This is the current iteration of the first EDH deck I built after learning of the format. It was always a mono green big stompy deck. Started with Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary as the general til he got banned, then switched to Azusa, Lost but Seeking, then to Omnath, Locus of Mana, then briefly to Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, and then quickly back to Omnath after realizing how much much hate Vorinclex draws. I got a lot of great ideas for this deck from the Omnath Primer, and would highly suggest checking it out if you are looking to build a deck around everyone's favorite ramp machine. So, on to the deck...
Basically it plays like any monogreen ramp deck... Make lots of mana, play creatures, turn them sideways, profit! I'm not currently running Aluren because, while this is technically a multiplayer deck, I play a lot of one on one with it as well with a friend and he benefits from it more than I do (he runs a Purphoros deck and a Norin Deck). The Eldrazi sideboard is for the super ultra Spawnsire of Ulamog finish where the 8 remaining Eldrazi get powered onto the field and destroy the world. When playing competitively or if playing with people that don't approve of sideboards, I switch him for Ulamog and drop the Spawnsire and the sideboard for those games.
Win Conditions:
1. Make Omnath very big, turn him sideways, and beat face
2. Make Omnath very big, use mana for giant Genesis Wave, vomit deck into play, turn creatures sideways, and beat face
3. Make Omnath very big, use mana to make token army with Ant Queen, Wolbriar Elemental, Avenger of Zendikar, etc... drop Beastmaster Ascension (sometimes optional), turn tokens sideways, and beat face
4. Make Omnath very big, use mana to play and activate Spawnsire of Ulamog, drop all the Eldrazi, turn them sideways and watch the table scoop as you beat face
I've been thinking that Into the Wilds might deserve a spot in this deck, but I'm having trouble deciding what I could cut. Any other ideas, opinions, or suggestions would be most appreciated!
