I feel like the lockdown on this deck just isn't happening fast enough. My group runs a lot of artifact decks, so hitting their land doesn't really seem to do much after a while, and they end up having more than enough mana to pay for any taxes on the board.
I'm wondering if it might be better to use Zur the Enchanter as my commander. Anyone have any thoughts about this guy? And if I use him, what black cards are worth putting in here, and what are good ones to take out to fit them into the deck?
New to commander, and new to this type of deck, so I also might just not be playing it correctly.
I wish I knew alot of artifact hate cards off the top of my hate. My meta isnt artifact heavy and if someone starts getting to much someone generally wipes the board. If you are finding them not hurting on the taxes as much maybe look for different kind of lock downs, Tapping down everything, Pickle them with things such as Grid LockPeacekeeper so on so forth
I would say if you are new to EDH, you should avoid the "cool kid" commanders and play something more fun. GAAIV and Zur, though very powerful, are also very competitive, and tend to not promote fun at the table.
