So we got every Maro variant available, including Descendant of Masumaro, who actually turned out to be decent. Include some card draw and ways to give your big dudes trample, and you have a deck!
The deck is sort of purposely built as a glass cannon deck, without a ton of answers. Prime Speaker is your main method of card draw, so if she gets tucked you can have some issues. You'll notice that Survival of the Fittest is in the deck. Survival is usuall included in decks to get answers, but in this deck it is made to find threat. There are only 2 ways to keep your hand big, and then there's no real way to re-shuffle your graveyard back into your library. It is completely possible to draw your entire deck so you need to be careful. Each of these "shortcomings" are purposely in the deck, but I found it fun to play specifically because of these. And the deck was pretty successful.
Thanks for the awesome vids and succumbing to everyone's Zegana suggestions!
I recently took a look at your budget Azami list and was inspired to start building it as the foundation to my own list. I would definitely be interested in a retrospective on past decks if you're ever too busy to start something from scratch. I will be all over an update if it ever comes to fruition. Wizards are always represented in every new set.
Hmmm, I assume you mean Karn Liberated? I haven't seen BoM's list so I don't really know how that one runs, but this one is more of a "put huge threats into play and make other people deal with them" kind of deck. It doesn't really have a whole ton of answers. Planeswalker Karn seems like more of a control piece, to me at least. It's an extremely good card but doesn't really advance your plan (make huge Maros). Prime Speaker can definitely be made to be a more controlling deck but this version isn't it.
If you give me a link to the other list, I can compare and give you a more thorough answer, but my guess is the other list is more control oriented. It's probably better too, but I had fun with this one.

That deck is interesting. Is the banned list different, because it has Primeval Titan in it, and that's an auto-include if allowed.
Anyways, that deck seems to primarily win through Craterhoof Behemoth, which seems like a good route to go. It uses a bunch of little mana dudes to help you out into getting to that, and adds Survival, Fierce Empath, Natural Order, Tooth and Nail, etc. to get him. I'm actually kind of surprised that it's not running Avenger of Zendikar, but I'm guessing he found that it wasn't necessary? I dunno. It's not running a whole ton of control elements, but the ones it is running are incredibly powerful (Terastadon, Sylvan Primordial, Mindslaver). It seems pretty good to me.
Mine probably isn't as resilient, but it has the potential to be more explosive. I think that deck may have a little difficulty if the Behemoth gets countered/removed from the game. Probably a not, but still. It has a lot of tutors though which is what helps it out.

Why did you remove Karn from the deck (compared to the deck list from BoM)?

Yes I meant Karn Liberated. I can see it being more a control piece but it is also a huge threat. That is why I was asking.
I'll be happy to have your imput anyway regarding the other list and the comparisons between the two.

the setting is different since it is 1v1 and the Craterhoof Behemoth plan may not be sufficient and resilient enough in a multiplayer game.
