Welcome, supplicant. I, the new Evincar, greet you in the Father of Machine's name. You come before me seeking to know the power of Great Yawgmoth? Then look, and see for yourself...
So, cute introduction out of the way, this is an Old Phyrexian theme deck built around Volrath the Fallen. The idea is to play as many of the Old Phyrexian cards as I could without shooting myself in the foot really badly. Most of them aren't very good (the Plaguelord series in particular is aggressively meh), but the deck is damn entertaining to play so I'm not too worried. I thought I might post it and see what people had to say about it.
A few cards I'm thinking about adding:
-Thousand-Year Elixir. There are a lot of tap guys in here (and I plan to add Western Paladin once I can find the right printing of him) and Elixir would help out greatly.
-Yawgmoth's Will. Honestly, I'm not sure how good it would be here. Also, I don't have one. I feel like it is such a perfect flavor add though...
So, anyone else want to help Old Phyrexia conquer the Multiverse? I sure do.
Lastly, one note: please do not suggest anything from Scars of Mirrodin block. I will not include anything here that stems from that New Phyrexian pile of terribleness. Please, just don't bother even bringing it up. Thank you.
Nah. It's mostly for turning sideways for mana. I've attacked a few times, but only when it is clearly safe. I *did* avoid Negator for that reason though.
Loaded with flavor, but needs Yawgmoth's WIll. Ignore breaking it, Cabal coffers & Nykthos will do that for you. Its 2B for flashback tax and retrieve a land at worst. It's singlehandedly one of the most (if not THE most) powerful cards in the game. There are VERY few decks with black it it that wont benefit from it, even if it's the only black card in the deck.
+1 on Null Profusion. I love that card a lot, it's a lot more powerful than most people give it credit.
