So for a long time I've been on the card draw equals pain route with a Thraximundar list and something just didn't sit right, it didn't fit the theme. Then wizards comes out with the greatest general for the job. Nekusar, the Mindrazer. You've all seen him, you know what he does, and I think he's awesome.
The gameplan:
Wheel our opponents to death, either through decking or damage.
There's many different spells in magics history that hit the button with this one, in fact there's probably too many to fit all in one deck and still be playable.
The results:
So far I've played only one game with it, I can honestly tell you it was one of the most fun games I've had in a long time. Getting each opponents down to 20 by turn 6 while dealing no combat damage seemed legit. The hard part came next. Pushing through the last few points of damage on a clogged board with no real beaters to speak of. That's where Niv-Mizzet, the firemind and psychosis crawler came into their own.
Tutoring against this deck is fairly worthless unless you have the mana to tutor and play it in the same turn, as it'll have gone by the time you come to cast it. However giving opponents so much gas does seem to have downsides. They expel their hand rather quickly, knowing it'll be full again just afterwards.
I won, but it was very close and there were only a couple of points of damage in it.
You'll notice that the lands are missing, I don't have a perfect mana base so there is an assortment in there. I've included two lands that are crucial to your success in the Decklist. Feel free to make the rest up yourself.
If I'm missing anything glaringly obvious in the deck please feel free to comment. If you are going to suggest something, please suggest what should come out aswell.
Thanks.
