Hey everyone. I have been doing research on this General for a while. I want to flesh out a deck here before I purchase the cards. I've seen plenty of lists, but all them feel just a little "off" too me. Like the "Make an artifact a creature" theme has been taken just a little too far for my liking. Don't get me wrong. I love the General, just need a deck to my liking. I am posting this thread to gather input on the deck and what cards should be in or how to better do certain things. Any and all feedback is appreciated. I want to achieve a deck that has it's foot in some control but wins via the usual artifact combo that is prevalent in Esper colors. So counters, board wipes, tutors, cantrips, and combo pieces. Real "Assemble the Doomsday Machine" style. I know if I want all out brutal combo, I should go straight up Sharuum...but I want to win via combo but I would like to have a fun and interesting game from time to time as well, and I think Sydri can do that. Enough of my long-winded request though...let me make a shell that can be modified...please, please let me know what you guys think. I'll start with the cards I REALLY want to play and the staples and go from there.
The above decklist is just all the the thoughts/cards that were floating around in my mind. Looking at it myself I can tell it needs a little more of the combo/control that it's supposed to have, but I will let you all help me on that (if you would be so kind). Thanks in advance everyone.
Staff of Nin - An animated Staff of Nin that pokes something with damage will deal lethal damage with deathtouch.
Memnarch - Not necessary for the deck, but can start to do even more goofy things like turn opposing enchantments into artifacts and then into creatures to kill them. Can also turn your planeswalkers into artifacts and then into lifelink, death touch creatures. Or you can turn one of your planeswalkers into a creature, then use Tezzeret's 5/5 ability on it and now you have a permanent artifact creature planeswalker.
Is check out rocks thread his list us pretty good. Your playing combo so cut some fat for ponder preordain brainstorm impulse. . Should probly be using forge master combo .
Dismiss into dream and mycosynth lattice makes getting rid of permanents pretty easy and is the main reason i would build Sydri
also combos like gilded lotus and freed from the real which is pretty much how memnarch wins and for that matter he should be included for such combos. the deck is esper and can easily tutor combo peices especially where the deck is artifact based
