MTG Salvation

Introduction

This is a four color (UBRG) Commander deck that focuses on cheating powerful creatures into play and moderate control for a multiplayer environment. The goal is to win with either damage or with combo. Though the Commander is Scion of the Ur-Dragon making this technically a 5-color deck, the 99 other cards maintain the 4-color identity. I chose these four colors because each one has important cards to help quickly cheat things into play. The best reanimation spells are black, looting and draw is in red/blue, while ramp and Oath of Druids are in green.


Deck History

This deck kind of started as a Sedris, the Traitor King reanimator deck (found here). It was very competitive, combo'd pretty often and quickly, and I really only had about half of the cards (the rest were expensive so I proxied them). Then I built my Ghave, Guru of Spores deck so I started letting another person in our playgroup borrow Sedris each week since all he had was French 1v1 Azami, Lady of Scrolls. He really enjoyed it, so he built one of his own with Scion of the Ur-Dragon and only ran UB spells and lands for an even more competitive combo-control. Liking my Ghave deck a lot and with a really similar Commander deck in our group, I decided to no longer support my Sedris deck.

Fast forward to now, my Ghave deck has been upgraded to a four color token deck and I've been long thinking about making a cycle of other four color decks. I didn't really want to spend the time and money making them though, so I decided against it. Days later, a friend told me I should just build an extremely casual deck out of just cards I own (Hint: I own very few). We started throwing it together the other day and as I looked through the cards, I realized I still had all my reanimation and looting spells. I picked up a Scion of the Ur-Dragon as my general, threw in a bunch of my best cards (read: junk rares and commons) and a deck was born.


Current Decklist

If you didn't read anything above, just know that this is a very casual deck. I don't have many good cards (or cards at all) because I usually just buy cards I need rather than packs.



I don't plan on running a Plains once I upgrade the land base a little bit because it taints the color identity of the 99. Unfortunately, I need it to cast Scion for now.



I'm not really looking for suggestions unless they're cheap, and then only maybe. I keep my budget tight and I don't want to proxy at all in this deck. It's meant to play against some of the more casual decks in my playgroup.
