As I recently decided to upload all my decklists onto MTGSalvation for feedback and what not, here's my third EDH deck commanded by Edric, Spymaster of Trest.
The point of this deck is to take advantage of Edric's draw ability by letting your opponents attack eachother while you chip away at their life total with a bunch of small creatures with evasion, such as Flying Men, inevitably drawing into either an Overrun effect or to chain multiple Time Walk effects to go for the win, all while using counter magic to protect Edric and your tiny army. It is heavily reliant on the commander, but extremely fun to play!
Notes: Savor the Moment wasn't that great, only being able to attack with new creatures played last turn and found spots for the original Overrun and Swiftfoot Boots as another way to protect Edric.
Notes: Faerie Impostor seems like a good addition from R2R, hopefully it's not too much of a tempo loss and that being a Rouge makes up for that. Can't really think of a land in my meta that can screw me over so I can cut Strip Mine for another basic, since coloured mana is pretty important to the deck.
Notes: Gatecrash Update! Was trying to find a spot for Rapid Hybridization since a second Pongify seemed pretty awesome, but couldn't so ended up replacing it just cause this actually comes with a token...
Two new creatures added to the deck, another 1cmc flyer and Spire Tracer, both of them seem perfect for Edric.
I've found both Elvish Pioneer and Chrome Mox underwhelming so decided to cut these, Biomass Mutation on the other hand seems pretty awesome, being an instant speed Overrun effect!
The bounce land was just too much of a tempo loss, especially early game...
Notes: Was either Exploration or Burgeoning and option 2 is wayyy cheaper so I went for it, plus it does look like it could be more explosive.
Saw that I didn't really need Wilds, just slowed me down and Resolve seems much better than Boots, being able to protect all my Elves (or Rouges), haste is irrelevant in here anyway.
Notes: Okay, so Snake vs. Capture. Snake's pros: Is a creature, easier to cast, can bounce it with Equlibrium. Snake's cons: Torpor Orb type cards stop it, doesn't have evasion. Capture's pros: has potential to give you enough mana to cast something like a Time Stretch, or play a bunch of creatures the following turn. Capture's cons: Isn't a creature, a little harder to cast. I think Capture is probably going to be better, so I'll test it out..Looking forward to counter something like a Tooth and Nail!
Notes: Well, opened a Pact while drafting MM, so until I can get my hands on a Force of Will (>_>), this should do the trick. Obviously to be used very carefully, but yeah. Trying it out over Dissipate for now.
Notes: Been considering Quarry for a while, although like Dryad Arbor, it hurts after a boardwipe, but I think it should be worth being able to tap for either colour.
Notes: M14 Update! Pest hasn't really been doing too much and Faerie Impostor has been annoying from time to time so I replaced them with the new Flying Men and a Llanowar Elves! Mutavault actually seems like it's going to be pretty good in here, it's a 2/2 that can attack, with Galerider Sliver it gets flying, with Eldamari it has shroud and forestwalk, it counts as a Faerie for Spellstutter Sprite, can be protected with Wirewood Symbiote, pumped with Blinkmoth Nexus, activate Prowl for Notorious Throng and always be protected with Steely Resolve! So yeah, a whole lotta fun lol.
Notes: Theros Update! I have been considering Coastal Piracy as a back up for if Edric gets tucked for quite some time now and I think Bident of Thassa can take that spot as it also helps make way for the times your opponents can actually block your creatures. Equilibrium wasn't doing too much for me lately so I've decided to move it to the Maybeboard for now, if I start to miss it, I'll consider adding it again.
Notes: The only thing from CMDR13 that really caught my eye for Edric is Curse of Predation, but it's probably too slow. I've been considering Nykthos for a while and I think it should be good in here. It's no Gaea's Cradle, but I'll try it out.
Notes: Nothing from Born of the Gods that I can really see for Edric unfortunately, however, I have been wanting to put in Winter Orb and Tangle Wire for quite some time now, and have finally done so. Greaves is one of the weaker ways to protect Edric and Temporal Mastery is only good when miracle'd. Will see how this works out. Other considerations for this update included Nature's Will, Sword of Feast and Famine & Priest of Titania.
Notes: Journey into Nyx Update! We got another 1/1 Flyer for U and our first ever completely "unblockable" creature at 1 mana too (that just happens to be a Rouge!). Pretty awesome set for Edric! Another City of Brass is always welcome, and I've decided to put Gemstone Caverns in, will see how it works out. Other considerations included Snapcaster Mage (don't think he's needed), Craterhoof Behemoth (still wanna try him out sometime) as well as Chrome Mox and Mox Diamond - which are in my Cube right now, and I don't really want to spend the money to buy them right now (they've gone up quite a bit >_>). They should probably go in at some point in the future though...As for the cuts, a couple of basics, a landwalker that simply isn't as good anymore (plus it can't be foiled!) and Champion of Lambholt that I was never really excited to see, all creatures should get through anyway.
Notes: CNS Update! Exploration is no longer $40, and I opened one, so it can take it's budget replacement's place. Other considerations included Stifle and Misdirection, but I don't believe either are really needed.
Notes: M15 Update. The only consideration from this set for Edric was Chasm Skulker which is more than just a Lorescale Coatl as after it dies it leaves us with a bunch of tokens with evasion. I thought it could be kind of an anti-wrath creature for the deck, but its not too hard to remove this before wrathing, plus, a counterspell is probably better in its place anyway. So no cards from M15 made the cut, however did make a few changes. Discussion in Donald's thread opened me up to Chain of Vapor which I'm going to try over Rapid Hybridization. Being able to deal with problem permanents like Propaganda unlike Hybridization is another plus for its inclusion. Other than that cut two high CMC spells for 2 CMC counterspells, which should make things smoother
Notes: Khans of Tarkir Update!
Aside from the fetches, the only card from KTK to find a spot in the deck is Disdainful Stroke, and I think it should be good in here, being able to counter almost every wrath, among other things. Will try it out at the very least. Unfortunately there was no 1 CMC flyer with Prowess, which would have been cool.
Other non-KTK updates include: Veil of Birds, which I think should consistently turn into a 1/1 flyer.
Now that I have some of the fetches, Lotus Cobra can go in too. Lotus Petal/Chrome Mox/Mox Diamond can lead to more explosive starts and I've wanted to add them for a while.
As for the cuts, Erayo, Soratami Ascendant has been banned, which sucks. Hopefully that changes sometime in the future. Sol Ring is simply not needed anymore with the overall curve of the deck dropping significantly with the past few updates. Invisible Stalker/Looter il-Kor have also been made redundant with all the 1 mana creatures with evasion that have gone in lately.
As for Overrun, I think I'm running too many win cons, and Overrun seems to be the weakest one of them all. (I could be wrong and that could be Biomass Mutation, but I like the instant speed, plus our creatures heave evasion anyway, so yeah.)
Notes: Got my hands on a gold border Force of Will and this only seems like a logical upgrade.
Got suggested Noxious Revival and although E-Witness can return the card directly to your hand, can be Green Sun's Zenith'd for, and deal damage for Edric, I think Noxious Revival costing 0 is a huge upside. I'll test it over Witness for now, and if it doesn't work out I can always change it back.
Notes: Dragons of Tarkir Update!
I can't afford a Gaea's Cradle, so Crop Rotation's function was mainly to grab Reliquary Tower. However, over the course of playing the deck, I've cared less and less about having access to a maximum hand size as I don't really mind discarding everything but counterspells and win cons when the deck gets going. So I'm going to cut both. Blinkmoth Nexus too, has become more of a liability than a plus lately, as coloured mana is so important in this deck. I'm still going to continue running Mutavault though, as it has cool interactions within the deck, mainly acting as another Rouge to trigger Prowl. Lastly, Wonder has been in my chopping board for quite some time now, and it finally gets the axe too.
Replacing these cards are 2 Islands, a Spell Pierce (additional cheap disruption), & Gudul Lurker (the second best creature with evasion this deck has ever received, after Triton Shorestalker).
Other considerations for this update included: Daze, Submerge, Stratus Dancer, Collected Company, & Shaman of Forgotten Ways (the latter three unlikely to ever make the cut).
Notes: Since tucking a Commander is no longer a thing, just making a slight change to the counter magic suite. Although Envelop is quite narrow, the main thing this deck wants to counter is Wraths. Spell Syphon however, should be at least a Mana Leak in this deck most of the time. Overall, a good update for Edric.
Notes: Origins Update. Faerie Miscreant - a 1/1 flyer that is both a Faerie and a Rogue, perfect for the deck. Replaced Trygon Predator which was one of the few high CMC creatures still remaining.
Other considerations included Caustic Caterpillar & Honored Hierarch.
Notes: Finally able to play Magic again, so have updated the deck with the past 10 sets. Mausoleum Wanderer, Slither Blade, Mist-Cloaked Herald & Siren Stormtamer were practically made for this deck. Cut creatures with less reliable evasion to fit them. Unsubstantiate is less conditional than Envelop - the opponent shouldn't have enough mana to recast the spell on the same turn, and by the next we'll have drawn another counter. Beast Within has been on the chopping board for quite some time, going to try out Wrap in Vigor over it and see how many times it's a dead card. With the amount of cards this deck discards, Temporal Trespass is a 3 CMC Time Walk, and a better wincon than Biomass Mutation.
Maybeboard
+1 Daze: A weaker counterspell, but it allows me to safely cast Edric on turn 2 or 3.
+1 Foil: It's no Force of Will, but most of the time I should meet the requirement to cast it for free.
+1 Submerge: Essentially a free spell that can deal with a problem creature.
Other Considerations
Ancient Ziggurat: This deck does like its coloured mana. Alchemist's Refuge: Might be good in here, playing creatures EOT to avoid wraths and what not. Arbor Elf: Another mana elf, I doubt I have enough Forests though. Blinkmoth Nexus: Recently cut. Evasive creature in a land, however, the colourless mana hurts. Burgeoning: Can be quite explosive at times. Champion of Lambholt: Another win con. Coiling Oracle: A staple in these colours, if only it had evasion...! Craterhoof Behemoth: Seems like a solid finisher, but it does cost 8 mana... Cryptic Command: Bounces a problem permanent such as Propaganda and makes way for an attack but it does cost 4, which I don't like leaving open often in here for just 1 counterspell. Curse of Predation: A slow finisher. Cyclonic Rift: A blue staple. Can temporarly bounce a problem permanent such as Propaganda, or wipe the board if you get to that stage. Druids' Repository: Can produce a substantial amount of mana in this deck, however I doubt I need it. Equilibrium: Can be quite good disruption. Faerie Impostor: A 1 CMC flyer that is also a rouge, however comes with a loss of tempo. Glaring Spotlight: Good for an alpha strike, however, most of my creatures should be unblockable anyway. Honored Hierarch: Has to get threw once, but then produces either colour. Invisible Stalker: A rouge with evasion, used to run it. Jhessian Infiltrator: Another unblockable rogue, just a little harder to cast than Invisible Stalker, which itself got the axe recently. Lightning Greaves: Protection for Edric. Long-Term Plans: A Demonic Tutor in this deck...Gets Edric back if he gets tucked. Looter il-Kor: A rouge with evasion, used to run it. Lorescale Coatl: Can get quite huge, however that's not what this deck is about. Master Biomancer: Another option for a win con. Memnite: 0 mana for a 1/1, but no evasion... Mystic Snake: Counterspell on a stick. Overrun: A good win condition, recently got cut because I had too many win cons. Plasm Capture: It's no Mana Drain... Plaxmanta: Quite a cool card, if only it had flying! Pongify: Cheap and efficient removal spell. Rapid Hybridization: Cheap, efficient removal. Reliquary Tower: The deck clearly draws a lot of cards, however, its not too hard to discard a bunch of 1/1s. Recently cut. Rising Waters: Another Winter Orb effect at twice the cost. Sensei's Divining Top: EDH staple, don't think Edric needs it. Signal Pest: A very slow win con. Steely Resolve: Name Elf. To protect Edric, and more. Sunder: Another option for a win con. Swiftfoot Boots: Protection for Edric. Sword of Feast and Famine: Be good to play some creatures, untap lands, play more, all while having enough untapped land to keep counters open, but not sure if its worth a spot. Teferi's Veil: My creatures can only be reacted to in instant speed unless I've played them this turn, might be worth it? Anti-wrath card. Temporal Mastery: Another Time Walk effect that probably costs too much most of the time. Thought Nibbler: It's a 1 CMC 1/1 Flyer, with a drawback. Time Stretch: Used to run it, but it costs way too much. Willow Dryad: A creature with Forestwalk if you ever need it. Wonder: Recently cut, becoming lacking over time.
- I've seen on other Edric weenie builds that the hexproof on Invisible Stalker makes it not so great a card for it's cost. Perhaps consider Jhessian Infiltrator?? Still a rogue for Notorious Throng, still costs 2 mana, but gain the extra power/toughness to help speed up the win.
- I see you already have Steely Resolve and Eladamri, Lord of Leaves , but another card that seems to be popular in this build type is Plaxmanta. Just a thought...
- Apparently Druids' Repository becomes pretty sick ramp in this type of build. I've never seen it in action yet....just what other threads are saying about the card...
- With so much card draw, would you wan to have more ways to belch out lands? Cards like Skyshroud Ranger, Sakura-Tribe Scout, and Rites of Flourishing may be able to increase your tempo substantially. Then again...too much mana doesn't win you the game. I'm still playing with balance...
Anyways, like I mentioned already, your build is considerably more tuned than mine. It seems I need a strong connection to theme for me to enjoy my EDH decks...

Jhessian Infiltrator is definitely a card to consider, not sure how I missed it, being a rogue certainly helps. I really like Invisible Stalker cause it is a rogue that will almost certainly activate Prowl, plus it's easier to cast, and I don't think the extra power really matters too much as when we go for the win, we go overboard anyway
- I see you already have Steely Resolve and Eladamri, Lord of Leaves , but another card that seems to be popular in this build type is Plaxmanta. Just a thought...
Plaxmanta is a card that I've never seen before and I'll add it to my list of considerations too, although I think most of the time a counterspell would be better, as not too many times I worry about one of my creatures dying, unless it's Edric himself, which is usually protected. Seems good against spells like Abrupt Decay though, which I don't come across too often, still a pretty cool card!
I've never really had a problem dealing with creatures attacking me while playing this deck - most of the time, I *want* opponents to attack to clear the path for me; and they end up attacking eachother to draw cards. Most of the time, I have a lot of blockers anyway, as I attack, draw a bunch of cards, and play more 1/1s and what not while leaving counters up passing my turn. I also see awkward situations such as my creatures not untapping on extra turns cause I have an activated Beastmaster Ascension in play lol.
- Faerie Conclave could be another very good manland for you.
I have considered it before, but I think entering tapped would be too much of a tempo loss for this deck, as I almost always want to play a land and use it to cast something on my turn, or to leave counterspells open for wraths.
Craterhoof Behemoth actually looks like it would be pretty badass in here O_o Although it is easier to cast Overrun + Time Warp in the same turn, or have Overrun + Countermagic open (vs. Behemoth + a counterspell or two) I think it's powerful enough to warrant an inclusion, I'll try get my hands on one and test it out in here
- Apparently Druids' Repository becomes pretty sick ramp in this type of build. I've never seen it in action yet....just what other threads are saying about the card...
It would definitely help me cast Time Stretch or a huge Biomass Mutation but I haven't really had any problems doing that so far. I probably have one lying around, so there's no reason for me not to test it out when I get a chance ^^

I used to run Elvish Pioneer before, but I don't think it did enough, not having any evasion is a pretty huge downside in here. I usually end up discarding most my lands anyway (unless I have Reliquary Tower or Burgeoning, but yeah).
Anyways, like I mentioned already, your build is considerably more tuned than mine. It seems I need a strong connection to theme for me to enjoy my EDH decks...
Hope this helps.
I do appreciate the suggestions, thanks for having a look at my list! I just tell myself that "small creatures with evasion" and "drawing a LOT of cards" is the theme of the deck lol
I had a look at your list too and saw that you are currently trying to make cuts, I'll try make some suggestions soon ^^

Equilibrium wasn't doing too much for me lately so I've decided to move it to the Maybeboard for now, if I start to miss it, I'll consider adding it again.
Other considerations from the set:
Thassa, God of the Sea: Could help the few creatures that aren't unblockable get through at times.
I think I would much rather run Thassa, God of the Sea, because 100% unblockable > deathtouch. Most of our creatures should be unblockable anyway, but if your opponent has enough fliers, or certain things can be blocked, the Bow can be useful as they might not block, but with Thassa it is guaranteed that they can't block. The +1/+1 Counter part doesn't really make much of a difference, 2 damage would be irrelevant most of the time, gaining 3 life is of no use at all and the last ability may have some uses, like putting something from your GY on the bottom of your library so you can Green Sun's Zenith or Mystical Tutor for it, but it's not going to happen too often.
It is a card that made me think of Edric when I first saw it, but don't think it deserves a spot in the deck
No love for scryb ranger? Serves as a one turn ramp if you miss your land drop, can save Dryad Arbor (or block indefinitely), flash is always good, pro-blue doesn't hurt and a solid evasion.

Scryb Ranger is cool, but I want to limit the number of 2 drops in the deck, if there are any creatures right now that are sub-optimal and Scryb Ranger would be better than them, then I could see making the change, but yeah. I do like the Flash, being able to make use of the mana I've kept open to counter a wrath, plus it would help Spellstutter Sprite, however I think the pro-blue would almost never be useful and I don't see myself having then need to have a indefinite blocker with this deck lol.
If she was a Faerie Rouge the likelihood of inclusion would be much higher lol. If there are any creatures that you believe are worse than Scryb Ranger (in Edric, obviously =P), then I can consider a swap. Thanks ^^
P.S. Isn't it great that they were giving these away for free?
Notes: The only thing from CMDR13 that really caught my eye for Edric is Curse of Predation, but it's probably too slow. I've been considering Nykthos for a while and I think it should be good in here. It's no Gaea's Cradle, but I'll try it out.

I agree that Curse of Predation is probably too slow for Edric. Beastmaster Ascension is the same cmc and will give more pump faster. My +1/+1 Animar deck LOVES the card though.
Cards I tossed into my Edric from the Commander 2013: Propaganda (didn't own one yet) Arcane Denial (it's all about tempo...cards do nothing if their land is already tapped) Command Tower (cause I gotta do something with the card)
Other than that though, Edric kinda is a 'anti-edh' type of build. It takes stuff that should be absolutely brutal in edh and makes it amazing. As such, I didn't expect to find much from the Commander 2013 for this type of build...
I ran Edric for awhile. My list had a good deal in common with yours, with one big exception: I ran Sword of Feast and Famine, Bear Umbra, and Nature's Will. You mention this in your "maybe" pile, but let me tell you, these cards are critical to winning fast.
You drop Edric turn 3 and try to swing for two or three cards right away. Next turn you hopefully toss down one of these beauties, then draw cards and play everything on your second main phase. If that happens, you're probably set to draw 4 - 5 cards next turn and have two turns, basically, and it's hard to see how you don't win from there.
With Edric active, all of these cards become Time Walk effects. They're really, really good.

I've always wanted to try Sword of Feast and Famine and Nature's Will in here, not really Bear Umbra because it's easier to stop; cause they do seem really good on paper, being able to play everything you just drew and keep additional mana open for counterspells, I really do need to try them.
But the thing is, are these two cards better in here than Winter Orb and Tangle Wire would be? What cards should I be trying to put in here first?
And then there's the harder question - what do you cut? >_>
As for Kira, she's cool cause she's a creature with evasion and she protects Edric, but she is another 3 drop creature which is kinda high for the deck and also, the only creature you really want to protect individually is Edric, other than him, no one is going to try and Path to Exile a Flying Men and the only thing you need to protect your swarm from is a wrath.
Would your group let you play a GB Force of Will? They're not nearly as expensive.
I play with several playgroups, some of them would be okay with it, some won't - I did plan to get my hands on one and I could take it in and out when needed, just haven't got around to doing it yet lol, thanks for the reminder! =P
Glaring Spotlight is cool, and I did think of Edric the first time it was spoiled, but decided against it since most of our cards should be unblockable anyway, and when you're winning, it's usually because your creatures have trample anyway.
And yeah, Tangle Wire, along with Winter Orb are cards I have been wanting to test in here for a while, just not sure what these cards should replace is all >_>
sorry didn't see the Wirewood Symbiote What do you think about playing Turbulent Dreams? You always have a hand full of cards.
Um, I'm not sure if Turnbulent Dreams will ever win you the game, you know? It doesn't really help our game plan, most of our creatures are unblockable anyway, and all we want to do is protect Edric and counter any and all wraths until we can chain Time Walks into something like Beastmaster Ascension, Biomass Mutation or Triumph of the Hordes. Cool card though, first time I'm seeing it lol.
When I get some more time, I will look into the decklist a bit further. It instantly intregued me due to the theme and attack plan. Quick question: how does it hold up against in constant board wipe game?

The game plan is pretty much: Turn 1 play a 1/1 with evasion, Turn 2 play 2 1/1s with evasion, Turn 3 play Edric and draw 3 cards.
From turn 4 onwards, you want to keep drawing cards, while playing more creatures with evasion, but keeping countermagic open at the same time, you never really want to get caught off-guard with a wrath.
There will be times when an opponent wraths, you counter it, but in the same turn cycle another opponent wraths successfully, but the thing is, you play the deck like you would an aggro deck in any other format, you never really want to completely overextend - if you weren't keep countermagic up, you would instead be playing even more creatures each turn, but since you are, you should be able to rebuild pretty quickly.
Edric is a crazy card advantage machine; the biggest problems for the deck is Supreme Verdict, followed by a Cycled Decree of Pain (have Voidslime for that). A meta filled with Propaganda effects can be a ***** for Edric too.

Feel free to ask any other questions
Thanks for the great reply. I have been playing Esper (Oloro) and have found Venser, Shaper Savant to be great at protecting my stuff. Yes they can recast it, but nothing is better than sending back Supreme Verdict or other 5+ CMC cards.
Seeing that you have a decent amount if instant/sorcery spells, snapcaster? Plus, it is a 2 cost creature ;p
This was probably my decks hardest matchup too. 3 tax effects on the board and I couldn't swing for card draw if my life depended on it....and it did.
Eventually I came across my removal and the game progressed....but I save my enchant removal specifically for that now.
Yeah, it can be very annoying lol
Another great thing about Edric is that opponents are usually attacking eachother to draw cards too and often take care of Propaganda type effects as well.

Venser is great but I'm not sure if it's worth the inclusion, I used to run Mystic Snake before too. I mean if you're coming across Verdict and other uncounterable stuff a lot in your meta, then Venser might be worth it, but yeah.
SCM on the other hand wouldn't really be bad in an Edric deck, being able to not only flashback counterspells, but something like Time Warp to win the game. Certainly a card to consider - the only question is how much mana you are willing to keep open on opponent's turns I guess.
Notes: Nothing from Born of the Gods that I can really see for Edric unfortunately, however, I have been wanting to put in Winter Orb and Tangle Wire for quite some time now, and have finally done so. I'm not sure how to rank the one mana dudes in Edric. Is the preference flying, to guarantee some form of evasion every game? Do you gamble on island and forestwalk being completely unblockable? My friends all agree the deathtouch is best, while I really think the opposite. For me, the walks.

Change Log
13/09/2012
-1 Savor the Moment
-1 Arbor Elf
+1 Swiftfoot Boots
+1 Overrun
Notes: Savor the Moment wasn't that great, only being able to attack with new creatures played last turn and found spots for the original Overrun and Swiftfoot Boots as another way to protect Edric.
20/09/2012
-1 Veil of Birds
-1 Strip Mine
+1 Faerie Impostor
+1 Forest
Notes: Faerie Impostor seems like a good addition from R2R, hopefully it's not too much of a tempo loss and that being a Rouge makes up for that. Can't really think of a land in my meta that can screw me over so I can cut Strip Mine for another basic, since coloured mana is pretty important to the deck.
29/09/2012
-2 Forest
+2 Island
Notes: Just tweaking the mana base a little...Always seem to draw more Forests than I need and not enough Islands >_>
23/01/2013
-1 Pongify
-1 Elvish Pioneer
-1 Chrome Mox
-1 Simic Growth Chamber
+1 Rapid Hybridization
+1 Cloudfin Raptor
+1 Spire Tracer
+1 Biomass Mutation
20/03/2013
-1 Evolving Wilds
-1 Swiftfoot Boots
+1 Burgeoning
+1 Steely Resolve
Notes: Was either Exploration or Burgeoning and option 2 is wayyy cheaper so I went for it, plus it does look like it could be more explosive.
Saw that I didn't really need Wilds, just slowed me down and Resolve seems much better than Boots, being able to protect all my Elves (or Rouges), haste is irrelevant in here anyway.
25/04/2013
-1 Mystic Snake
+1 Plasm Capture
Notes: Okay, so Snake vs. Capture. Snake's pros: Is a creature, easier to cast, can bounce it with Equlibrium. Snake's cons: Torpor Orb type cards stop it, doesn't have evasion. Capture's pros: has potential to give you enough mana to cast something like a Time Stretch, or play a bunch of creatures the following turn. Capture's cons: Isn't a creature, a little harder to cast. I think Capture is probably going to be better, so I'll test it out..Looking forward to counter something like a Tooth and Nail!
15/06/2013
-1 Dissipate
+1 Pact of Negation
Notes: Well, opened a Pact while drafting MM, so until I can get my hands on a Force of Will (>_>), this should do the trick. Obviously to be used very carefully, but yeah. Trying it out over Dissipate for now.
24/07/2013
-1 Forest
+1 Thran Quarry
Notes: Been considering Quarry for a while, although like Dryad Arbor, it hurts after a boardwipe, but I think it should be worth being able to tap for either colour.
25/07/2013
-1 Signal Pest
-1 Faerie Impostor
-1 Forest
+1 Galerider Sliver
+1 Elvish Mystic
+1 Mutavault
16/09/2013
-1 Equilibrium
+1 Bident of Thassa
Notes: Theros Update! I have been considering Coastal Piracy as a back up for if Edric gets tucked for quite some time now and I think Bident of Thassa can take that spot as it also helps make way for the times your opponents can actually block your creatures. Equilibrium wasn't doing too much for me lately so I've decided to move it to the Maybeboard for now, if I start to miss it, I'll consider adding it again.
14/11/2013
-1 Island
+1 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
Notes: The only thing from CMDR13 that really caught my eye for Edric is Curse of Predation, but it's probably too slow. I've been considering Nykthos for a while and I think it should be good in here. It's no Gaea's Cradle, but I'll try it out.
26/01/2014
-1 Lightning Greaves
-1 Temporal Mastery
+1 Winter Orb
+1 Tangle Wire
Notes: Nothing from Born of the Gods that I can really see for Edric unfortunately, however, I have been wanting to put in Winter Orb and Tangle Wire for quite some time now, and have finally done so. Greaves is one of the weaker ways to protect Edric and Temporal Mastery is only good when miracle'd. Will see how this works out. Other considerations for this update included Nature's Will, Sword of Feast and Famine & Priest of Titania.
30/04/2014
-1 Willow Dryad
-1 Champion of Lambholt
-1 Forest
-1 Island
+1 Hypnotic Siren
+1 Triton Shorestalker
+1 Mana Confluence
+1 Gemstone Caverns
10/06/2014
-1 Burgeoning
+1 Exploration
Notes: CNS Update! Exploration is no longer $40, and I opened one, so it can take it's budget replacement's place. Other considerations included Stifle and Misdirection, but I don't believe either are really needed.
09/07/2014
-1 Rapid Hybridization
-1 Plasm Capture
-1 Time Stretch
+1 Chain of Vapor
+1 Negate
+1 Mana Leak
19/09/2014
-1 Erayo, Soratami Ascendant [BANNED]
-1 Sol Ring
-1 Steely Resolve
-1 Invisible Stalker
-1 Looter il-Kor
-1 Overrun
-2 Forest*
-2 Island
+1 Veil of Birds
+1 Lotus Cobra
+1 Lotus Petal
+1 Chrome Mox
+1 Mox Diamond
+1 Disdainful Stroke
+1 Flooded Strand*
+1 Polluted Delta*
+1 Windswept Heath*
+1 Wooded Foothills*
10/10/2014
-1 Pact of Negation
-1 Eternal Witness
+1 Force of Will*
+1 Noxious Revival
Notes: Got my hands on a gold border Force of Will and this only seems like a logical upgrade.
Got suggested Noxious Revival and although E-Witness can return the card directly to your hand, can be Green Sun's Zenith'd for, and deal damage for Edric, I think Noxious Revival costing 0 is a huge upside. I'll test it over Witness for now, and if it doesn't work out I can always change it back.
20/03/2015
-1 Reliquary Tower*
-1 Blinkmoth Nexus*
-1 Crop Rotation
-1 Wonder
+2 Island
+1 Spell Pierce*
+1 Gudul Lurker
25/03/2015
-1 Hinder
-1 Spell Crumple*
+1 Envelop
+1 Spell Syphon*
Notes: Since tucking a Commander is no longer a thing, just making a slight change to the counter magic suite. Although Envelop is quite narrow, the main thing this deck wants to counter is Wraths. Spell Syphon however, should be at least a Mana Leak in this deck most of the time. Overall, a good update for Edric.
28/05/2015
-1 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
-1 Skullclamp*
-1 Bident of Thassa*
+1 Gaea's Cradle
+1 Crop Rotation
+1 Elvish Pioneer
Notes: Got a Gaea's Cradle for a reasonable price, so it replaces Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. It also means Crop Rotation makes it back into the deck. Since Edric can no longer be tucked, Skullclamp & Bident of Thassa are much less useful and can get the axe. Elvish Pioneer can go back in the deck to fill the last spot.
31/08/2015
-1 Trygon Predator*
+1 Faerie Miscreant*
Notes: Origins Update. Faerie Miscreant - a 1/1 flyer that is both a Faerie and a Rogue, perfect for the deck. Replaced Trygon Predator which was one of the few high CMC creatures still remaining.
Other considerations included Caustic Caterpillar & Honored Hierarch.
20/02/2017
-1 Grayscaled Gharial
-1 Jukai Messenger*
-1 Merfolk Spy*
-1 Marsh Boa*
-1 Envelop
-1 Beast Within*
-1 Biomass Mutation*
+1 Mausoleum Wanderer
+1 Slither Blade*
+1 Mist-Cloaked Herald*
+1 Siren Stormtamer*
+1 Unsubstantiate
+1 Wrap in Vigor*
+1 Temporal Trespass*

1 Capture of Jingzhou

Conclusion
Do have a few small thoughts:
- I've seen on other Edric weenie builds that the hexproof on Invisible Stalker makes it not so great a card for it's cost. Perhaps consider Jhessian Infiltrator?? Still a rogue for Notorious Throng, still costs 2 mana, but gain the extra power/toughness to help speed up the win.
- I see you already have Steely Resolve and Eladamri, Lord of Leaves , but another card that seems to be popular in this build type is Plaxmanta. Just a thought...
- No Meekstone or Propaganda?
- Faerie Conclave could be another very good manland for you.
- I'd sooner run Craterhoof Behemoth instead of Overrun, despite the extra 3 mana required.
Hope this helps.

Hey there, thanks for the response
Jhessian Infiltrator is definitely a card to consider, not sure how I missed it, being a rogue certainly helps. I really like Invisible Stalker cause it is a rogue that will almost certainly activate Prowl, plus it's easier to cast, and I don't think the extra power really matters too much as when we go for the win, we go overboard anyway
Behemoth + a counterspell or two) I think it's powerful enough to warrant an inclusion, I'll try get my hands on one and test it out in here
It would definitely help me cast Time Stretch or a huge Biomass Mutation but I haven't really had any problems doing that so far.
Other considerations from the set:
Feel free to make any other suggestions!
Maverick -- Storm

Because you can't spell slaughter without laughter.
I agree that Curse of Predation is probably too slow for Edric. Beastmaster Ascension is the same cmc and will give more pump faster. My +1/+1 Animar deck LOVES the card though.
Cards I tossed into my Edric from the Commander 2013:
Propaganda (didn't own one yet)
Arcane Denial (it's all about tempo...cards do nothing if their land is already tapped)
Command Tower (cause I gotta do something with the card)
Other than that though, Edric kinda is a 'anti-edh' type of build. It takes stuff that should be absolutely brutal in edh and makes it amazing. As such, I didn't expect to find much from the Commander 2013 for this type of build...

UW Ephara Hatebears [Primer], GB Gitrog Lands, BRU Inalla Combo-Control, URG Maelstrom Wanderer Landfall
I play with several playgroups, some of them would be okay with it, some won't - I did plan to get my hands on one and I could take it in and out when needed, just haven't got around to doing it yet lol, thanks for the reminder! =P
I already run Wirewood Symbiote =P
Glaring Spotlight is cool, and I did think of Edric the first time it was spoiled, but decided against it since most of our cards should be unblockable anyway, and when you're winning, it's usually because your creatures have trample anyway.
And yeah, Tangle Wire, along with Winter Orb are cards I have been wanting to test in here for a while, just not sure what these cards should replace is all >_>
Um, I'm not sure if Turnbulent Dreams will ever win you the game, you know? It doesn't really help our game plan, most of our creatures are unblockable anyway, and all we want to do is protect Edric and counter any and all wraths until we can chain Time Walks into something like Beastmaster Ascension, Biomass Mutation or Triumph of the Hordes. Cool card though, first time I'm seeing it lol.
I buy HP and Damaged cards!
Only EDH:
Sigarda, Host of Herons: Enchantress' Enchantments
Jenara, Asura of War: ETB Value Town
Purphoros, God of the Forge: Global Punishment
Xenagos, God of Revels: Ramp, Sneak, & Heavy Hitters
Ghave, Guru of Spores: Dies_to_Doom_Blade's stax list
Edric, Spymaster of Trest: Donald's list

Looking at my list - what do y'all think would be the best cards to replace with Winter Orb, Tangle Wire, Nature's Will & Sword of Feast and Famine?
-1 Lightning Greaves
-1 Temporal Mastery
+1 Winter Orb
+1 Tangle Wire
Notes: Nothing from Born of the Gods that I can really see for Edric unfortunately, however, I have been wanting to put in Winter Orb and Tangle Wire for quite some time now, and have finally done so. Greaves is one of the weaker ways to protect Edric and Temporal Mastery is only good when miracle'd. Will see how this works out.
Other considerations for this update included Nature's Will, Sword of Feast and Famine & Priest of Titania.
Wasteland Viper
sedge scorpion
I'm not sure how to rank the one mana dudes in Edric. Is the preference flying, to guarantee some form of evasion every game? Do you gamble on island and forestwalk being completely unblockable? My friends all agree the deathtouch is best, while I really think the opposite. For me, the walks.
