Hello. I have been playing MtG for more than a decade but honestly I have never really had a chance to play EDH. Recently I learned of an EDH playgroup that I could join from time to time. To do this, however, I need a deck. I'm really only looking to fulfill a few basic criteria:
1. I want to have Reya Dawnbringer in my deck, because I got one from a pack way back at the Invasion prerelease and I've always wanted to use it.
2. I want the deck to be reasonably good. Not degenerate, but something that will put up a fight.
3. I want the deck to be reasonably costed. I am willing to spend a bit of money on this, but I'd rather not break the bank.
I would really like some advice on the above. It's just a list I made up based on what I heard about the format, with no real first-hand knowledge on it. No idea on whether any of the cards are really good or what the ratio of creatures to spells and lands should be.
I know I need to cut this list down to a hundred cards. I want to cut out either all the artifacts or all the land search from the ramp section. Right now I am thinking on keeping the artifacts, since I want to be able to tutor for Desolation Angel and kick it if the table is getting too land-happy. That should leave me with a little more than ten cards to cut, but I am not sure what those cards should be. I would love to get some advice, especially if there are any powerful options I could bring in that don't cost very much.
Because the deck is based around creature recursion, I made a conscious decision to run creature-based answers. I chose Mageta over Wrath of God, Acidic Slime over Vindicate, etc. I also tried to limit my 1-for-1 removal (I only went with the ones that had a lot of utility) because going 1-for-1 in a multiplayer game seems like a losing proposition.
As a newbie, I would greatly appreciate some advice on where my train of thought went wrong.

you are somewhat right, though i would argue that Mageta and magus of the disk are too slow. When you want to wrath you don't want to wait a turn to tap it.
I would maybe avoid the token sub-theme you sort of have going on with Ghave and Armarda Wurm as well. Reanimator tends to be better of with cards rather than tokens and unless you are running some kind of token abuse they are somewhat sub-par.
Lastly, I cannot cannot cannot recommend birthing pod enough. Its absolutely amazing in pretty much any green deck, especially a deck that is looking to abuse the graveyard
Not to toot my own horn, but my Teneb deck (in my sig) is pretty good. I especially like being able to wipe the board and chain Karmic Guide returning Sun Titan targetting Animate Dead bring back Angel of Despair destroying one of their permanants.
Thanks for the responses guys. A lot of those cards seem like pretty sweet inclusions. I also recognize that I might need immediate Wrathing some of the time, so I am thinking to include a single sweeper to tutor for. Are there any general rules of thumb for the ratio of creatures/spells/ramp/land?
Edit: I cut the deck down a bit and swapped a few cards for the suggested ones in the thread. For sweeping I chose to go with False Prophet and add some sac outlets so I could get rid of it anytime I want. I particularly like Dimir House Guard because it searches out False Prophet and serves as a sac outlet at the same time. I kept Mageta around because he is a discard outlet aside from being a sweeper. I was also able to trim the infinite combo down to two cards by swapping Corpsejack/Mephidross with Mikaeus. That was a great suggestion! If I get some extra cash I would love to bring Karmic Guide, Survival of the Fittest and Birthing Pod. If I counted right I still need to cut a couple of cards. Don't know which ones yet. I really like the ones in there now!

Also, try Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. Staple for a recursion based deck and is another combo with Triskelion
