Okay, to start off with, I am trading for these, so I'm looking for space in the deck. I am trying to keep it competitive, but I LOVE Flavour!! Some cards will stay just for that.. I will also try to make this deck look the best, where it makes sense.. Aka I prefer the Xia Dun from Portal 3 Kingdoms... But I cannot afford it I prefer older looking cards to newer ones. I will explain if it's a flavor reason it's there. The Cabal is excluded from the deck for being Terrible, and when do you ever see the main evil guy when his minions do all the dirty work? The goal is enough lifegain to continue to fuel Chainer's effects, as well as the "Lose 1 life, do something totally worth paying double for" effects.

Those are the ones I remembered. No real issues with power level of cards, unfairness or unfunness (Word? Is now) of cards. Only Shop banned card is Omniscience, and that I feel shouldn't even be banned (Yet we allow Azusa to have Boundless Realms? We Allow Maelstrom Wanderer to have Crystal Shard? Vish Kal can run Mikaeus? Meh, I don't run Blue for now anyways...)

Chainer is usully very mana hungry. From my experience my wins come from mana doublers. You don't seem to run any. Take a look at those :

I find Beseech the Queen as an efficient budget tutor for mono black and I run it in my Chainer build. Speaking of which... I recommend you take a look at my Chainer deck, structured around a "sacrifice" theme.

It's not very budget. I don't mind dropping the cash for a demonic tutor, I just haven't yet.

How has this performed in testing? You seem to be running too few lands given some of the high CMC cards in your deck.

Seems to be doing okay as far as drawing lands so far. I replaced the cards in the to update section with some of te bad ones in the deck.

I'd use Phage The Untouchable with Dauthi Embrace. Two cost for giving shadow to a wincon? Heck yes.

Is your playgroup ok with Phage?
