So I used to have a Wort, the Raidmother deck and I recently put it back together, but I found myself not having much fun playing it this time around. My lovely girlfriend had a copy of Thromok the Insatiable in her trade binder, and I decided to give him a turn at the plate. I've only played a few games with this deck so far, but it's been a really fun stack and I think he'll be sticking around for awhile.
Two thoughts:
First, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Siege Gang Commander might be good enough to warrant running Goblin Matron. While it is possible you would draw all three together, it is pretty unlikely and both the goblin targets are pretty amazing engines.
Birthing Pod: By far the most efficient way to come back after someone nukes the board. Going from a token creature and a dream to Sylvan Primordial and a swarm of creatures always feels nice.

"Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered,
those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid.
Thus the wise win before the fight, while the ignorant fight to win."

Gaea's Cradle is a card I sold awhile back when i was hard-up for cash, and rebuying it is still well outside of my price range. Earthcraft is a little bit more attainable, but almost as broken. I'll have to see if I can hunt it down.
Saproling Burst is cute, but I won't be playing it for the same reason as Dragon Broodmother; putting counters on tokens is just too damn confusing.
Birthing Pod is great, and totally deserving of a slot. However, to be at its most effective, it will require a restructuring of the creature curve, which will require some thought.

Second, Burn at the Stake seems stronger than Fling unless you are really concerned about Thromok the Insatiable getting tucked.
P.S.: This deck might want Insurrection to help break a stand off. Also, Slate of Ancestry?

Earthcraft and Gaea's Cradle: Nothing like taking your massive token army and using them to fuel a sudden, fatal Thromok.
Saproling Burst: For that classic Fires deck feeling.
