Karador is one of my favorite generals to play. He gives such versatility with your graveyard-at least this toolbox version. Using your graveyard as a resource of this magnitude is wonderful! It gives so many options, sometimes knowing which option is best can be tricky. Most games, I never even play Karador but the whole deck is themed around him still. The deck is pretty resilient even to graveyard hate. Just don't lose track of what resources you have in your graveyard.
To start out lets get some needed info. Magic Type: Paper magic Deck type: Commander Commander:Karador, Ghost Chieftain Playgroup: Competitive Casual(Griefer cards OK, 5th turn combos not OK) Budget: None Restrictions: None Themes: Creatures, Recursion Focus: Self Mill, Proactive, Creature(card) advantage, Toolbox Player Type: Spike, Timmy Playstyle: Go broke or go home, large graveyard, 'Fear me'
PROs and CONs of Karador, Ghost Chieftain commanding this particular deck You will like this deck if you like:
Lots of Creatures
Recurring lots of creatures
Using your graveyard as card advantage
Complicated play style
Not needing your commander to assure victory
Griefer cards
You will NOT like this deck if you like:
Non permanent cards
To not be the target
Infinite combos
Need your general to win
To win in unique ways, aka not turning creatures sideways
DECKLIST: Until my next recursion(pun intended), I give to you my go at a Karador, Ghost Chieftain Commander deck. fyi: Sorted Functionally!
Looks pretty eventful, what is the purpose of the deck? Early Game
Know how and what to muligan, we use partial paris, as mtgcommander suggests. Get rid of anything that is not a land and does not help you get the other cards you need early game, which are outlined below.
The deck NEEDS graveyard fuel. The best way to get this is Bazaar of Baghdad. Get it any way you can(don't read-cheat). The other, less good, option is entomb for Life from the Loam. Hermit crab also fills your graveyard sufficiently to cast Karador for 3CMC, due to the lack of basic lands. And if need be you can Survival of the Fittest into Hermit Crab, or even Golgari Grave-Troll.
Mid Game-Late Game
-Hopefully by now you have gotten some way to Cheat your fatties in play, just sit back and let the cards do the work for you. If you dont have a away to do that, then just cast Karador. Hopefully your graveyard is full of things you would rather have in play *if* you followed the early game plan.
-If you are ahead in board position hold back the good stuff in your hand and wait for a board/graveyard wipe, so you will be able to recover after such an event. If it was only a board wipe, cast Karador and rebuild with ease.
-Each creature is packed with power so don't forget to turn creatures sideways for dmg each turn.
-End game will just have a huge board and if people don't have graveyard hate you are very hard to beat outside of combos.
Deck All-Stars: Bazaar of Baghdad-This build would simply not function fully without it. Period. Basically the best tool to almost any graveyard abused EDH deck. Strands of the Night-Instant speed creature recursion, I think so! Works well with Crucible & Loam, Prismatic Omen & Urborg. Survival of the Fittest-Tutor up all my yummy goodness with one card, why not?! Lurking Predators-Every other card is a bomb. Hermit Druid-Fuels the yard o so well.
Utility Lands: Kor Haven-Maze of Ith that produces mana. Yavimaya hollow-Saves your best creature! Volrath's Stronghold-When all else is wiped, lands remain, oh and your ridiculously large graveyard. Mosswort Bridge-When do you not have 10+power? Svogthos, the Restless Tomb-Hits really hard. Homeward Path-Keeps you from getting killed by your own Briberyed creature. Grim Backwoods-Hard to kill sac outlet. Draws a card to boot! Diamond Valley-Hard to kill sac outlet. Doesn't cost mana to activate and gains too much life to be ignored. Strip Mine-Kills other good lands, works wonders with Crucible. Bazaar of Baghdad-Ultimate awesomeness in this deck. Fills your hand with lands/enchantments/anything you need, all the while filling your graveyard with creatures.
Ramp
Crucible of Worlds-Works great each turn with a fetch, or the eviler one: Strip Mine Prismatic Omen-Not strictly ramp, as all these cards are not strictly ramp, but allows all my utility lands to produce any color I need, including ones that don't normally produce any mana! Also works with Strands of the Night. Grisly Savage-Dig for lands while filling graveyard with creatures. Mulch-Dig for lands while filling your graveyard with creatures. Whoa dejavu. Life from the Loam-Getting this Entombed turn 1 is awesome. Fills the graveyard each turn and ensures you always hit your land drop.
Tutor
Bazaar of Baghdad Tutor:also can get Petrified field or any other card if Bazaar is already on the battlefield. Vampiric Tutor, Imperial Seal, Demonic Tutor-Gets Bazaar or a creature cheater, or whatever you need to silver bullet at the time. Sylvan Scrying, Expedition Map-Gets Bazaar or Cabal Coffers, or anything useful at the time.
Strands of the Night-Instant speed recursion ftw. Lurking Predators-Hits so often its lol. Hunting Grounds-Suprise them with the exact card needed for the situation, from your hand. Debtors Knell-I hear free repeated recursion is decent. Works for any graveyard. Deadbridge Chant-I heard someone once say repeatable recursion is decent. Also fills your yard for you.
This is for you guys to fill out, because I'm sure I missed lots, and I will also note why I left some out when you bring them up.
All the creatures had to do something not just be big, or else I would have included Lord of Extinction. Lord of extinction-This card I really want to be good, but just never is. All they need is 1 creature to block. Svogthos works good in this spot anyways. Puppiteer Clique-Just not as good as Reya or Sheoldred.Sylvan Primordial-Since I don't have that many forests, I would rather have Terrastidon. Can also kill more than one of the same guys stuff if needed. Sol Ring-eh I have sol ring in like 15 decks, just trying to stay on theme-creatures and recursion.
Cards I still want to shove in the deck
Akroma's Vengeance-Best card to start the game fresh, just in case they get Humility out there and no one else can kill it, because I know I can't. Fauna Shaman-Survival of the fittest on a stick. bytheby, why do we call creatures 'stick's? lol
Deck Matchups
The decks worst matchups is any deck that has Humility, or decks with a quick start. The longer the game goes, the better this deck usually does.
Since it is a toolbox deck you can recurr whatever you need at the time.
If you need creature destruction get a creature which does that like Pestilence Demon.
Pesky general, get Visara the Dreadful.
Hexproff voltron? Get Fleshbag Marauder
Same goes for artifact/enchantment destruction, like Acidic Slime
Against combo, get Mindslicer
Agaisnt board wipes get Auramancer which starts your fuel quickly. Karador into Auramancer into Debtor's Knell, or Karador into Loyal Retainers into Sheoldred.
Theres a little something in there for everyone, you just need to learn what it is.
Looking forward to feedback from the community and how I can improve this deck, thanks so much for taking the time to look it over!
Also if you see broken links please tell me about them so I can get them corrected please.
Card draw: Skullclamp is the absolute best card draw you could get. Well not technically, that would be Necropotence, but you need card draw to keep from stalling out. Harvester of Souls fills the card draw role nicely too.
As for weaknesses, you've left yourself wide open to Humility and Torpor Orb effects, which you mentioned, as well as graveyard exiling effects like Tormod's Crypt. I always recommend mixing your removal among creature and non-creature removal, and not relying solely on ETB effects. If your meta is as competitive as it sounds, they should really be adapting to your deck and packing hate.
I already have 3 tutor cards, and these dont play well with dredge. I might find a spot for one of them, Probs Green Sun's Zenith because it's easier to cast.

Skullclamp didn't seem on theme enough(being creatures), but I suppose it is equipment which can only target creatures. I will think about this, but it brings my creature count down again. Something else like Disciple of Bolas would be awesome. Harvester seems conditional, but I have never seen it played.

Torpor Orb doesnt bother me, neither does exiling my graveyard once. I can recover from both. I have tried to build in redundancy so that everything I can do, I can do it twice, in case of removal. And in the unlikely event that they get rid of both Archon and Necrotic sliver I have Riftsweeper to get one of them back.
I am however vulnerable to Humility(which no one in my meta plays), so I think I need a Beast withing.
This is just one of my many many EDH decks, other decks that have no creatures, don't care about the graveyard etc, and hard to pack so much hate into one deck and still have the deck function. And I can recover from a Tormod's Crypt just fine. It's the 2nd and really 3rd one that gets me. I have still won when my graveyard has been removed twice, but on that game I had a huge battlefield already so the graveyard removal did not affect me that much.

Why I Chose this Decklist
Lands
Savannah, Scrublands, Bayou
Temple Garden, Godless Shrine, Overgrown Tomb
Windswept heath, Marsh flats, Verdant Catacombs
Murmuring bosk, Command Tower
Swamp, Plains, Forest
Multi mana producers:
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth-Often produces more than one because it makes Bazaar of Baghdad or Diamond Valley tap for mana.
Cabal Coffers-Really?
Serra's Sanctum-I like to have two enchantments out at a time.
Gaea's Cradle-Gogo creatures!
Petrified Field-read: gets back Cabal Coffers. or Bazaar of Baghdad
Crypt of Agadeem-Big graveyard=more mana
Thespian's Stage-read: Cabal Coffers #2, also any other great land you want!
Utility Lands:
Kor Haven-Maze of Ith that produces mana.
Prismatic Omen-Not strictly ramp, as all these cards are not strictly ramp, but allows all my utility lands to produce any color I need, including ones that don't normally produce any mana!
Creature Tutor:
Entomb-Early game this gets Life from the Loam, late game gets any silver bullet needed to stime your opponent.
Birthing Pod-Chain up
Survival of the Fittest-Chain any way you need.
Oversold Cemetery-Gets back anything your opponent doesn't want you to have.
Cheating fatties
Lurking Predators-Hits so often its lol.
Hunting Grounds-Suprise them with the exact card needed for the situation, from your hand.
Debtors Knell-I hear free repeated recursion is decent. Works for any graveyard.
Deadbridge Chant-I heard someone once say repeatable recursion is decent. Also fills your yard for you.
Karador Fuel-Disruption
Pinpoint removal-all permanents and non creature
Acidic Slime, Archon of Justic, Terastodon, Angel of Despair, Necrotic Sliver-Some do it as ETB, some as they exit the battlefield, other as sac effect. The variety makes it hard to counter Torpor orb, Rest in Peace, etc. Humilty gets around it all tho
Spot Removal-creature
Willow Satyr, Visara the Dreadful, Duplicant-They all get rid of whichever pesky creature is bothing you, or their commander
Mass Removal
Magus of the Disk, Elsh Norn, Grand Cenobite,Massacre Wurm, Pestilence Demon, Necrotic Ooze(if MotD is in graveyard)-Wipes board completely, or just clears token decks/all creatures with Pestilence.
Graveyard Removal
Geth, Lord of the Vault, Scavenging Ooze-Only I am allowed to abuse the graveyard thank you very much!
Sacrifice removal
It That Betrays, Sheoldred, Whispering One, Fleshbag Marauder-Gets around nexproof and indistructable, and if they only have 1 big creature on their board. Doesn't get rid of Sigarda tho.
Spell-slinging Distruption
Mindslicer-Clears everyone's hand. Oh noez my hand is now in my yard, what will I do?!
Nullstone Gargoyle-Pain in the rear end for alot of decks. They need to have something to throw away and the mana to be able to do it.
Iona, Shield of Emeria-Very unpolitical card, unless Johnny Combo is about to win, then everyone else loves you. warning: Use with care.
Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger-Halves mana ftw.
Gaddoc Teeg-Allows only creature decks to thrive.
Karador Fuel-Advantage
Recursion
Sheoldred, Whispering One, Reya Dawnbringer,Karmic Guide, Reveillark, Loyal Retainers, Artisan of Kozilek-Whats the point in having creatures in the graveyard if you can't get them back? Nothing. Unless you want to give them to your opponent, which you don't.
Eternal Witness, Auramancer, Monk Idealist, Sun Titan-The deck needs to have one of its enchantments out if its going to be overpowered, and these get those things back.
Riftsweeper-Just in case you really needed that specific card to not lose, and it was exiled. Now you have it again.
Creature Protection
Saffi Eriksdotter, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Twilight Shepard, Adakar Valkyrie, Avacyn, Angel of Hope-With all those creatures on the battlefield, might as well protect them. Each in their own unique way too.
Tutors
Knight of the Reliquary, Rune-Scarred Demon, Academy Rector-Gets the key components whether its gas(Bazaar, Hermit, Cabal Coffers, Disciple of Bolas, Debtors Knell), disruption(Strip Mine, Iona, Gaeddok, spot removal), or game closers(Massacure Wurm, Iona, Svogthos, etc).
Ramp
Sakura-Tribe Elder, Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, Hermit Druid-Every EDH deck needs at least a little ramp. Ok Vorinclex is alot of ramp, but same principle. the Druid also doubles as card advantage.
Golgari Grave-Troll-Card advantage when used correctly
Karador Fuel-sac outlets
Necrotic Ooze-While not strickly a sac outlet, with this guy on the table and one of the outlets in the yard, he works wonders and often suprises the opponents!
Disciple of Bolas-Outlet which draws lots of cards, yes please!
Disciple of Griselbrand-Since you will be a target life gain is good.
Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter-Zap those pesky creatures
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord-Nice synergy with Svogthos.
All the creatures had to do something not just be big, or else I would have included Lord of Extinction.
Lord of extinction-This card I really want to be good, but just never is. All they need is 1 creature to block. Svogthos works good in this spot anyways.

Beaters:
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord is both a giant beater in your deck, but a wincon by himself. Kokusho, the Morning Star is similarily impressive.

Jared is in the deck, under sac outlets though. Kokusho is also good, but not sure what to cut for him. I think Jared is just better.
I already have 3 tutor cards, and these dont play well with dredge. I might find a spot for one of them, Probs Green Sun's Zenith because it's easier to cast.
