A tiny bit of background: I used to play Magic when i was younger and stopped playing around '96 or '97. Got back into Magic around the time of Innistrad. After meeting more players, a few are suggesting that I make an EDH deck.
I dont really have the card pool to make an EDH out of the existing cards I do have, but I've always liked Glissa, the Traitor as a card.
I've looked at the other Glissa threads and using some of the SOM/INN cards I do have, I've made up this list:
This adds up to 97 cards, leaving room for 3 more cards.
I know very little about EDH; And even less on what to evaluate as a good or bad deck overall. I've picked cards that were inexpensive or ones that I already had (like Vraska, Mikaeus, Abrupt Decay, and Sheoldred). The rest of the cards end up being about $32 to purchase. I'd like to keep the price (and suggested cards) as low as possible since this will be my entry into the format. I'll happily spend more once I get a better understanding of the format. Also, I'd prefer if they were modern bordered cards, but I'm not entirely opposed to the old ones.
I really have no idea what other cards to get, what to improve, or if I'm missing something or not creating a cohesive strategy. Maybe I have too much removal? Not enough creatures? Too many utility lands? Too few lands?
Didn't really look over the deck, but I'll ask you this: What's the deck trying to do? BGgoodstuff.dec? Win with commander damage? If you don't really know and just gathered a bunch of cards in Glissa's colors together, imo you'd be best off in determining on what you want to accomplish with the deck.
As for understanding the format, EDH is at it's best as a casual multiplayer game. Some treat is as a hypercompetitive 1v1 game with the best cards money can buy, but ideally, EDH isn't necessarily about the destination (i.e. winning), but the journey (i.e. a fun game of Magic).
As Darth said above me its best when coming into the format to first determine a general strategy and then try to build a deck that does two things interact with the board state while simultaneously advancing your said strategy.
With that all being said I personally love Glissa, the Traitor, she is one of my favorite generals. And around my playgroup she is both a feared and loved deck.
Some cards to get you started that our great tools for Glissa to have are Acorn Catapult, Genesis Chamber, and a way to sac artifacts and kill your opponents creatures.
Basically Glissa is at her best when you can continually kill your opponents critters and reap small bits of incremental card advantage to eventually squeeze out a win.
