This is a rough first draft of a control/disruption strategy with Sydri, Galvanic Genius at the helm. Other than the beautiful art and low CMC, what drew me to Sydri is her first ability. I like it because not only does it turn signets and the like into potential attackers/blockers, but with Liquimetal Coating it allows you to destroy a land for just one blue mana. So, the idea behind this deck is to control the game either through permission, removal, and/or hand/mana disruption and then win with a strong threat like Batterskull, Wurmcoil Engine, Lodestone Golem, or any of the planeswalkers.
There are some conspicuous cards absent from the deck. Memnarch and Mycosynth Lattice were left out simply because of their high CMC. It's possible they are good enough to justify a slot (particularly given the artifact mana ramp in the deck). Like I said, though, this is just a rough first draft. I'd like to get some criticism/ideas about this deck. Thanks.

Griselbrand is pretty straightforward (in the same way that a nuclear holocaust is straightforward); just draw some cards, beat some face, bathe in the blood of some innocent, and repeat.
I haven't had a chance to test it yet. I don't have many opportunities to play Duel Commander, but I may get to this Saturday. I'll report back with a report, but in the meantime I'd appreciate any input.

Suggested Additions:
I would put a trading post in there. It has lots of utility that this deck wants.
Scepter of fugue is slow, but basically wins the game against any control deck.
Dystopia is good against large parts of the metagame, and it doesn't really affect you at all.
Suggested Cuts: Azorious Charm is not what you want, putting a creature on top is only good against aggro and your general gives your creatures lifelink. Hero's downfall will work far better.
Unmake seems kind of expensive, you might as well run another wrath over it like black sun's zenith, which you can tutor with muddle and shred memory.
Dystopia wins you the game the second you play it against several decks. Anything running white and green takes so huge hit. (Derevi,Jenara,Geist, gaaiv, teeg, marath, the list continues). Your mana seems really loose I think we should work on this. For one you want more lands. Second you went some basics to play around blood moon.

So him never having Sydri out 'doesn't really affect him'?
I don't think it's good in this deck.
If you have dystopia in play, simply choose not to play sydri and hold up counter magic while their board gets wiped out. You can also just play anything else in your deck since you have no other white permanents that can be affected by dystopia.
If you draw dystopia while sydri is in play, I assume your winning since your general has not died and your artifacts are going on the offensive. If your behind in the game, then sacrificing your general once is well worth the cost of winning the game.
Since there are many tutors in this deck, it would be a valuable tool to search for.

He's running tainted pact, he can't really put more basics in. Plus, all of those mana artifacts get around blood moon.
What can be added manabase-wise are the artifact lands, which will work well with both tezzerets.
+1 Black Sun's Zenith
+1 Dystopia
+1 Ancient Den
+1 Seat of the Synod
+1 Vault of Whispers
I should be able to test it a bit this weekend.

Griselbrand is pretty straightforward (in the same way that a nuclear holocaust is straightforward); just draw some cards, beat some face, bathe in the blood of some innocent, and repeat.
Game one he was able to reanimate a Griselbrand early. I had a Liquimetal Coating in play, which I used to turn Griselbrand into an artifact and then Disenchant him. In response my opponent drew seven with Griselbrand (dropping himself to 14 life), but wasn't able to find an answer to the Disenchant. Either than turn or the next I played a Lodestone Golem which did its thing and closed out game one.
Game two was very long, as we both resolved turn three or four Phyrexian Arena. He was able to remove mine after I drew five or so cards off it, while his Arena stayed on board the entire game (I'm not exaggerating when I say he probably drew 20 cards with it). He beat me down for a long time with a Sin Collector. Towards the end of the game he had Liliana of the Veil in play and I had Jace the Mind Scultpor. He also had a Batterskull but I was able to keep neutralizing it with Sydri (by making the Batterskull itself into a creature). When I was down to five or six life he got his Liliana up to six loyalty, but used the -2 to make me sacrifice Sydri. His Arena brought him down to two life and he tried to flashback an Unburial Rites, but I responded by removing the key cards from his yard with Shred Memory. After that he scooped.
I don't remember much of the details of this match. I lost game one to a Thrun. Game two went longer, and I was able to get Academy Ruins plus Oblivion Stone going, but he kept Yavimaya Hollow and a green open so he was able to constantly keep at least one creature on board. I was unable to catch up, though, and he got me.
In game one I kept a greedy opening hand of Wasteland, two mana rocks, and some business. I never drew another land and paid the price for my foolishness. In game two he just beat down with three dorky goblins and a Coat of Arms. I needed a sweeper and didn't draw one.
When I saw Talrand on the other side of the table I thought this would be a tough fight through bounce and counters. In game one I had turn one Inquisition of Kozilek, and I saw two Islands, Boseiju, Riptide Laboratory, Ponder, Rootwater Thief, and Tidal Courier. I took the Rootwater Thief and was confused. I ended up getting Sydri and Liquimetal Coating in play, and he scooped when he saw that I was going to leave him with no lands (and he hadn't drawn any real gas). Early in game two I was able to Thoughtseize him and I saw two Islands, Downpour, Cosi's Trickster, Wanderwine Prophets, and Jace Beleren. He was surprised when I chose the Jace. Again I was able to blow up his lands before he could get anything going and he scooped.
Unfortunately I never drew the Tezzerets in the entire tournament. I think the deck needs at least one more sweeper and one more land. I think I'd replace Recoil with Damnation. I'm not sure right now what I'd take out for the land. I also think it needs more artifacts, and Mycosynth Lattice is probably worth including despite its high mana cost. Blowing up a land for one blue mana is just too good.
I'm going to put the deck aside for the moment because I have something else I want to try. I'm not abandoning this deck, though. I think it has a lot of potential.

Staff of Nin is pretty bonkers in this deck !! Its even more strong with Unwinding Clock on the feild. Voltaic Construct and mana rocks like gilded lotus will give you infinite mana.

I should be able to test it a bit this weekend.
He can add Snow-Covered Island, Snow-Covered Plains and Snow-Covered Swamp. That with 9 fetches should be enough.
Round 1: Merieke Ri Berit
Game one he was able to reanimate a Griselbrand early. I had a Liquimetal Coating in play, which I used to turn Griselbrand into an artifact and then Disenchant him. Round 3: Krenko
In game one I kept a greedy opening hand of Wasteland, two mana rocks, and some business. I never drew another land and paid the price for my foolishness. In game two he just beat down with three dorky goblins and a Coat of Arms. I needed a sweeper and didn't draw one.
Round 4: Talrand

In game one I had turn one Inquisition of Kozilek, and I saw two Islands, Boseiju, Riptide Laboratory, Ponder, Rootwater Thief, and Tidal Courier. I took the Rootwater Thief and was confused.
