There’s a plethora of Teysa decks. This adds nothing new, but I wanted to make a grindy Orzhov deck without any infinite combos. Synergy, plenty of removal, the ability to come out ahead in the attrition war and profit from it. If I wanted pure power I’d set up some combos, increase the tutor suite, and go for it. That’s how I built Vish Kal.
Mostly it’s fun to sit down with a deck that’s not going to overpower a table, is certainly beatable, but can hold it’s own.
The deck could use tuning, but it plays with cards that I’ve been wanting to play with and make work, like Pontiff of Blight and Grave Betrayal and the infamous Preacher. If I keep it around I’ll probably trade some token production for more artifact/enchantment removal. Needs a Gate to Phyrexia.
I doubt I’ll ever make a full on ‘stax’ deck, but I do like using stax elements in my decks. I have a bant deck that focuses on keeping everything tapped down. That’s the deck where the orbs shine. This deck focuses on the Smokestack effects. I’m actually thinking about some land destruction as well since I’m equipped with Crucible and Black Market.
Strands of Night could be good here as well to keep things going.

Dark Prophecy seems pretty nuts here. The main risk is that you will kill yourself with it but you have enough stax & enchantment removal to make it less risky.
@jakalova, the altars have been looked into, I love 'em, but not in this deck. Especially since I just took out the Deathmantle for Corpse Dance. Strands of Night is one of those cards I go back and forth on... I look at in the binder whenever building a deck like this and I should probably try it out.
@jayr, I need to get a copy to try it out. In a grindy sac deck with extort stuff going on, I think it'd be fine. My one thought is, though I want a full hand, I don't want to draw 10 cards at once since I'm not trying to go off. Card advantage rather than card flood...
@Zero.... Strionic Resonator with Grave Pact... so juicy... Yeah, will try it out for sure.

How I know I should build a deck:
Yes! I have one and never play with it.
I think I'll drop Nim Deathmantle since that's more conditional and needs the mana up at the time of creature dying.
