Aurelia is one angry angel, and she loves swinging into the red zone. This deck is designed to take advantage of multiple attacks and dealing combat damage.
The deck came about because I pulled a Sword of Light and Shadows in the Modern Masters draft. I wanted to find a home for it and already had an equipment deck, but it was a slower control deck that quite frankly wasn't doing well in the face of recent changes in my meta, so I stripped it and a Basandra deck I had tested, acquired the other swords, and used the parts to build something a little more aggressive.
I've been playing the deck an few weeks, and I'm dying to get a Strionic Resonator for this and several other decks once it becomes available.
Given that I was using equipment tutors, I decided to try out a Sunforger package. In theory, Sunforger is great, but every deck I have ever put it in, I have eventually cut it out because it takes too many slots. This time, I tried to limit the package to the barest of essentials. It now only includes: Boros Charm - indestructible protection with other options Ghostway - anti-sweeper protection and a way to retrigger ETB effects Master Warcraft - gives me some control over combat Return to Dust - solid removal Wild Ricochet - their removal becomes my removal x2
and Mistveil Plains to throw them back in the library so I can Sunforge them again
It doesn't seem to me like this deck is really that aggressive or combat based. When I look at it, about 50% of the cards seem more good-stuff than aggressive. If you're just trying to make red-white control or midrange, I suggest you use a different general. If you're actually attempting to use Aurelia to her fullest with tons of combat-oriented spells, and take out cards such as Wild Ricochet, Aura of Silence, Luminarch Ascension, Sunblast Angel, Lieutenant Kirtar, and some more cards. However, I do see great potential in this deck, so keep working

This deck wins primarily through beatdown. The first game, I had an indestructible, unblockable, pro-every color, shrouded beatstick that created three triggers every time it hit someone, and the equipment was all shrouded on top of that. I'd say that a deck with three ways to get extra combat phases, eighteen things that trigger upon attacking or dealing combat damage, and a host of other tools to make my creatures more aggressive is pretty centered on combat.
Is it a finalized decklist? No. I'm still looking for a other options. Is every card devoted to combat? No - a one-trick pony is bound to lose in multiplayer when someone casts a card that completely shuts down that strategy. Is it the fastest possible aggro build? No - I play multiplayer, and overextending to draw first blood and kill one player just means you are target number one for everybody else.
That being said, I am certainly open to on-theme suggestions for stuff to add. I have considered several other cards and am looking for more, especially if you have any R suggestions (this deck is heavily slanted towards white). I'm trying to get another copy of Balefire Dragon, and I am debating Aggravated Assault and/or Savage Beating.
Once I get cards to put in, I'll figure out what to cut, but it likely won't be Sunblast Angel or Lieutenant Kirtar - these are both removal spells with an evasive body that can carry swords into battle rather than wasting an entire slot on an instant or sorcery. Additionally, Kirtar can be recurred each turn by Sun Titan.
After selecting a general the first card to put into any EDH deck is Sol Ring.
If you're looking for some early aggro, Serra Ascendant is a nice one drop. Also, take a look at Assemble the Legion. It starts slow but they have to either deal with the enchantment or continually deal with an onslaught of tokens.
Luminarch Ascension seems out of place in an equipment deck.
Savage Beating ends games.
Ferropede seems weak. Is there a specific reason you include this, other than it's unblockable? Your equipment gives you plenty of evasion.
Why no Umezawa's Jitte?
Soltari Gorillas are cool tech.
Leonin Shikari is nice. I want to put him in my RW equipment deck.
Your deck seems light on ramp, especially with a 6 cmc general. What about Land Tax, Tithe, Eternal Dragon, Gift of Estates, Kor Cartographer, or Explorer's Scope?
