I have been wanting to build a deck Epic Experiment, Future Sight & Storm cards in general. I also really wanted to base a deck on one card and that card wasn’t my general. I know I could’ve done this with a red/blue general but, for my purposes, I needed mana acceleration so I added green and use Riku of Two Reflections. Which isn’t the worst choice at all. I started writting this up and it wound up being a primer. This would be my first attempt at a primer so go easy on that part.
I’ve got a really impressive win/loss record in my play group. However, this relies on me looking like I’m fooling around just accelerating or drawing cards. That’s when I’ve got them right where I want them. It also relies on there being a bigger immediate at the table. This is definitely not a deck for 1v1.
You’ll like this deck if:
-You like playing combo
-You like searching your deck
-You like playing unusual decks
-You like taking extra turns
-You’re not afraid of losing friends
You’ll hate this deck if:
-You like interacting with your opponents
-You like your playgroup
-You don’t like playing into counterspells
-You don’t like one-trick-pony decks
This deck has the capability of setting off two or more Epic Experiment s in a turn. There’s no point in casting Epic Experiment for less than 10, the highest casting cost in the deck, unless you’re not going to make it through your next turn. When you set off the second Epic Experiment you’ve got the game in the bag. What you want to see is four or more instants or sorceries and at least one of them has storm. Most people actually pack their cards up and get ready for the next game but still watching how things play out. Just a warning, this is a very non-interactive deck and you will likely get hated on afterwards.
I thought there are a few cards that deserve some high lighting and justification. Though this doesn’t get my Epic Experiment directly it does get me three cards I can use right away
The only combination I’m aware that is in the deck is Epic Experiment, Recoup & Mystical Retrieval. It really doesn’t matter what you do I can cast Epic Experiment. If you see any other combos or are aware of any combos that I should add please leave your comments in the bottom.
Cards Not Included:
There aren’t many counterspells in this deck for two reasons.
1) I don’t want this deck to be too unfair.
2) I don’t want to turn up counterspells when Epic Experiment is cast. Cryptic Command & Muddle the Mixture are in the deck for their utility, not strictly as counterspells. Omniscience – I did use this and it does combo well with Future Sight or Magus of the Future, but it’s not that useful outside that. Again it’s just another card you don’t want to flip when the Epic Experiment is cast.
I love to see comments and make improvements to my decks. As usual, if you make suggestions for cards to add, please tell me what I should take out.

Up until recently I had a Nivix Guildmage and an Eternal Witness, but when Melek, Izzet Paragon came out there was a new plan. With Melek, Izzet Paragon (as the only creature in the deck) and a Proteus Staff allows me to stack my deck and then Melek, Izzet Paragon back for more shenanigans that will likely get me severely beaten.

Stitch in Time
Urban Evolution
