So I've been toying around with building a Kresh deck for awhile, and I haven't been sure what direction to take it. Spiritmonger has always been a pet card of mine, but he's really bad in EDH outside of his synergy with Contested Cliffs. That's when AVR gave me this little nugget. I decided it's time to build a Fight Club deck.
I have a shell of the deck built, but I really need some help rounding out the rest of the deck. Here's what I have so far:
Most of the critters in the Fight Club either don't fight fair (like with deathtouch) or they can take the beating (Spiritmonger, Spearbreaker Behemoth). I think I've got most of the creature choices nailed down, but I'm unsure of what the best support cards would be.
The deck name killed me first off, way too good :P. as for suggestions while staying on theme, maybe Silvos, Rogue Elemental? Was a pit attraction in the lore I think and a solid fattie. Ill add more a it comes to me >.<
First, I'm not sure if I can talk about this deck.
Second, I'm not sure if I can talk about this deck.
...
Have you considered additional ways to regenerate your guys? It seems like another decent way to break the symmetry on the fighting. Yavimaya Hollow seems like a shoo-in for a land, and Broken Fall/Molting Skin are solid and difficult to remove. The normal downside of it not dodging common removal in this format isn't nearly as bad when you're constantly throwing your guys into harm's way.
Wren's Run Packmaster is another solid source of cheating fighters, though you might not be running enough elves to use it. Adding in some of the ramp elves (Wood Elves, Farhaven Elf, Oracle of Mul Daya) is probably not a bad call for the deck anyways and make it a little more feasible.
Other support cards include equipment. Anything that gives a decent size boost or deathtouch means you're more likely to win in a fight, and things like Loxodon Warhammer give you a little life boost in addition to being solid inclusions on their own. Vigor seems like an excellent inclusion, as all of the fighting going around means lots of damage.
Last (and probably least), no Vein Drinker? Right on theme and I'm constantly looking for an excuse to shove that in a deck. I might just like the card more than you, though.

He is on flavor, but I'm not so sure about him. He's not a beast, and the non-beast critters on the list have more abilities than he does. However, talking about pit fighters does bring up Visara the Dreadful who interacts well with Thornbite Staff.
@Weebo: Several good suggestions. I'm updating the list with Yavimaya Hollow, Broken Fall, some fetching elves, and some equipment. Vigor does seem good, but I don't have one and I need to prioritize my cash right now.
I think you like the Vein Drinker more than me. However, I'll include her if the list fills out more and there's an open slot.

Im curious on how Thornbite Staff works with Visara. Does the untap ability trigger if the Staff tap ability is not triggered?
-Also what about Fires of Yavimaya. It will allow for the quick jabs that are so crucial to Fight Club.

- I found two more "fight" cards that don't actually have the keyword: Brawl and Tahngarth.
- Upped ramp by 1 to accommodate high mana curve. I also added more critters to hold equipment and feed devour guys.
- Added a small devour sub-theme. I figure "survival of the fittest" fits a fightin' theme. Plus, I really like the new Planechase 2 dragon. Equip a Basilisk Collar to it, swing and kill their guy in the process.
- Dropped the Hellkite Overlord. I'm not sure if this is a mistake, but I want to lower the curve.
Yeah, it's kind of jank :p. Harmonize is straight up better as it's not conditional. Browbeat never works out the way you want it, as it has the same problem that every card does that gives your opponents a choice - they're never (most of the time) going to choose in your favor.
Where is Triangle of War? I'd run that as well as a Glissa, the Traitor. She's a deathtoucher to fight with, Triangle makes things fight, and when you get them going together, then it gets silly. Also it's expensive but Plague Wind is just silly in Kresh. I'd run Wurmcoil Engine, too. I'd start cutting with Peddler and Onyx Mage for starters. Also the mana would be a pain without Urborg in play, but getting Phyrexian Obliterator to fight things seems sweet.

All very good suggestions. I'll add in the Triangle of War and put Glissa back in (she was in my original list). At the very worst, she acts as a good rattlesnake early on.
Plague Wind is probably a bit higher on the curve than I want to go.
I can free up my Wurmcoil Engine from my Teysa deck and put it in here. Obliterator is cute, but it's way too much ATM for what I would pay for one. I'll throw it on the wishlist.
I'm cutting Nightshade Peddler and Onyx Mage for Glissa and Wurmcoil. Drop Brawl for Triangle of War (easier to recur with Glissa, plus it's asymmetrical). Also, I think I'm going to cut Deathbringer Thoctar. He's cute equipped with Collar or Spike, but he sucks otherwise (he doesn't even fight that well compared to the other beasts). Hellkite Overlord is back in so I have at least one big dumb back-up plan in case things go awry.
Time for a bump. I place an order yesterday to finish the deck off. The only thing I'll be missing is Hellkite Overlord, as there's a guy at my LGS that has one he can trade me next week. I'm hoping I can play this deck for the first time next Friday.
Is Typhoid Rats too cute? It can be regenerated by Swarmyard, but other than that I think it's bad. Thoughts?
Im running kresh deck and its been really underperforming for me i think im going to rebuild it and try something along these lines love the deck and its ozzing with flavor
I've been able to finally play this deck, and I only have a few minor changes and comments.
First, some changes. I was able to pick up a Vigor, so he's in for Brontotherium. Also, I'm fairly unimpressed with Dragon Fangs - I didn't feel like they did much, even when on a deathtouch critter. I replaced them with Tahngarth, Talruum Hero. I didn't realize how much better Tahngarth's ability is compared to normal fighting - he gets to suckerpunch the other guy first :cool2:.
Now, for comments. Glissa and Triangle of War are bananas. Someone in my play group went as far to suggest that I change the name of the deck to "Triangle Man". I may need to move some black tutors over here from another deck so I can more reliably get the Triangle out. However, I need to work on the mana base a bit. I get enough land, but it seems like I'm having trouble fixing all three colors at once. I may need to get some more duals and filters somehow.

This list is pretty outdated as I've pretty much abandoned the Fight Club theme, converting the list into a more traditional Kresh deck. I'll be doing some playtesting on Cockatrice for a bit longer before I post a current list.
I also run a Kresh, the Bloodbraided EDH deck, but I chose the more battle cruiser style, running very large utility creatures to try and punish the table, along with a very strong birthing pod theme. I still need to work on a few things, but its doing very well. You can find my list down below.

Yes. The two abilities are not connected. Visara with Staff can machine gun away creatures.

I think I'm good with card draw effects. I really don't like Feed the Pack here as a) it's hard to recur because it's not a creature and b) it's slow.

I've considered Brontotherium, as he's definitely the best of the provoke critters (Feral Throwback aside). I'll try him out as I wait to trade for a Hellkite Overlord.
Making a few more edits as I have too much free time today.
OUT: Life's Finale, IN: Massacre Wurm
OUT: Hellkite Overlord (temp. moved to wishlist), IN: Brontotherium
OUT: Grave Pact, IN: All is Dust (picked one up on Saturday, and I want to try it out - plus Grave Pact is committed to Teysa ATM)
I'm also hoping I can buy the Primordial Hunger PCH2 deck at my LGS before FNM this week so I can sleeve up a Dragonlair Spider and Preyseizer Dragon.
