"Righteous Legion" came into being after a friend of mine wanted the resit of the RPG group to start playing MTG and bought me a core deck. It has evolved from then, and this is my first try at a deck. I apologise if I post this on the wrong forum, but I have yet to discover what "limited" and "advanced" and all those things are.
For generals I have several options and haven't landed completely on a single one as they all fit the theme of the deck. Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite has a deep hatred for elves and slivers after some recent traumatic events. Akroma, Angel of Wrath is the balanced and confident one, and when in need, Odric, Master Tactician helps out to lead them all to victory.
Some cards are ordered to fit with the theme: Linvala, Keeper of Silence, Emeria, the Sky Ruin, as wel as some other cards, mainly two to reduce casting cost, one for angel creature type, one for white. Advice wanted!
First off.. The deck is very slow. Unless I get Sol Ring in my opening hand, this can be a pain to get into play. It's especially vulnerable vs. decks with small creatures that start fast and end up with huge multipliers. (Elf decks, rats, slivers and so on and so forth.) A really good start is to get Serra Ascendant in my opening hand but that attracts alot of attention.. as the white deck tends to do.
Second.. Heavy creatures require mana. I am hoping to rectify this somewhat with two of the new cards. At the moment the deck is at 39 land cards, all producing mana. I have very few possibilities of fetching land unless Weathered Wayfarer comes into play.
Third.. I'm not the best strategist out there so my deck tends to become a bit of a ragtag as I'm pretty new to this and I WANT EVERYTHING.. probably a very normal newbie problem. Now I have alot of cards generating hitpoints, but somehow cannot manage to get myself aggressive enough to utilize and kill others before they wipe me, even when I sit there with my 120 hitpoints.
Fourth.. as before mentioned.. the deck attracts alot of attention and hence Avacyn is no longer a primary general choice. I get ganged up on immediately. Which means I need more ability to stand against 2-3 players ganging up on me at once.
Thank you for your patience. Any ideas of what I can do and what cards I'm missing?
Hey, looking at your deck, you've pointed out some of the issues that I noticed. Let's hit them one at a time:
You want to hit a land drop every turn, and even more probably. Land Tax and a variety of mana rocks are going to help you out here. You do have Weathered Wayfarer, but you could also use stuff like Pearl Diamond, Mind Stone, etc. You're also getting Pearl Medallion and Thawing Glaciers so those will help as well. Endless Horizons may be worth playing depending on whether you think your opponents will target it.
You do have a lot of big creatures. Quicksilver Amulet will help here. However, what you really need to do is cut back on the creatures that cost over 5 mana. It looks like you have 6 guys that fit this description, I would try and cut this down to 3. Especially if you use Akroma or Elesh Norn as your Commander.
Really, though, what you need to do is decide what your focus is going to be. Are you going to be angel themed? Fliers? Tokens? Control? Once you pick your focus you're going to have an easier time deciding what to keep and how to streamline your deck.
Yes, I completely agree with what you are saying. What I'm beginning to wonder here is if maybe I might have the base for one white EDH control or pure angel deck, and one green/white EHD token/enchantment deck. I have Krond the Dawn-Clad somewhere. I would have to buy some extra cards, but there is definately some potential. I am thinking perhaps I should take out most of the token producing cards as they haven't done much for me, and find some of the smaller flying creature cards I have lying about and see if that might help me out some. I even think I have Marble Diamond somewhere. What do you think of Elspeth, Knight-Errant in this deck at all, or should she be moved into a green/white token deck?
If you keep this deck as an angel/control themed deck, you don't need Elspeth in here. In my experience Elspeth works better as either a token enabler, or in helping getting Commander damage through like for a Rafiq deck. So yeah, I would probably move her out.
I do agree that it seems like your deck doesn't quite know what it wants to be: weenies or fatties. Regardless, I'll offer some suggestions.
As far as artifact card draw, there are a few good options. Culling Dais isn't a particularly good card, I'd run Carnage Altar instead. While the mana commitment is higher, the card draw can be spread out over time. Also, if you plan on gaining life frequently, Well of Lost Dreams is incredible. Lastly, Staff of Nin is always a solid inclusion.

First off, it's not perfected when it comes to new cards that are needed. As mentioned above I have placed orders for some cards like: Linvala, Keeper of Silence, Emeria, the Sky Ruin, also there's cards like Wrath of God in the waiting as well as:
Karoo
Dragon Scales
Luminarch Ascension
Marshal's Anthem
Indomitable Archangel
Grand Abolisher
Herald of War
Angel of Jubilation
Blazing Archon
Pearl Medallion
Temple of the False God
Mikaeus, the Lunarch
Return to Dust
Wall of Reverence
Thawing Glaciers
Ok, so main issues:
First off.. The deck is very slow. Unless I get Sol Ring in my opening hand, this can be a pain to get into play. Some of your cards appear as if you want to build a token deck (like Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, True Conviction) but you really don't have enough token enablers. Emeria Angel and Luminous Angel can't do it all on their own, and I don't know if you have enough enchanments for Sigil of the Empty Throne. You're getting Luminarch Ascension, but other possibilities are White Sun's Zenith, Sacred Mesa, Mobilization and Decree of Justice.
Really, though, what you need to do is decide what your focus is going to be. Are you going to be angel themed? Fliers? Tokens? Control? Once you pick your focus you're going to have an easier time deciding what to keep and how to streamline your deck.
For reference, here's an older deck of mine, using Radiant, Archangel as the Commander, maybe you can get a few ideas on where to go: http://puremtgo.com/articles/conqueror-commander-vol-liv-radiant-archangel-1

You do have the beginnings of an angel/control deck. If you take out most of your token themed stuff, like Odric and Sublime Archangel, add in stuff like Wrath of God and Swords to Plowshares, then add a few additional methods of card draw like Illuminated Folio or Seer's Sundial, plus Emeria, the Sky Ruin, you'll be well on your way.

Also, intead of Exile, run Path to Exile and/or Swords to Plowshares. Instead of Banishing Stroke, run Condemn and/or Oblation.
