So, yeah. This is my silly Simic deck based around one of my favorite cards ever, Opposition. Now, the deck cannot search out Opposition nor reliably draw into it, but where's the fun in that, eh? Well, I mean, if I could I would, but c'est la vie. Unless, ya know, I'm missing some relevant search stuff (come on, basement-dwellers, don't fail me now).
The general for this beast should truly be Edric, Spymaster of Trest, given the token and Cradle subthemes, but three of my d-bag friends already have Edric decks, so it looks like Prime Speaker Zegana's my chica.
This deck is incredibly abusive with Cradle in play and has no balls without it. As such, you'd think I'd run more means to recover a bin'd Cradle, eh? Wrong. I don't pursue such trivialities. This is a compilation of win-more cards that will either beat you by smashing in for14,000+ damage (my highest total so far...) or will lose while looking flaccid and pointless.
Blinking Craterhoof Behemoth with DEN or Gen Waving with Cradle in play are the sort of silliness this deck encourages. It has lots of ramp, and lots of ways to search out Cradle (if I forgot any good ones, holla atcha boy).
I kinda thought Meloku would be better than he's been, but more often than not he's just a means to get an extra Cradle activation/turn.
I run both in my bant token deck. They've won me many games.
I would consider an additional color if I weren't going somewhat on a budget. Er, I did buy a Cradle specifically for this deck, but I've wanted one for years. If I went 3-color I'd need to double up my fetches, duals, shocks, etc. of which the relevant colored ones are already in my Rafiq deck
Also, I mostly use Oppo for the land-lock. Creatures are very much secondary.
Those are all very good suggestions. Ant Queen is gold, I had no idea that exists. I'll pick one up for sure. Earthcraft, Burgeoning (I actually own this but it's in another deck), and Exploration are all cards I would be playing if I allotted that type of budget for this deck. Great ideas, I'm just not forking over the scratch for those bad boys. Explore I will consider since it at least cantrips. Good stuff. Thanks, man!
Edit: Azusa goes in the budget section, too. If I had one I'd build a deck around her. If I had 2, I'd stick one in this deck as well
Give the explore a whirl too, you might like it - I sure do. Another card I just recomended to a wort deck that is pretty cool and might work here is Spontaneous Generation. And yah if you get 1 price card for the deck, get earthcraft.

Yeah, back in the day, before I sold a large portion of my collection, I owned an Earthcraft, and I played it with Nemata and Squirrel Nest. Now, this was before EDH existed (at least to my knowledge), but I would chomp at the bit for a chance to pick up an Earthcraft through a trade, but I can't justify spending the money on it for such a silly deck. If I'm walking around one day with random extra money and I walk into a shop with an Earthcraft I may buy one. But there are so many money cards I want for much more serious decks, I just can't prioritize it that high. I appreciate the suggestions, because it truly is good advice (it would be fantastic in the deck), I'm just weird about what cards I will and won't buy.
I'll give Explore a test, it won't set me back much at all. Even if I don't like it, I'm not even out a dollar.
As for Spontaneous Generation, I'll start paying attention to how many cards I keep in my hand midgame, but I don't think I usually have enough to make it profitable. But I'll keep an eye out just in case. Again, I imagine that won't exactly cost an arm and a leg either, so if I come by one I'll pick it up.

Those are a tad on the slow/random side, but I appreciate the innovation. I sure as crap didn't think up either of those as possibilities.
