I think you answered your own question. Gotta cut those expensive counters and fatties. More land ramp would do you well. I'm not to much of a fan of mana rocks in this type of deck especially when we have tons ETB 2 for 1 options.
You can look at the deck in my sig for ideas. My deck's pretty combo-oriented, though, but you might find something of interest in there.
That said, I personally have come to like Thragtusk with Zegana. His 5 power is great for the Prime Speaker, 5 life gain never hurts, and he gives you a 3/3 Beast every time he leaves the field, regardless of how he goes. Even a 3-power token still nets a sizeable gain from Zegana.
I go back and forth on thragtusk . He has good ability's but they are not exactly the ones im looking for. Im trying to build an attrition style deck packed with answers. Given i lost a ton of answers and recursion of those answers by taking out white. So i feel ill need to be more stringent on mKing sure each creature can effect the board state when they hit the field.
Where is Terastodon? You are running green, ramping into him shouldnt be hard at all!
Btw... it is super fun to rite of replication, kicked, on Prime Speaker when Terastodon is in play. Draw 50 cards? Sure I would love to!

If your game is about attrition and having answers, then Thragtusk should be a shoe-in. He's his own answer to spot removal spells thanks to his token, and leaves you with board presence after any type of board wipe that hits the table. And I maintain that 5 life is nothing to sneeze at. At the absolute worst, it's a free card off of Sylvan Library and change.
I've had a game once wherein I spent a turn rotation casting and recasting Thragtusk using Seedborn Muse, Crystal Shard, and Alchemist's Refuge shenanigans, because nobody else was casting anything that needed immediate answering. +30 life and six 3/3 Beast tokens later, I was sitting comfortably. It doesn't always happen, but even a single cast or two of the Tusk nets considerable profit for a single creature.
Terastadon is a card that rotated in and out of my Jenara deck. I tend to not use creatures over 6cmc. I like to have multiple answers per turn, so having such high costed answers is usually a turn off for me. Though he might make another apperance.
Thragtusk will get tested for sure. Thanks for input.
I put back together Jenara to play some games today and was using and abusing Zegana like no other. Revlark's and clones and Karmic Guide oh my!
My buddy who is still new made the most rookie play ive seen in a while. I cast solemn simulacrum getting my land and he proceded to chaos warp it. I tell him theres a good possibility that that was even better for me as i laugh and flip Trinket Mage and get out mySkullclamp and use my last 2 mana to cast clamp and clamp my Coiling Oracle to draw 2. He looms at me and quietly says "... lesson learned"
Yea my Jenara deck is pretty beast with Zegana but, freeing up two Revised Duals and 2 shocks is nice. I can always throw together Jenara but would like to keep it broken on the norm and have a couple nice decks together.
i prefer to have yavimaya elder instead of farhaven elf nets you 2 basics and if you have mana open, lets you draw a card. have you thought of adding abundance to net you card advantage with sylvan out?
I have a deck that is tearing it up!! I have a 0 cost counter spell package so I don't know if that is what you are looking for but the following cards should help you. If you don't get the combo's / synergy let me know.
Tidespout Tyrant is too high in cost for it not to effect the board. I play in a competitive (non-combo) meta. Spot removal flows like lava!
Will look into making room for Capsize since I do enjoy the card.
Yavimaya Elder is a good card but I would rather be able to fetch non-basics and have them put into play rather than in hand. He is good definatley, I just don't think I'll need that kind of card advantage. I'll keep him under consideration.
Abundance is another excellent fun trick that though I would love to abuse it though I don't think I'm always going to net anything with it. I'll test it out for sure.
Yea will get my hands on a Beserk and Cyclonic Rift. Just waiting for paper cards to come in from my trading before I make to many other changes. Want to test her out a bit.

I also really like Greater Good and Wolfir Silverheart in my list. It's pretty hard to lose after drawing 13 cards...

Paper versions of whats in the list:
Regal Force
Tooth and Nail
New and needs to find room:
Gilded Drake
Cloudstone Curio
Blue Sun's Zenith
So I am going to try and push as much recursion as possible. Cloudstone, Mimic Vat, Eternal Witness...I dont want this deck to hinge on Deadeye.
Any thoughts on Palinchron, Labratory Maniac, Blue Sun's Zenith?
