True, but it can also reuse Angel of Despair. In the end though, it is still a 3/4, and sometimes you just need other creatures out on the board early if Kaalia is stalled. And it can always save Kaalia from a direct spell.

Uhm...non-angel. Resto Angel usually does not make the cut for precisely that reason -- the primary stuff you want to abuse are angels. You'd have to switch around the deck a bit to go heavier on like dragons, for example, and use bogardan hellkite, bladewing the risen, etc. Karmic Guide is also errata'd to an angel spirit, and should be included.
What does Academy Rector fetch for you the most? You might add something to finish a game quick, like for example a Havoc Festival that will make people weary of killing your Rector-Protected board.
And finally, obligatory shout-out to my own Primer on this commander. You have a fine base thus far, but some extra polishing certainly never hurt anyone, after all. We also have a fairly talkative group of players, and several people are more than willing to offer suggestions and help you improve and grow as a player all-in-all.
As 3drinks has said, his primer is pretty good. I'm also a longtime Kaalia Whore and have spent a while fine tuning my Kaalia deck for my specific playgroup. 3drinks uses a more LD package and him/group are ok with that. My group is more LD hating so I went more creature/mass aggro. Ill post my deck on here for you to have a look see. Mine doesn't focus as much on spot kills as 3drinks but like I said, it all depends on how your group plays.

Hey, man, just a heads up, but Master of Cruelties is mad dope in Kaalia. You attack, drop Master, Master first-strikes them down to one, and then Kaalia finishes once regular damage resolves. Pretty neat trick to keep in mind. It's always nice to be able to Demonic Tutor for a one-shot kill.
Edit: actually it works like "attacks but isn't blocked" triggers in the declare blockers step, then combat damage kills them. But if it didn't work that way, it would work because of the first strike

Yes, Enlightened Tutor used to be in the deck when it also ran Batterskull and Swords. It was removed to be put into my Rafiq deck.
