Once upon a time, the star of my The Mimeoplasm deck was Primeval Titan. During more than one game, PT fetched all the land out of my deck, swung for dozens of damage points, and all was well. Then he was banned, and I had to find a new way to win.
I turned my Mimeoplasm build into a self-mill, reanimator-type deck that can win without the general even being played. I love to see the look on an opponent's face when I pitch Sheoldred to Lotleth Troll, only to Reanimate her ... on turn two.
Mimeoplasm might not be my strongest deck, but it's one of the most fun to play, and it's the one I'm most focused on pimping out with foils and alters. I figured I should also try to beef it up:
1. More counter magic or less counter magic? Or no counter magic at all?
2. More "destroy" or less destroy?
3. More effective self-mill cards to try?
4. Coffers/Urborg combo, or take it out since Primeval Titan's no longer a thing?
The thread title says competetive so im going to suggest some less then nice cards. Survival of the Fittest is my favorite card for a deck like this and its by far my favorite way to win in my build. I am more focused on a low curve and value creatures but Survival is epic with reanimator. Pact of Negation is my favorite late game counter. Its always a surprise and cannot be played around. Skittles the Blight Dragon is amazing with the general and any creature with over 6 power. I love Jin-Gitixias as well. It sucks our two best creatures are banned but he is next in line.
Survival of the Fittest is a definite consideration. I run a similar effect with Fauna Shaman, but being able to repeat the effect multiple times per turn is certainly worthwhile.
Pact of Negation, I'm on the fence about. I don't know how much counter magic I want to be running. It seems like 3-4 spells is a waste; either run none or 7-8? And I side more towards none, which would free up card slots for destroy/steal/exile.
Skithiryx ... my meta doesn't really love infect, though I play it in modern. It would certainly be a surprise, and I see nothing wrong with it. It could definitely be a hasty one-shot kill with general damage.
I had Jin-Gitaxias in the deck for awhile, but it seemed like a "win more" card.
If you run counters, you can run a couple and as long as people know you do run counters, you can try to bluff with them. To really take advantage of counters though you need other flash/instants, or be able to activate abilities so you don't time walk yourself.
first of all, some cards that I feel are staples in these colors that I don't see in your deck...
Evoke cards are also pretty nice with havengul lich. shriekmaw and aethersnipe are both interesting with it, along with the aforementioned mulldrifter and fleshbag.
Some others that may be interesting
geralf's mindcrusher kederekt leviathan (note that if you do play necromancy and this is in your graveyard, you can get it back, the leviathan bounces everything including necromancy back to your hand, then leviathan dies again, so this would give you a repeatable sweep) altar of dementia
Obviously you don't have to run all of these, but I think these are all worth consideration.
Cards that I have questions on...
Feldon's cane. You appear to want a full graveyard. So what does this card do?
How often does cabal coffers work? I thought at 3+ colors it would be too awkward, because at 3+ colors you start straining your mana base, and it won't tap for much without urborg. I've never actually tried cabal in 3+ colors though, so I'm just asking if this works for you.
diabolic revelation over increasing ambition? I know the latter has the whole flashback thing, but diabolic revelation with enough mana basically wins you the game.
vampire nighthawk. If you want to stop attacks, use removal or a sweeper or something.
How does crucible/life from the loam/azusa work for you? I don't see fetchlands, and you only have 37 lands anyway. I know you self-mill, but it doesn't look like this does much without the mill.
body and mind? You can't make it mill yourself, and you probably dont' want to mill enemies, because most people build with their graveyard in mind.

Well I would say play it by ear. I have a few counterspells in my version to keep people honest and to defend myself from random sorcery that would defeat/annoy me.
Jin-Git is only win-more if its turn 10 and you're already winning. If you can play survival turn 4 and go pitch a creature get Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur pitch him get get Body Double and play him turn 5. I mean The Mimeoplasm plays reanimator right? Why not run the best (legal) reanimation target?
Mimic Vat, Victimize ... two cards that very well could make their way in. Victimize especially. Greater Good, the Altars ... I don't do much sacrificing. I suppose I should run a sac outlet or two, to avoid having things stolen from me. But I guess that's where the counter magic comes into play.
Fact or Fiction was in the deck, but I decided that I needed room, and so I ran Fact or Fiction on a body instead (Sphinx of Uthuun). Skullclamp isn't really effective here since I don't have many one toughness creatures to abuse it with.
Cards that I have questions on...
Feldon's cane. You appear to want a full graveyard. So what does this card do?
It's there as a reset button to avoid decking myself.. Or if someone tries to exile my graveyard.

Not as often as it did with Primeval Titan, but assembling Coffers plus Urborg actually happens once in awhile. Crucible of Worlds lets me play lands from my graveyard, Life from the Loam lets me return lands from my graveyard to my hand, there's a fair amount of tutor in the deck ... so I can assemble them when necessary. I don't typically search them up, but if I have access to one, I find the other when it's convenient. And Realms Uncharted is a card.
diabolic revelation over increasing ambition? I know the latter has the whole flashback thing, but diabolic revelation with enough mana basically wins you the game.
Increasing Ambition is nice because if I mill into it, I can still cast it. It's not usually worth my while to fight Diabolic Revelation back to my hand. And searching up answers usually isn't too difficult with the package I have.
vampire nighthawk. If you want to stop attacks, use removal or a sweeper or something.
Yeah, Baleful Strix is just better. I could probably cut it in favor of Victimize.

Dredge on Life from the Loam is great. Azusa went in immediately after Primeval Titan was banned as I was scared about ramping. I don't usually actively search her out, but when she's in my hand, I can definitely make good use of her. Plus she usually baits out a destruction spell, because if she sticks, I'll explode for the win.
body and mind? You can't make it mill yourself, and you probably dont' want to mill enemies, because most people build with their graveyard in mind.
Actually, I do want to mill enemies. Maybe it's your meta vs. mine, but maybe 50 percent of the decks I face run black/recursion? And even against those decks, I want to use their creatures as much as they do. I can't cast Mimeoplasm until there are two creatures in a graveyard, and I'd much rather exile my opponent's cool creatures than my own. (I'd rather Reanimate or Stitch Together my own, given the choice).
Thanks for the thoughtful reply, there's definitely a change or two I'll make as a result.

I really like Mdawks list of stuff as well.
Play Body Double right into a counterspell, and have no cards left in hand? Or Bojuka Bog? My meta would see the end of that sequence coming a mile away, and no way would it stick. I like the idea of it in a dream world, but it seems like it'd draw too much hate.
It seems better to run fair cards that don't paint as large of a target on my back. The other Praetors aren't much friendlier, but they don't force my opponents' hands as much as Jin-Gitaxias.
Just reading over all the comments here and I'll share some experience I have with my Mime build.
First and foremost. In a self-mill reanimator build one of the best cards you can play is Buried Alive. This is even more powerful if your meta plays little graveyard hate. Jarad's Order's is helpful along these lines as well. While I have only played it once since putting it in my deck I know it will be incredible.
I also run Life from the Loam and Crucible of Worlds in my build. I run Exploration, which is about the best turn 1 play ever, and Oracle of Mul Daya. If you can get both of those out with a Strip Mine effect package you can nuke 3 lands a turn. This leads me into my next point. You play Crucible/Loam yet don't have Strip Mine, Wasteland, Ghost Quarter, or Techtonic Edge?
I much prefer Oracle over Azusa as I find it much more useful in that I can potentially draw a non-land card and still play 2 lands with her out. That is some sweet CA if you ask me.
In terms of finishers I once took out Jin for the same logic as you. I felt it was win-more. After my meta got wise and started playing Sadistic Sacrament effects on my deck I realized I needed as many threats as possible. This is one of the best we can play. I also really like Kokusho, the Evening Star as a threat as well. I recommend both. Kokusho is a powerhouse reanimator target in large games.
In terms of finishing combo's I see you have Lord of Extinction in here. Have you considered playing a card along the lines of Invisible Stalker? With Mime as a Stalker with counters equal to LoE you are generally swinging for lethal every time. Combined with Alchemist's Refuge to cast EoT you can often pull this out from nowhere. Add in Cavern of Souls for an uncounterable, hexproof, unblockable t-rex arm of death. Buried Alive is great at setting those guys up in a graveyard for you.
As you can probably tell I have my Mime deck geared very strongly around my land base. Because of this Life from the Loam is really powerful to my deck. I ended up picking up Entomb as it can both put a threat into our graveyard but grab Loam. It is a bread and butter card in reanimator. I strongly suggest grabbing one.
I would cut Blatant Thievery and Akroma's Memorial from your finishers. I have tried out Blatant Thievery in three different builds and the only one I was half-happy with it in was Jhoira. Perhaps you have had better luck than I have but with a triple blue CC it is a very niche spell for this deck. Akroma's Memorial just isn't good in a deck this style. Assuming your meta is half as wrath/removal/theft happy as mine is I doubt you will ever have more than 2-3 creatures on the board at any given time. On top of that why bother when you can just swing for lethal with Mime in one hit? If you are worried about Mime connecting try out Rogue's Passage. I am currently trying this land out myself and don't really have enough experiences with it yet to know if it deserves a spot or not.
To answer some of your questions. Play counters!!! As was said before, even if you don't have one in hand, you can always threaten other players with one. I also recommend more wrath/removal effects. I am a major fan of Abrupt Decay for spot removal. I would put in at least three board wipes as well. I personally run All is Dust, Oblivion Stone, Damnation and Cyclonic Rift. In terms of mill cards I find Hermit Druid, Life from the Loam and my various cards Buried Alive type cards are more than sufficient to fill my graveyard. I have considered putting one more in as occasionally my mill engines have been shut down and I suffer as a result. I have just yet to find one I like.

Absolutely correct. I took Buried Alive out as one of my last cuts when I was focused on Primeval Titan as a win-con, and after I transitioned into self-mill, never added it back. Not sure why. In it goes.
I also run Life from the Loam and Crucible of Worlds in my build. I run Exploration, which is about the best turn 1 play ever, and Oracle of Mul Daya. My meta doesn't really agree with land destruction, but I have an extra Ghost Quarter lying around that I could try for testing purposes.
I much prefer Oracle over Azusa as I find it much more useful in that I can potentially draw a non-land card and still play 2 lands with her out. That is some sweet CA if you ask me.
Very good point.

I agree with where you're going with that. Invisible Stalker could take the slot of Vampire Nighthawk, which isn't really doing anything for me. Though Akroma's Memorial is probably my favorite way of connecting for lethal.
As you can probably tell I have my Mime deck geared very strongly around my land base. Because of this Life from the Loam is really powerful to my deck. Seems good.

I've actually had a great deal of luck with Blatant Thievery. It was my only way of dealing with Darksteel Forge in a game against Sharuum, for one example. It's dead against Privileged Position, but otherwise, rather than destroying or exiling my opponents' greatest threats, I take them for myself. It's a bomb in multiplayer.
Akroma's Memorial just isn't good in a deck this style. Assuming your meta is half as wrath/removal/theft happy as mine is I doubt you will ever have more than 2-3 creatures on the board at any given time. I'd rather run Whispersilk Cloak than Rogue's Passage, I think. Akroma's Memorial is actually bonkers in this deck. Living Death with Akroma's Memorial out is a win, and so is Genesis Wave.

Agreed on the necessity of sweeps, but have my own preference. Living Death, as mentioned above, is a win. Tunnel Vision into Living Death is the best feeling in the game, especially with Akroma's Memorial out.
Black Sun's Zenith connects when both Avacyn and Sigarda are out, so I prefer it over Oblivion Stone. And yes, Cyclonic Rift might be my favorite RTR card.
Vampire Nighthawk isn't a bad card for a budget Mimeoplasm Deck, but it's just strictly worse than Baleful Strix here. Generally speaking, I don't need to play much early-game defense, since Mimeoplasm tends to start strong.
I want to like Primordial Hydra, but it sucks to hit off Genesis Wave or Living Death. It's probably card 101 at this point.
Buried Alive's omission was an oversight that has since been corrected.
Scapeshift helps to assemble the Urborg/Cabal Coffers combo with more consistency, or can help with fixing as necessary. Great with Crucible on board, too.
Next task: cutting the four remaining duals that enter the battlefield tapped in favor of something a little faster, and after that, Survival of the Fittest. And I'm seriously considering acquiring an Oracle of Mul Daya to cut Azusa.
Moving away from heavy self-mill, and just getting to threshold. Mind Grind is an awesome card for this deck, but it neutered Living Death. Cutting the self-mill opened a number of slots, including those that allowed me to protect my own graveyard from being exiled. I removed the Tunnel Vision/Living Death combo as well, because once you've won a couple of games that way you start feeling like a bad person.
The mana base is much more consistent. I added Misty Rainforest and the three shocks, plus Vesuva, which can act as a second Cabal Coffers or as any utility land.
Adding Birthing Pod. Being able to pod my utility three-drops into Solemn Simulacrum, then pod Solemn into Vorapede (or one of the big five-drop threats), then pod Vorapede into the six-drops without actually losing Vorapede: winning.
Adding the green and black Primordials, plus Consuming Aberration. Sylvan Primordial isn't Primeval Titan, but for this deck it's somewhat close. Diluvian Primordial is a tick better than Chancellor of the Spires, assuming that you weren't drawing into Chancellor in your opening hand every game. Consuming Aberration can be a blowout.

I always appreciate your feedback and discussion.

In it goes.
My meta doesn't really agree with land destruction, but I have an extra Ghost Quarter lying around that I could try for testing purposes.
Very good point.
I agree with where you're going with that. Invisible Stalker could take the slot of Vampire Nighthawk, which isn't really doing anything for me. Though Akroma's Memorial is probably my favorite way of connecting for lethal.
OUT: Vampire Nighthawk, Primordial Hydra
IN: Buried Alive, Scapeshift
