So I decided to build slivers basing it off the Premium Deck Series deck, including everything I could from that.
I did some minor upgrades to the mana base and still have a lot of work to do on the deck, but it's easy enough for anybody looking to get into EDH to replicate it. Slivers have enough natural synergy that this deck can compete even without the "ideal" mana base and without having yet been fine tuned.
The main thing I'm looking to add to the deck is a recursion theme. You will see Living Death and Patriarch's Bidding added shortly. Not sure I want to add Sliver Queen or Legion to the deck when I don't feel like they will really increase winning percentage too much. Gemhide is the best sliver to see in the opening hand as it ramps through everything. I'm not sure the deck really needs any answers, slivers are pretty bonkers on their own.
Conflux, Worn Powerstone, a few other cards are pretty weak and will be weeded out, but total cost of the deck at present is well under $100.
Not so much Queen, but Legion turns games upside down.
The hardest part about Slivers is if someone knocks your manabase early, but otherwise I don't think you can really go wrong with any of what you have now. (Distant Melody FTW!) Like you said, you just play the deck and see what works or what else you need.
Honestly, I played a sliver EDH deck for a good while. I would suggest dropping the sliver count to around 20 or so key slivers. Maybe even 15. Then fill the slots with recursion (regrowth, restock, recollect, eternal witness, etc) and some removal (oblivion ring, swords to plowshares, path to exile, etc etc). That way, you can stand a chance.
I'd like out point out that cairn wanderer doesn't work. The sliver's abilities aren't static. They actually grant the ability to all slivers while on the field, but while they're in the graveyard, it doesn't grant them the ability. As for the actual deck, it looks reasonable. Don't underestimate the power of legion, I suggest you run it. Also, perhaps something like terra eternal to keep the land hate away? or something, because slivers fold to LD most of the time anyway, doubly so with the ravnica common lands.
(My experience is a sliver deck of my own, although it is a primal surge variant)
