So I posted two decks that are pretty much done. I wanted to post a deck that I'm currently working on and isn't finished. The goal being that maybe I can involve some of you into the discussion because this guy is pretty new.
Now I'm seeing a lot of black green good stuff with some recursion. And while I think that yeah that's what he's meant for, I wanted to take a slightly skewed look at Jarad. I want it to be black green with recursions to abuse some sac'ing and typical graveyard play. However, I want to focus on one particular card.
(can you tell I just learned the spoiler feature :D)
So here is a base shell I'd like to work with, maybe alter the number of rats and change the mana base. Mostly I just want some options working with the rats. Because the way I see it, you get the strong overrun with the rats, however, if Jarad eneters the fray with a few rats on board, Jarad's ability becomes a house.
With his current number of rats I wouldn't suggest Thrumming stone. He really needs a minimum of 25 rats imo to make it worth it. 25 rats gives him an average of 1 rat every 4 cards, which is exactly what you need for thrumming stones to net you a chain of rats into play. Any less than 25 and you are going to maybe get 1 rat off of every other rat. It's just not consistent enough imo.
So I'm moving to a few more creatures other than rats because I feel like the recursion works a little more. I notice I can get a good amount of rats without having to go for obvious cheats (portal/gateway), and they seem to get plenty big on their own.
Yeah, someone was doing a UBG rats build just to use Sphinx of the Chimes which I thought was amazing, but I just like the option Jarad has should my board get wiped.
The problem I'm seeing with enchantments is that once they get targeted down, I don't really have a way of bringing them back aside from playing Eternal Witness (which I feel like I have too many non-rats as it is). Is there something I'm missing that can recur? Maybe Beacon of Unrest? Also I was thinking about Sheoldred, Whispering One as a means to recur/control creature boards.
As I play tested the Jitte, I noticed only one thing happening with it, people would target it down quickly. Maybe my playgroup is just too weary about letting it sit on the field. Plus I'd rather spend that 4 to give me turn advantage, I like being able to play reactively anyway and I'm going to be getting Winding Canyons soon to help with that.
So getting back on track of helping me with the deck, what are some cards we can suggest to help improve the idea of this deck?

So I'll put 25 rats and 1 stone on the board.

1 Could use a bit more land to draw into.
2 Needs a few board wipes.
3 Some added draw would be good.
So as a result:
In/Out
Winding Canyons/Summoning Trap
Vesuva/Yavimaya Hollow
Necropotence/Gravestorm
Unfortunately I don't have any sweepers at the moment, and I'm not sure what to take out for them.
