This isn't your average Phelddagrif deck. It's competetive, and not trying to group hug unless it helps you.
With that out of the way, let's begin. Now while I have this posted in multiplayer, it is equally strong 1v1. Cards choices were made with a slight silver bullet theory in mind. In the sense there is at least one card that can, on its own, beat another given deck. On that note, this is not the first time I have posted a purple hippo list. The changes from the new and old list aren't many, but important. I wont go into extensive detail about a lot of choice so feel free to ask about anything.
The Dudes
8 dudes total including hiphopopotamus. There are 2 main ideas going on here: 1) this deck functions as an enchantress deck 2)this deck functions as an oath of druids deck. Felidar Soverign has been numerous creatures. I really want it to be a certain sphinx, but no black, no dice.
The Engines
There are a few here, I'm going to gloss over them. Oath/blessing, this will get you dudes, allow you to not be decked, and more importantly take advantage of powerful singular cards. Squirrel nest/earthcraft win condition and just good cards overall. Land tax/zuran orb/scroll rack advantage of all sorts. Loam also fits in here and recurring lands. Enchantress effects in general, card draw wins games. Sylvan/abundance = free recall
That should cover the more important cards. And now a little word before the actual list. I have played opalesence, humility. moat, etc. A lot of cards you would expect to be in such a deck. Aside from rules issues that I got tired of explaining, actually ended up being removed so as to affect me less. Wierd I know. Anywho, to the deck
As usual I always appreciate questions and comments. I simply ask try to give some reasoning behind comments relating to cards. "Play this card" comments go nowhere unless you at least suggest why I should.
felidar sovereign! Just realized how cute that card is in edh lol. I like the idea, seems like lots of control, but I don't see a lot of things to ramp up the hippo to kill quickly. That's the only thing I see that could be a problem. Comment on my hippogriph list? Pheldlagriph cannoñ
Thx
Generally, not winning with the hippo. In fact I find I don't play it that often. If I play oath of druids I can play the hippo to allow me to oath by giving away hippos. If I have access to my ancestral mask, then the hippo will wear it if able, and general damage becomes the win. For the most part I find I will play him if my hand is very slow and does nothing. It's a good way to buy time. Once in the drivers seat very little seems to stop the deck from find a way to win.

It's low in the sense there are under ten guys. It's high when you consider it can make infinite squirrels very easily as well as make 4/4 angels easily. Also you only need one creature to win. That is a hallmark of control

I guess I'll get into it now as well since you mention the threats. There really isn't much to discuss about the enchantresses as their role is clear. It's the other ones that may require some highlighting.
Sun Titan.
Oath is one of the focuses of the deck. Sun Titan can recur most of the cards in the deck. So we have inherit synergy already. Vigilance here is also relevant here as he then gets put up to triple duty in this deck. He attacks, blocks and regrows cards. This makes him a strong choice with the few creatures I play.
Akroma.
The main threat in the deck. Evasion, protection, vigilance, etc. All extremely important abilities when playing few threats. Also of note is that she is able to be enchanted by my two boosters without requiring replenish to do so. Fells like one of the work horses of this deck, up there with...
Ulamog.
Ideally this would actually be Emrakul. In any case, this gives me a way to not be decked. The ability to vindicate anything. And more importantly is the annihilator that comes with him. He gives me card advantage which is why this deck can win.
Felidar Soverign.
This spot seems to be in the air a lot. It has been iridescent angel, pristine angel, academy rector, simic sky swallower to name a few. I had got to a point where I felt more life gain was required to the point where I thought about batterskull. This is the card that god the nod. Obviously u can just win as a result of it, but it most closely fit the requirements for inclusion (flying, vigilance, lifelink, protection being the aim). There is still a chance this may just become a bane slayer. As much as I like the I win that makes it a threat to others and may die faster as a result. We will see what happens.
Hope that will help people understand the creature base a little better.

Felidar sovereign has gone back to baneslayer angel. While the sovereign fulfilled what I needed it to do, it tends to die immediately. I also can't count the number of times I crack a fetch only to oath it up at 39. Baneslayer will have to satisfy the secondary life gain spot for now.

I really want sphinx of the steel wind and would still prefer emeakul. The enchantress engine is all the card draw you need. And then I still have scroll/tax on top of that. Consecrated sphinx just doesn't do enough

Drogskol reaver has been a great addition. Life gain, card draw, a wall, an attacker... Seems to do it all. Wish it had hexproof or shroud though. I also have added mystic remora in finally. Still undecided on how I feel about it.

Sorry about the late reply.
My group recognizes this as a strong deck. The group hug part is usually done to further my plans. I give hippos if I want to oath. I give life when I deal 21+ general damage. Cards are given to save the hippo. The zedruu deck I play is similar in theory, but does more in the bear hug category. So I guess to put it another way, they don't care that its not group hug (and you catch newer players off with it not being group hug) but they hate when it gets going and you become untouchable and can lock the game down.

I actually found it cost to much mana. Also by not forcing myself to tutor for cards helps open up the deck to playing with the cards you are dealt. A simple example of that is playing oath. The enchantress's lead to drowning people out in card advantage. Akroma/ulamog are more aggro. Sun Titan/drogskol want more control/political play.
On that note I need to update my list. A few changes have been made.

This update is very late. Been using tuvasa as a way to have access to what I’m trying to do as well as being a better general damage option. I was also able to add morenauras to take advantage of estrid. Otherwise the biggest change comes with removing some of the prison elements. Also squirrel craft ended up being replaced with approach as a cleaner win condition and just a generic life gain option.
