So I was playing my karador deck online and when someone complained about how it wasn't original I got to thinking how I could be more "original”. To start with yes this was a lot like every other Karador deck list destroying all sorts of stuff over and over again. It won a lot but was it all about winning or how you win? Lets face it with the internet nothing is "original" these days. However this is what I came up with. Seems rather competitive but I'm trying to get feedback. I'm obviously not going to be able to use all legends but I'd like to use as many as I can that have good abilities. I don't have this listed as "competitive" because I feel it isn't nearly as strong as a Karador, Ghost Chieftain deck can be. However after playing it for quite awhile now it could easily be listed as competitive as you will find if you play it.
SO WHAT'S THE GAME PLAN HERE?
Well there are many ways you can go about it but for the most part one way or another as soon as you can you want to tutor up Captain Sisay. Once you've done this you can really get to tutoring everything you want. I usually start out with Azusa, Lost but Seeking (for the ramp) if I have Crucible of Worlds or am about to go get it and Glissa, the Traitor (as she allows me to recur my artifacts). Once this engine is up and running you have so many options. Now you might ask what are the chances you're opposition will let them stay on the board. Well they won't but you have them in your second best spot (in your grave yard) or if they do happen to get exiled you go get your Riftsweeper and get them back. There are many ways to go from here and depending on who you're playing your game plan will change but the basics remain the same. If you know you're playing a combo player you'll want to exile the key cards out of their library. If you’re playing a couple people that only run 1-3 grave yard hate cards I usually start there so I don't have to worry about overextending my graveyard as a resource. The nice thing about Praetor's Grasp and Sadistic Sacrament is they all let you search your opponents library and see where your biggest threats will be. I feel you will find this deck to be very resilient once it's up and running. It isn't always the fastest deck so that is the down fall but by no means is it slow either.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN EXILING?
Well anyone can destroy stuff I'd like to exile as many things as I can. I plan to do this through the use of creatures and artifacts. With the ability to recur them the goal is to pull every important piece of your opponent’s deck and exile it. This is a new part I've added to the deck and soon the card choices I've made give me 13 cards that exile things. Including cards that exile from library, hand, and play .
IS THIS DECK FOR ME?
THIS DECK IS FOR YOU IF...
1.You'll enjoy this deck if you enjoy playing cards from every zone you can.
2. You like to stop your opponents from doing things on their terms and making them try to find new ways around what you’re doing.
3. You like to search/shuffle, this deck will def keep you busy.
4. You like to play you vs the world because that happens often with this deck.
5. You like creature based decks, as you can see most of this deck is based around creatures.
6. You like to be proactive rather than reactive to the board.
YOU MAY NOT ENJOY THIS DECK IF...
1. You don't like taking a long time on your turns.
2. You don't like to be the target and main threat.
3. You don't like to mess with your opponents’ deck or game plan.
4. You don't like to see the same cards every game. A lot of times if you’re searching you'll find the same cards each game to get you where you need to be.
5. You don't like to rely on creatures for their abilities and would rather play spells.
6. You’re on a budget (some of the key cards in this deck are pricey and needed for the theme.
DECKLIST BY FUNCTION
This is the breakdown of most of the main components of the deck. I didn't include lands for the most part but those are self explanatory.
As of 8/29/12-These changes are for more legends count as well as exiling cards. These changes aren't as card to card value but I was trying to make sure that the curve was still decent however I feel the add ins take place of the abilities of what I’ve gotten rid of if not better them.
Out-Avenger of Zendikar- Not a legend and I don't really need the tokens as a win con.
_________________________
In-Iona, Shield of Emeria- Fills the top of my pod chain, Stops mono color decks as well as any color that may be giving me issues at the time.
Out-Fleshbag Marauder- Great in a Karador deck but I wanted the spot for more theme based options.
_________________________
In-Praetor's Grasp- Allows me to either get rid of threats before they are an issue, or get a card to cast that I may need.
Out-Fauna Shaman- To slow and not needed at the two spot.
__________________________
In-Saffi Eriksdotter- Fits theme great here being a legend and recursion source for us.
Out-Lord of Extinction- Just a fatty that wasn't needed
__________________________
In-Ghave, Guru of Spores- Legend, sac outlet, and token generator for clamping
Out-Necrotic Ooze- Great card but just doesn't make the cut without haste or being a legend.
__________________________
In-Ghost Council of Orzhova- Sac outlet and allows me to gain life while creating life loss.
Out-Nether Traitor- Great card just doesn't cut it as it's not a legend. Yes it’s great with clamp but in this deck every creature is.
__________________________
In-Jesters Cap- Allows me to exile what I need to before it's an issue, usually grave yard hate.
Out-Bloodghast- Again recurs nicely but just doesn't make the cut.
__________________________
In-Skullbriar, the Walking Grave- Legend with haste that if not dealt with can get very big even after it’s gone to the yard.
Out-Ashnods Altar- Good instant speed sac engine but the mana is usually not needed and there are many sac outlets.
__________________________
In-Altar of Dementia- Allows me to fill my yard if needed but also allows me to mill people then bog them.
Out-Damnation- Great wrath but can't be cast with teeg in play.
__________________________
In-False Prophet- With many sac outlets I can sac my guys then him to exile my opponent’s creatures and never deal with them again.
Out-Pernicious Deed- Always never really ended up being as good as it should in this deck.
__________________________
In-Sadistic Sacrament- With the mana this deck makes it's easy to kick and after it is the player you cast it on shouldn't have many threats left.
Out-Thousand-Year Elixir- Always nice to have with Sisay and the others with activated abilities but just wasn't usually there when you wanted it.
__________________________
In-Mageta the Lion- Allows me to wrath, I feel that this deck draws enough cards to have the cost be useable. Plus he's legend!
In-Diabolic Intent- Sac and search yes please
__________________________
Out-Rune Scared Demon- Hard to cut but had enough at the 7cc spot and I have plenty of search. If he were a legend he'd def be in though.
In-Aura Shards- Gives me the spot removal I need as the deck can be weak against artifacts and enchantments.
__________________________
Out-Greater Good- I have plenty of draw (I think), plenty of sac outlets, and it's dead in my hand with teeg out.
9/1/12
In-Sword to Plowshares- Early removal and exiling trying to bring the curve down a little.
__________________________
Out-Duplicant-Not legendary and cost 6, but always a great card!
In-Time of Need-Just fits the theme nicely and is a great turn 2 tutor for sisay.
__________________________
Out-Woodfall Primus-Great card but again not a legend and high on the curve. Bad part of cutting it is infinite combo piece, removal, and 1 of 2 at its cc in the pod chain but it’s not competitive so I like this move.
9/16/12
In- Angel of Serenity-She should be a house as we can respond and sac to exile 3 creatures for good or sac after and recur 3 from the yard to our hand.
________________________
Out-Liliana of the Veil-Not really needed so she gets cut to make more room.
Can you post your original list? I wanna suggest making more like a creature removal toolbox, but I don't really know how common it is but its sounds like a fun challenge.
I don't have my old list anymore but this is a creature removal toolbox it seems. I can exile a lot of things and multiple things in a turn. The whole point is to grab captain sisay and abuse her to get everything i want and need. Then when needed use karador
The list looks good. I have a couple of suggestions. Martyr's Bond is more expensive than Grave Pact but helps also with enchantmets and artifacts. Maybe you could also add Aura Shards. Usually that slot is never wasted as there usually are a couple of artifacts sitting around the table. Living death can be a double edged sword. Are you exiling the opposition's dudes only through False Prophet and Puppeteer clique? I guess you can put Jester's cap and Praetor's Grasp in there as well. Did you ever have trouble firing off Living death? Mimic Vat is kind of an exile that does not last all the time, since you have to return the creatures each time you imprint.
I'll have to think about Martyr's Bond and as far as Aura Shards I'm just trying to keep as many creatures and artrifacts in so i can recur them that's why im down to so few enchantments/spells.
Living death is never really an issue I can get my etb effects off of it then sac guys to clear the opponents board again. I also run a very relentless Bajoka Bog engine between bouncing it and destroying it to replay it i clear yards rather often. Mimic Vat is strictly for my opponents creatures and i try to never put mine under it.
Thanks for the input it's nice to get ideas like Martyr's Bond
No Savannah, Scrubland, or Fetches? Also, not a big fan of the Karoo lands, even with Azusa (unless you have them in foil, in which case they're a must!).

Amazing Avy & Sig by mchief111 @ Rising Studios [4/22/11]
You're welcome :). Is there a specific reason you play Dosan the falling leaf over Grand Abolisher? Like casting cost for Birthing pod for example. This is a discussion I had with Donald at some point. In my opinion the abolisher is strictly better as it stops the spells on your turn but you still can cast stuff on your opponents turn. I guess if you just do activitated abilities it does not really matter. You can fetch it up with Sisay as well. I can see that....
I am not sure I like the low count of ways of dealing with artifacts and enchantments you have, that is why I was suggesting Aura shards. I see Woodfall Primus and Mangara of Corondor. Mangara is a little bit slow and sometimes there is no time for primus. I guess you can always preemptively jester's cap or Praetor's grasp, but sometimes some things get thourgh the cracks. If you just want creatures, I would consider Acidic Slime as well as Harmonic Sliver and Necrotic sliver. They work well in the Saffi loop as well and Harmonic sliver is a very nice skullclamp target.
Well Dosan the Falling Leaf is legendary thats the only reason. Also the only reason I don't run more removal for such things is that I got away from being competitive to run with a theme. Woodfall is just a good 8 spot on my chain and I can usually ramp fast enough to have him deal with
major threats.
Fetches and duals are in the list. Bounce lands are for bog as well as bouncing other utility/mass mana producing lands. Usually prime time gets the bounce lands for me.
Ok well I'm thinking maybe this cut Greater Good for Aura Shards for the reason that I have enough recurable draw and with gadock in play I can cast it plus recur with Titan. This will fill my removal spot.
Guess I'm not that hardcore. Also switched up bloodgahst for grave robber because it fits the theme better and Diabolic Intent for rune scared only because it's not a legend. Also Identity Crisis and Sadistic Sacriment.
I was playing and a buddy suggested I add Karn Liberated to the deck list for flavor. Was wondering if its to costly and would slow me down even though flavor wise it'd be a good add. Also what to cut for it?
Well Krador is never low key, as soon as its seen as your general your a threat no matter what. But I do think it's too expensive for what he does in EDH. I agree as I've cut most planeswalkers out of my decks as well unless they have a really good reason for being in. The only reason I'm considering it is because of the theme, as you can see I run cards that usually wouldn't be run in a deck like this just do to the theme of it.
I would rather have Duplicant then Swords as you can get multiple uses out of Duplicant much easier then Swords. But if you're planning to play this deck online then you really need both. Do you need the Woodfall Primus ability? Time of Need is cool for getting the deck going but its a concession to flavor over utility.
Well I'll be adding kokopuffs in place of PT as well as adding Scapeshift and Realms Uncharted seems ill be cutting Time of Need for one spot and I'm not sure yet about the other. Suggestions?
Updated to be current. Stopped playing for about a year while I had my little guy but it's time to get back into it. Please let me know if I've overlooked anything new that may need to be added.
Shell of the Last Kappa on the maybe list. Also bitter ordeal back in for jesters cap I believe as well as miren the moaning well in for rift stone portal. Thoughts?
