so I've been playing a junky Kami of the crescent moon deck (this is a horrible deck that just runs a plethora of draw effects and a few taxing cards with no way to win)
I want to give the deck more focus and a cool central point hence the switch to Aboshan, Cephalid Emperor I'm not working on a tight budget but I can't afford things likemana drain at the moment
I want to play to Aboshan's strength, the only problem is that most cephalid don't really cut it in edh besides Llawan, Cephalid Empress so it leads me to wanting to play both Riptide Replicator and Volrath's Laboratory while neither are exceptional good cards in most cases I hope to make them shine in this deck(if there are other cards that would allow me to make Cephalid tokens I'd love to know about them )
Why Stax?: I love the play behind it, though have never gotten a chance to assemble an actual stax deck (partly because of money and partly because my playgroup wasn't ready for it)
Not sure how much I could help in the stax department. My draft for the deck was based more along the lines of cephalid tribal (it's my pet tribe) and fliers. I like Riptide Replicator, and Volrath's Laboratory, Never thought of using either of those.
Thanks for the advice Everyone, Keep it coming
@goblin Screwdriver: I'm not sure about the creature type change cards I like them but not sure they will really help with were I'm going in this build and although I agree levitation is an awesome card, especially in an Aboshan decklist I'm not sure if it will end up being a more or less dead card since it does nothing else besides granting flying (which is awesome!) unlike Wonder which can be discard bait or a blocker
@inscho: yes yes it is a strong Cephalid
@grinning Demon: Not sure how I forgot about the Octo-cop, but fixed that oversight, thanks for the stax help, and I know Stasis combos with something but don't the combo, can you help enlighten me on that, and i'm not sure it will stay in long since it is such a hated card
and i'm not sure about the more draw part, it's nice but not sure on if the room for it will be there, the draw power I have right now can all be turned off it's not needed or acts as alt-wins(Blue sun's zenith)
@anancientlich: Thanks for the stax help too(they are all in), I tend to blank on what cards are what when I get around to working on my decks so the help is highly appreciated
Edit: are the Blue Gravity wells worth adding in? ex. Mystic Decree, Thundercloud Elemental, thundercloud is pretty Mana intensive and succeptable to receiving plenty of hate
