So I got invited to a play group by a bunch of older people in my college. I have an EDH deck with The Mimeoplasm as the general. Thinking about switching him for Damia. Anyways, the decks main win condition is infinite combo with damage or capsizing everything or skittles infect. I want to make the deck more fun for the playgroup I am in, meaning less or no infinite combos but with still ways to win and have fun. I do not own a ton of cards, but I do have a bunch of random rares and mythics so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
PS I am new to the forums and a little short on time to browse how other people post their decks, so if there is another format or way I should post it let me know and I will fix it. Thanks.
Notice that if you don't put a number next to the card name, it will appear as a title. Some people use this number to represent converted mana cost such that the deck's curve is more easily apparent, because as a singleton format the only time there are more than 1 of each card is the number of basic lands (and Relentless Rats).
I'll keep things general as I'm not sure what your budget is and how willing you are to draw from outside your collection.
Mimeoplasm likes full graveyards, so a good idea is to run global mill on the lower end of your mana curve, like Mindcrank and Mesmeric Orb. Windfall type effects fill graveyards and are potentially good card advantage. Wrath of God effects are good to keep your opponents at bay, but fill graveyards nicely as well. Mimeoplasm especially likes Life's Finale. And of course there's library-to-graveyard effects like Buried Alive and Jarad's Orders.
Haven't thought much about Damia, but my friend ran a deck with stuff like Dream Halls, where he chucked his hand to various benefits, then drew it back again. Seemed fun. Use Advanced Search at http://magiccards.info/ to check for all cards with certain themes, like "Discard a card:" for Damia.
By the way: blue's got much better card draw mechanisms than Staff of Nin... Concentrate, Tidings, Rhystic Study, the usual.
The first thing I would do is remove Palinchron, Skittles, and Capsize. Capsize is sort of annoying, even without infinite mana. Palinchron is just a combo piece and randomly goes infinite with lands that tap for two or more mana. Even Phantasmal Image makes it crazy lol.
One shot infect wins are a great way to win with The Mimeoplasm but I can assume more casual groups will not enjoy this. It also makes winning a tad more challenging which can be more fun for you as well.
This is my version of the deck, it doesn't contain any infinite combos or infect but its still kinda mean. Its heavily based on Dtrain's primer which you can find in the list of primers at the top of this board. The main difference between out builds is that I don't run the infect win and I run more creatures. Hopefully you can find some fun yet not so mean cards in our decks to help you out. My personal favorite is Birthing Pod.

Okay thanks. I was considering adding in some beatdown over the infinite combos but I have often found beats to be highly ineffective. I got some ideas for replacement so thanks!
Well having to overexert my board by alpha striking or having to overextend my hand by playing the big creatures to beat face leaves me vulnerable or behind. Also beating somebody down has just been to slow in the past, except when I am attacking with say infinite squirrels or something.
I don't ever alpha strike people with my deck. I normally use swords on big creatures to swing for big chunks of live in a more attrition style. I also like Massacre Wurm to put some hurt on people so their life totals are lower before I use my fatties. Its hard to quit combos but with a twelve step program we can get you back on track ;).
