What Lies Beneath (the morph) - Ixidor, Reality Sculptor
Introduction
Onslaught was a block I virtually missed, but one can't help but be interested in the story line that used to exist. The story of Ixidor and Nivea and Ixidor's fall further and further away from living in reality (much like many Magic players) is engaging and still interests me to this day. I wanted a mono blue deck that wasn't overdone and doesn't scream combo before you even draw the first card. Ixidor is all of this, he is both rare and is semi-parasitic, in that the mechanic he showcases requires some work to exploit. Ixidor is truly a blast from the past.
A couple of cards have great playability here, including Riptide Pilferer, Echo Tracer and above all Dermoplasm and could be included if one really wanted to. However, under the current direction of control and combo I don't see many of these as necessary, but the good thing about this theme is that there are many options. Other more situational morph creatures could be used, Coral Trickster and Aquamorph Entity come to mind, if the morph theme were pushed to extremes. The reason the theme is not used further is because this deck is blue, the colour of great cards and even better clones, we don't need mediocre morphs.
Change Log
26/11/11 Soldevi Excavation -> Counterspell - I feel land count can be lowered due to generally low curve of deck. Experience will tell in time.
14/12/11 Treachery -> Equilibrium - Davidboan suggested Equilibrium and I agree. Reusing morphs and paramount and this even works with opponents' creatures.
01/01/12 Future Sight -> Chrome Mox - I want to try ramp a bit faster. I don't want to run Mana Crypt as this deck doesn't have capacity to recoup life, nor is a lethal combo being run currently. If this changes Mana Crypt is logically a better card. I also wish to hide what morphs I have and while themed (it has Ixidor on it) Future Sight gave away information I didn't want known.
08/01/12 Sun Quan, Lord of Wu -> All is Dust - All is Dust should work very well with the goal of this deck and reset board states that I would issue dealing with. A game against Animar exposed the need for a card like this. Cauldron of Souls -> Knowledge Pool - Many creatures can't persist without dying on the return, especially if they died as a morph and the deck has few ETB triggers. Cauldron really doesn't have a place here right now. I'm putting in the cut-throat Knowledge Pool. I run Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir so the lock out combo is available. The reason I'm not too concerned is that this deck lacks the mana to get it too consistently, but it is now an option.
09/02/12 Jace the Mind Sculptor -> Grand Architect - While this card saved me many times I feel it has a big target on its head and this deck lacks the capacity to protect it quite often in the current form. In its place I've added a mana ramper for artifacts and an additional blue lord. This also allows the faster casting of Knowledge Pool.
02/05/2012 Grand Architect -> Devastation Tide - This guy was useful, but not adding too much ramp with so few big artifact targets. I decided to add a fourth 'Wrath' instead.
30/06/2012 Swiftfoot Boots -> Time Warp - I have counterspells, which means I don't need to protect general as much. One equipment for shroud (Lightning Greaves), which can be tutored should be enough. An extra turn would be desirable for the end-game.
21/05/2013 Cloud Key -> Arcane Laboratory - My goal is to narrow the focus of the deck and make it better at what it does. Making it one spell per turn when I can use morphs works to my game plan. Inundate -> Temporal Mastery - To be more competitive extra turns are needed and this wrath sometimes had negative consequences.
Options being considered Mana Crypt - More ramp would be helpful for early Ixidor and morph plays.
Game Plan
1. Go Fish - This deck is built like an aggro-control deck (A 'fish' deck) with many small guys (morphs) and a good amount of counter magic. You can try control the board while seeming innocuous and not worth attacking.
2. No untapping for you - The 'Pickles' Combo is featured in this deck incidentally and over the course of a game can just lock people out. For those who didn't play during Time Spiral this combo involved Brine Elemental and Vesuvan Shapeshifter ensuring people never untap again by unmorphing and flipping over the Shapeshifter. This won't make you many friends, but is highly effective.
You could run this, but I don't for now
3. Teferi - Knowledge Pool Lock - This is a recent addition, but it functions as is infamously known. Play Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir at the end of turn player before you and now they can't respond. Play Knowledge Pool and now they can't play any spells for the rest of the game. Even existing removal now does nothing.
This deck is new and still being tweaked, but I'm interested in feedback. As one can tell from the list, I am pushing the morph theme and aiming for an aggressive, yet controlling build that can eventually take over and let me reuse my morphs. More will be added later on.
I also play Weiss Schwarz, Chaos, Vanguard and Wixoss.

Cool deck mate. Ixidor is pretty neat, I've played Him a few times. I'm surprised You passed on Dermoplasm. The ability to drop some of the higher end dudes in for free is pretty huge. Any reason You didn't include Him?

Thank you. I don't see any of the morphs aside from the dragon as being worth cheating in, their power comes from the deception and most of the ones I chose have a nice unmorph ability.

Well yes, the dragon springs to mind and in the last build I ran I was playing a couple of others like Maelstrom Djinn and Nameless One that were worth it but for Your build I wasn't talking about wanting to drop any particular guy. My point is that You have some expensive dudes to play and being able to get them down earlier helps. In My testing with the deck it was one of those cards that looked bad on paper but continually proved to be useful.

You get a 2/2 face down creature with no text, no name, no subtypes, no expansion symbol, no life, and no mana cost (no, the converted mana cost is not equals to 3). It can't be turned face up by paying the morph cost since it does not have any morph cost.

This is pretty cool, I'd play it just to troll around with my friends, cause as of right now it sucks having 1 morph creature, and everyone frickin knows it's a Willbender.

I can't believe I missed first two things, Evaluation is also an instant, not sorcery.
Now I need to work out what to take out, you are right that card should be in there, but by same token should Cloudstone Curio be there too?
I'm still getting last two cards for deck, then I can play with it, I've been waiting a while, but that is one more goal.
Treachery doesn't fit theme overly much, so I'll consider removing that or Desertionor a counterspell, Dismiss, I could have too many. Vedalken Orrery might also just be a luxury, but those three are ones I'm considering. What are people's thoughts on what should be removed?
I also play Weiss Schwarz, Chaos, Vanguard and Wixoss.

You've made another typo here.

I'd think so. It fits with what You're trying to do

I'd be inclined to cut Treachery. It seems really off theme and random in this build

Thankfully I spelt evac right in list I must be tired.
It is random, but I do love the card in almost any deck that can run it and steal something for near free. I'll consider that on cutting block and a counterspell as the next thing to be removed.

After a rather unusual Planechase game, which likely skewed my perceptions I'm sure (Naar Isle wiping out table shouldn't be THAT common). I'm keen on trying All is Dust in here. It is expensive as hell, but it in a deck that deliberately remorphs my guys maybe it is something I need. I'm tempted to put it in over Innundate, JTMS or cut a counterspell.
Few comment on Ixidor, but I'm interested in which is likely the worst to retain.

Jace the Mind Sculptor has now been cut in favour of Grand Architect, this should help make deck act like a fish deck and power out even more artifacts. I havent seen anything I like from Dark Ascension, but I will my eyes open.

I thought You would have been all over Counterlash for the counter package. Any reason it hasn't caught Your eye?
I'm surprised Cloudstone Curio hasn't made the deck yet. How are You finding the bounce package?
You dont sleep either do you?
Counterlash is a good call, I don't have one yet, so I guess that's why I didnt think of it.
The bouncing has been working great, it works fantastic with Chromeshell Crab especially. The deck has done well recently and people who borrowed it had a blast (hence why I may sideline some of my less fun decks for it). I'm not sure what to cut for it, the list has many good cards. I'll go over it when I'm a bit less tired.

Ghostly Flicker - You can reuse Ixidron or pull some of your creatures out of morph using this. It also works as a way to retrigger ETB effects.
Karn, Silver Golem - animate artifacts in response to playing your commander and you get to essentially kill artifacts with this.
Leyline of Anticipation - often used over Vedalkan Orerry for the potential to be free to cast. Also artifacts have a lot more potential removal effects available that are often used than enchantments.
Kormus Bell it might be sort of hate for black but morphing all those swamps seems like fun. Also, if you really wanted to follow it up you could run Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
Just some thoughts for ya.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

I could run Karn, Flicker and Leyline. I run the Orrery as my deck strives to maximise tezz, but enhancing my ability to instant cast spells is certainly an idea. The Bell is good and potentially backbreaking, but I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable running Urborg in non-black deck without seeming a horrible person. Without Urborg, which i admit can be searched for to a degree, the bell is a bit less good, but I'll certainly keep that idea in mind.
I also play Weiss Schwarz, Chaos, Vanguard and Wixoss.

Yeah. Pretty much
Decks:
WUG Jenara, Asura of War
WR Kalemne, Disciple of Iroas
WU Lavinia of the Tenth
UR Mizzix of the Izmagnus
I know that feeling too, for me it's normally an Akroma, Angel of Fury, Willbender or Vesuvan Shapeshifter I'm against and can cold read. I like the idea of being tricky and then reusing the trick.

1. You missed the r at the end of Reliquary Tower
2. You have Evacuation listed as Evacuate
3. You aren't running Equilibrium
Why aren't You running Equilibrium?

You've made another typo here.
I'd think so. It fits with what You're trying to do
I'd be inclined to cut Treachery. It seems really off theme and random in this build
Thankfully I spelt evac right in list I must be tired.
It is random, but I do love the card in almost any deck that can run it and steal something for near free. I'll consider that on cutting block and a counterspell as the next thing to be removed.
EDIT: Equilibrium is now in over Treachery. Good Games had it fortunately. Just need Dream Chisel and Vedalken Orrery for completion.
