I'm planning on going to GP Columbus primarily to play side events, and after deciding that my casual monored deck (featuring Diaochan, Artful Beauty) wasn't quite up to snuff, I decided to let loose all of the deckbuilding restrictions that I usually impose upon myself for my playgroup and build a powerful deck for once.
Coiling Oracle - Ramp/Cantrip all in one, and also one of my favorite creatures
Consecrated Sphinx - A bit expensive, but this thing can get stupid.
Brainstorm - Still great even in EDH
Forbidden Alchemy - Has flashback for the late game, gets lands in my GY for Loam
Fact or Fiction - Best 4 mana draw spell in the game
Scroll Rack - Great when you always have a full grip and a full set of fetches
Sensei's Divining Top - Self explanatory
Rhystic Study - An innocuous effect that nets you a lot of cards
Jace, the Mind Sculptor - Better than all?
Barren Moor/Tranquil Thicket/Lonely Sandbar - I love casting Loam, and these only make it better
Lotus Cobra - Gets Damia out super early with a fetchland
Sakura-Tribe Elder - Rampant Growth that I can pitch to SotF later
Wood Elves - Great tempo/ramp
Yavimaya Elder - Not strictly ramp, but draws 3 cards.
Oracle of Mul Daya - I can't not include this in a green deck
Primeval Titan - Most powerful spell in the format
Chrome Mox - Card disadvantage minimized by Damia
Mox Diamond - See above
Sol Ring - Autoinclude
Coalition Relic - I chose this over Darksteel Ingot because it makes 2 mana.
Exploration - Great to get lands out of your hand to draw more
Burgeoning - See above
Cabal Coffers - PT target
Eternal Witness - Sets up an infinite turn combo and is great otherwise
Reanimate - Lifeloss mitigated by the fact that I need to be dumping my hand quickly and often
Life from the Loam - One of my favorite cards, and absolutely insane with cycling lands/Scroll Rack/etc.
Necromancy - Options are important
Snapcaster Mage - Second copy of any spell in the deck
Volrath's Stronghold - Even better in this creature-heavy deck
Counterspell - Cheap and effective
Mana Drain - Best countermagic in the game
Trickbind - Stifle is underrated in this format
Forbid - Combos with Damia
Hinder/Spell Crumple - General removal
Voidslime - Stifle or Counterspell? I'm in
Force of Will - For that combo player at the table.
Mystic Snake/Venser, Shaper Savant - Counterlock with Deadeye Navigator, tutorable at instant speed with SotF
Acidic Slime/Duplicant - Great removal, better with Deadeye Navigator
Beast Within - Instant speed Vindicate, drawback is negligable
Capsize - Excellent utility
Maelstrom Pulse - Versatile removal
Decree of Pain - Possibly too expensive, but gamebreaking if resolved
Pernicious Deed - Insane removal
Karn Liberated - Usually just 2 Vindicates, but great nonetheless
Wasteland/Strip Mine/Dust Bowl - Targeted LD is so important in this format
Bojuka Bog - Great utility land, GY removal
Nihil Spellbomb - Tutorable with Trinket Mage, GY removal
Entomb - Usually targeting Loam, though I'll get a creature if I have a reanimation spell
Vampiric/Demonic Tutor - Best spell for the situation for a few more mana
Trinket Mage - Great toolbox card
Tolaria West/Expedition Map - Gets utility lands
Survival of the Fittest - Great tutor, gets combo pieces
Intuition - Usually gets countermagic or lands to dump into my GY for Loam
Tooth and Nail - Also reads "Win target game"
Phantasmal Image/Phyrexian Metamorph/Rite of Replication - Clone effects
Temporal Manipulation/Time Stretch - Extra turns are more broken when you always have a full grip
Deadeye Navigator - This card is stupid. Shenanigans with PT and Mystic Snake, and wins the game with Palinchron.
Palinchron - Combo piece
Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre - Alternate win condition
Lightning Greaves - In a creature-heavy deck, why not?
Maze of Ith - Deterrant
Phyrexian Tower - Protects my guys
Alchemist's Refuge - Lets me play the control role better lategame
Deadeye Navigator + Mystic Snake - Counterlock
Tooth and Nail - First cast gets Palinchron to untap my lands and Eternal Witness to return Tooth and Nail, second cast gets Deadeye Navigator paired with Palinchron and Venser to bounce all of their permanents.
Eternal Witness + Extra Turns - Generic G/U infinite turn combo
Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre - Gets there eventually, but one attack usually takes an opponent out of the game.
Mana Crypt - Haven't found one for trade, but will probably replace Yavimaya Elder
Stifle - I love Stifle effects in EDH, but Trickbind is better at stopping combos and Voidslime has way more utility.
Crop Rotation - Mostly to get Bojuka Bog at instant speed, but also helps assemble coffers engine.
Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir - Protects me from the other blue mages at the table, but I'm not entirely sure that's worth a slot.
Time Warp - Because I'm not actually running the original for some reason.
Let me know if you have any suggestions, thanks! My limited testing with this deck makes me think I can keep up with the more competitive generals at the table, but hey, who knows.
Looks like pretty solid build a few cards stick out decree of pain cost to much we've all tested it it's not consistant and almost always cycled. I personal
Like all is dust most people like o stone for this slot damnation is better as well. Strangely missing mystical tutor. Um mox diamond chrome mix are good and fast but In general not great due to card disadvantage coiling seems inconsistent as well I like farseek three visits natures lore here. I also like the filter lands ie sunkens ruins over new duals. Thran dynamo is great especially since you ran tidespout tyrant gilded lotus is good too. Other than that there are a ton of good Damia list on these forums check out mine Aron Phoenix selection death diamond tsogod use the commander database to find lists. The list overall pretty damn good should be fine.
Are you missing Cabal Coffers? It's an instant win with Tooth and Nail. And with Drownyard it's infinite Mill. I do really like Scavenging Ooze against almost any deck.
Nevermind I found it. I really like your list. Very combo centric. Good luck at the side events. Do update on how you do.
