There is a disturbing trend among Edric, Spymaster of Trest players, where they think it's ok to run a horde of two-drops and piddle and politick their way to victory.
This is a more bombastic approach to Edric than many of my compatriots run. The general idea is to use creatures and spells that pump multiple creatures, and then use Edric like a glorified draw-spell-on-demand to get ahead. It's more like the straight UG decks of old: Ramp, bombs and counterspells. It's not stealthy, and it's not clever, and it doesn't run Cloud of Faeries. But it runs Verdant Force, and I can't think of anything that pleases my inner caveman more than Verdant Force.
Hidden in there is a Crystal Shard engine with lots of targets to recur. UG's typical weaknesses are a lack of creature removal, both spot and mass. I tried to include the best of the best here, with the propaganda effects supplementing the mass removal I can run. The best card in the deck is, unsurprisingly, Gaea's Cradle. It's synergy with the token makers and draw power is completely insane, allowing you to assert maximum testosterone on the board at any given time.
Any ideas on how to improve it that are in line with the deck's philosophy are welcome. Any suggestions that rhyme with Finvisible Falker or Fessian Finfiltrator will be shunned accordingly.
PS: Relax, once I get a Terastodon he's going in. Stompy stomp stomp.
The problem with defining [EDH] by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
This is not ok.
