This was my first love, the deck idea that got me obsessed with EDH. 'I'm going to make a completely colorless deck' "Won't that be really hard?" 'I'm sure it will, that's why I have to do it.'
I began furiously trading for cards that might fit the theme. The original iteration of the deck had the jankiest colorless lands, because they were cheap. Eventually the land base evolved into some very great situational lands that still do their primary job of producing mana until the right circumstances arose. "That land does WHAT?" was pretty common in the weeks immediately following. As the land base grew up and moved out of it's parents' house, so did the creature base. I was originally going for a token/ artifact creature swarm, but that proved too fragile. A few heavy hitters is really all the deck really needs, as it comprises of over sixty percent mana-producing cards. the finished product (ha! finished... right.) can plop down a turn-4 Kozilek shockingly often. I ran Ulamog as my general initially, but the extra one mana he costs to play didn't bring him out fast enough for my liking. Also, Kozilek dying (not being indestructible, specifically... or me sacrificing him) isn't really a bad thing, I'll gladly recast him and draw another four cards. So here it is: feel free to comment, recommend, etc. The deck has been tweaked quite a lot, and if a card you see makes you scratch your head, odds are I can explain a situation where it was useful; otherwise I am happy to rotate the card out for something better-suited!
Just food for thought. the monolith is faster then the eye, even if you have to pay to untap it, the nexus as a free artifact critter is prolly better then the cycling in this deck, the forge seems more useful to me that then satchel. The clock and the lattice just seem to be bomb on thier own......Let alone in this deck.
Lotus Vale seems like an odd choice. The only card I see making it beneficial is Crucible of Worlds and it also makes a great target for land destruction.
Lotus vale and scorched ruins, buried ruin, deserted temple, quicksand, mutavault, mishra's factory, inkmoth and blinkmoth nexus, rath's edge, dust bowl and strip mine all recur from crucible. Grim monolith is the nexi are in my deck, must have forgotten write them down lol. But you're right, lotus vale doesn't actually make me more mana lol. That will come out. Lattice and forge I've considered... will revisit. Great feedback so far!
The amulet is in there as a way to cheat kozilek back in if bounced (I.e. by my own erratic portal) and earlier threats drops. Unwinding clock will probably go back in, I had pulled it but seems better now with more ramp in the deck. Pithing needle has helped me several times so I'll probably keep that in. Hmmmmm *gears turning*
I have my doubts that lotus petal is very good in this deck. Sure, you get one free mana out of it, but it's probably a dead draw a lot of the time and probably least useful in a colorless edh deck where big mana numbers are thrown around all the time and card advantage is king. You can prove me wrong though.
Lotus Petal is actually a favorite of mine, nearly as good as a mox, as it jumps me one mana/turn ahead on casting kozilek. i hold onto it and my opponent is thinking 'ok, he can cast kozilek in three turns, i will play accordingly' and i drop any of my 2-net mana lands that dont come into play tapped (i.e. eye of ugin, eldrazi temple, ancient tomb, scorched ruins, crystal vein , temple of the false god), and a lotus petal, sol ring, mana vault, grim monolith etc and kozilek resolves, I draw 4 cards and possibly even swing.
I am a very 'all in' kind of player when piloting this specific deck;I fully realize its
not the best strategy, but what it is is a lot of fun. When I lose, I lose decisively. When I win, or even take another player out in multi, it is out of nowhere (at least if they've never played me before).
Even late-game, if Kozilek has been killed a few times, sac'ing Lotus Petal to play Koz'y again and draw four more cards negates the card disadvantage a one-shot artifact like petal normally creates. I love the card.

I have decided to leave the Lotus Vale in. it is absolutely an LD target but LD isn't overly played in my LGS or casual play groups, and it has great synergies with:
My friend Mike will intentionally hold back a win until he can play that scenario out (Eye of Ugin certainly makes it easier) when piloting this deck. I myself have yet to pull it off, though It That Betrays is still brutal Kozilek already on-board.
Null Brooch helps, and fortunately if an eldrazi is already on the table they dodge corrosion as well. I am very weak to artifact wipe, and very open to suggestions. I'm running Not of This World already to protect my fatties; easily one of my favorite 'gotcha' cards.

I have my own Kozi - EDH, linked here Kozilek Butcher . But mine is themed around token production.
Darksteel Forge, Welding Jar, Arcbound Reclaimer, Junk Diver, Myr Retriever, & Null Brooch can help stabilize during, after, or prevent a board wipe.
Rings of Brighthearth can make most of these work a 2nd time and is just amazing in general.
