This is my latest EDH venture that has been astonishingly solid thus far. Before I get ahead of myself, I should point out that this deck is intended almost exclusively for a multiplayer environment where it shines very brightly. Two of my favorite aspects of Magic are drawing cards and land ramp; these two premises became the guiding force behind the overall deck design. At first glance there may be some inclusions that may strike you as odd, but for the most part all of the inclusions can be defended by 1 of 2 basic explanations: 1) they create some sort of short term and/or long term card advantage, or 2) they can replace themselves at the very least. Both of these aspects are key for keeping Multani a force to be reckoned with. As you might imagine by studying the decklist, Multani gets HUGE (typically he's at least a 30/30) ; and HUGE plus Shroud usually means major headaches for most opponents. The only real threats to him are Wrath variants but even those aren't entirely effective because of the deck's ramp component which makes it easy to reestablish board position quickly. Eventually you'll find a way to get Multani past your opponent's defenses (usually by granting him Trample by various means) and it'll likely be GG in a single shot. As always, suggestions and feedback are welcome and appreciated. Enjoy.
I love seeing another person play Multani. It's a great idea for a Mono G engine, and does surprising well.
I personally use a lot more Eldrazi and Mana Doubling effects in my deck, because I tend to play a lot more multiplayer with the deck, because Multani is more fun when he comes down as a 28/28.
A few suggestions would be:
-Stampede-Instant speed trample?
-Memory Jar-This card is a must in Multani. Make your opponents have a fist full of cards on your turn? Seems good.
-Anvil of Bogarden-Card filtering, and it ensures your entire table has no maximum hand size.
-Nacatl War Pride-Best Taunting Elf Effect.
Good luck, it's tremendously fun to beat people in the face with Multani.

I already have Anvil of Bogardan in the list, but I agree it is probably the card I like to see most often. It is so good here.
I tested Memory Jar and believe it or not I found that more often than not it weakened Multani because myself, and routinely my opponents, would have in excess of 7 cards in hand before the Jar took effect. :p. I would not blame anyone for playing it, however. It may see a second tour of duty in the deck.
I don't like Stampede simply because it is not strapped to something else as in the case of Kamahl or Garruk. I make an exception for Overwhelming Stampede simply because it is ridiculous.
Personally I'm not a fan of the Eldrazi in general. Kozilek only made the deck because of the CA he provides. The graveyard shuffle effect is nice too in most situations. As far as mana doublers are concerned, I'm not really a fan because they don't meet either of my two criteria for card inclusion. I am happy with having consistent land drops and land ramp. Typically I'm usually ahead in the mana race as is.
Otherwise I'm still looking to get my hands on an Eldrazi Monument for testing purposes.
Tornado is significantly better than Desert Twister. Also, what do you do when you're down to one opponent in the game? Multani won't be 21/21 at that stage most likely.
The problem with defining [EDH] by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I'm not really a fan of cumulative upkeep at all, and I personally think Desert Twister is the better card, at least from my experience. When I am down to 1 opponent it doesn't make a huge amount of difference since I will often have in excess of 21 cards in hand by myself that far into the game. Additionally, in the case of Overwhelming Stampede I can likely take out all opponents at once since it essentially turns all of my creatures into Multanis and Multani himself into a Double-Multani.
Tornado has Cumulative Upkeep? I pay at most one round of it. Generally you cast it, use it once on your turn. Then next turn you pay for next upkeep and use it twice more. That's a total of 9 life lost for 3 dead permanents. You usually don't want to pay 9 life for the 4th, but it's good to have the threat. Anyway, Tornado goes away after that. It's not a card you even want in play indefinitely.
If you have 11 mana, you can just cast it and use it twice, then get a third use on your upkeep and decline to pay the cumulative upkeep.
Anyway, my play experience has been that Tornado is orders of magnitude better than Desert Twister, so I'm curious why you've found Torando to be a dead card so often for you.

Well Tornado costs 6GG if you decide to use it the same turn you drop it. If you then activate in on your opponent's turn (assuming you still have mana available), it costs another 2G and 3 life. The following turn it essentially costs 2GG and 6 life after cumulative upkeep is taken into account. Also, notice that the ability can only be used once per turn. Granted you can use it on your opponent's turn, but it is still really expensive to keep it going. Destroying 3 permanents will cost you 10GGGGG and 9 life at the very least. I'll keep the D Twister.
Well you don't have to pay that mana all in one turn (in fact, you can't). And the alternative for using Desert Twister 3 times would be 12GGGGGG, which is 1G and 2 cards more (though 9 life less).
I mean, hey, it's your deck. I'm just saying that I've actually played with Tornado and it ends up being phenomenal, much better than Desert Twister. I understand the theoretical argument you're making, and I happen to disagree. But in addition to having a reason for disagreeing, I'm saying the empirical evidence also supports Tornado being amazing. Many times you really need to kill 2 permanents and only draw 1 card with which to do so.

So I've been trying to incorporate some non destruction-based artifact/enchantment hate to deal with Indestructibility which is becoming very very prevalent in my meta between Elspeth 1.0, and the major culprit Darksteel Forge. Besides Deglamer and Primal Command which are already in the list, does anyone know of additional cards to consider?
I actually run Collective Unconscious in my current decklist which can be seen here. Fecundity is ok but I don't know that I run enough creatures to be able to really abuse it.
If want another way to give Multani trample, look no further than Dragon Fangs. It's pretty easy bypass Multani's shroud as long as you bin Dragon Fangs at first... which shouldn't be too hard to do given the fact it's an aura.
I've begun construction on a Multani deck and plan on including a few different tricks for Multani.
First, Predatory Focus is a gem of a card that can usually knock off an opponent. In multiplayer games, I find this card is great for taking out a player early since you'll only have to swing for unblockable general damage, it leaves the general's goons untapped and defending.
Secondly, Bellowing Tanglewurm perhaps a more useful damage tech than trample, given mono-green's ability to deal with artifact creatures. This guy also is tutorable and just needs to get on the board to make our guys unblockable if you wait until opponents control no green creatures.
Glad to see some activity on the thread... I am becoming very convinced Multani may be one of the more underestimated sneaky-good generals. Kudos to you risk, as I was also very impressed with your posts on Momir Vig, just realized you were the op.
