Okay, so I'm not going to win many tournaments trying to mill out three opponents with 100 card decks simultaneously. But I'm going to have fun doing it, and by using one of the more flavorful commanders out there: Szadek, Lord of Secrets. He's the guild leader of House Dimir, the guild nobody knows about. Izzet is so mainstream.
I tried to stay away from single shot mill effects like Glimpse the Unthinkable and Archive Trap in favor of repeatable effects. Even then, I had to shave off some of the weaker ones until I was left with the cream of the crop that could (sort of) cut it in EDH.
The removal suite seems weird, but I chose to use only spells that put creatures on the top of my opponent's libraries. Not only is it annoying to have to draw and recast creatures, but I can turn those spells into removal by comboing them with mill effects. Just another way I made the build a little different than the average commander deck. There are a handful of combos in here, such as Tunnel Vision and any effect that puts a card on the bottom of a player's library, and the Mindcrank/Bloodchief Ascension combo. I also included a sweet trinket mage package and some ways to take advantage of my opponent's large graveyards.
I want to make room for about 3-5 mana stones for acceleration. Also, I think I might need to include Extract, Memoricide and Cranial Extraction to deal with Eldrazi Titans and other cards that shuffle graveyards into libraries. If anybody has experience with a deck of this style and can offer suggestions for what is too weak to realistically use, let me know!
It may seem underpowered, but milling at least one person at the table should be a triumphal victory. I can't wait to try it.
I get a ton of mileage out of Whispersilk Cloak in my ashling deck. Being able to swing once for 5 cards, twice for 10, thrice for 20, and so on till you can one shot a player's library? Priceless.
Dralnu, Lich Lord, Rings of Brighthearth, and Mirari are all possible considerations. All work well with multiple pieces of your deck. Dralnu might be a good alternative commander if you want to try the same idea with a different route of victory.
I think some more graveyard hate would be useful, especially against graveyard abuse decks because otherwise your mill is just helping them. Leyline of the Void stops Eldrazi and Nihil Spellbomb cantrips. Shred Memory is another option you could try.
