I've built many decks in EDH, but i've yet to build a Voltron deck. I wanted to play a green deck because I like green, but I didn't want to build the norm (Rafiq etc). So, I went with Isao, Enlightened Bushi. He is flavorful, he has a low cost, he cannot be countered, he can protect himself, and he carries equipment and enchantments of the like very well.
First, the deck. Following it I will provide reasoning for card choices.
First off, Isao's weapons. Everything looks like the generic good equipment of course. A couple maybe unusual inclusions are the Vorrac Battlehorns and Darksteel Plate. The horns are great because I think when going for general damage trample really helps you get there. They only get better with the more you equip to Isao as well. The plate is there for more colorless general protection, making Exile effects the only answer short of a tuck.
As for Isao's Favor, I added Steely Resolve (obviously naming Samurai) because it will make him near unkillable with Regenerate mana up.
Normal Overrun type cards to get the damage there. Time of Need is there to mainly grab Dosan for more protection, but can also grab Glissa if you need the removal, and can even grab our General if he is unfortunately tucked.
For Isao's Backup I put in creatures that on their own can't really be win-cons, but with Isao beating down and these creatures being great utility, we can forge a warpath to victory.
For Isao's Divine Intervention, I added what Green removal I thought was good. Plenty of Artifact and Enchantment destruction for when I need it, and even Moment's Peace for when we need to calm the storm for a couple turns.
Isao's Tools are nothing surprising. General goodstuff. Survival of the fittest is there to help us get what utility creatures we want when we want them, and can even help us find our general if he gets tucked.
Exploring Faraway Lands; spells to go grab lands or ramp up your lands. I think i'd rather go this route than adding things like Grim Monolith, Basalt Monolith, and Mana Vault because I like having my mana untap each turn in this type of deck, and it'll thin our deck out for better draws.
The Lands that Isao Walks are pretty generic. A bunch of Snow-covered Forests and a few good utility lands. Gaea's Cradle might not be insane in this deck, but it'll hopefully always be tapping for at least one, and when it taps for more, it's obviously worth it. Scrying Sheets is there for end of turn activation to help get the lands off the top of your deck and into your hand.
A couple good notes on having Snow-covered basics; we get to add Mouth of Ronom which is a land I personally love, and also, when we imprint one of them onto our Extraplanar Lens, chances are our opponent won't benefit from the effect since they won't be running the Snow-covered variants.
As always, suggestions welcome. I want to make this deck better than it already is, as always is the goal.
Things I should take out? Things I should put in? More equipment? More removal?
Have you considered Thrun, the Last Troll instead? For a mere G more (which means he can easily come down on the same turn that Isao does since most green accel is 2 mana), he has Hexproof and +2/+3

One thing you might want to watch out for: If you have SoFaF or SoBaM on him, you can't regenerate him, since he can't target himself. Same goes for shroud effects. Another point in Thrun's favor. Isao does get you a ton of cool points, I have never seen an Isao deck before, looks awesome!

Thanks! And yeah I considered Thrun but I realllly like Isao from a flavor standpoint. Flavor goes a long way with me. And hey... good point on the swords and shroud stuff. I might have to cut those out for simply better beatdown equips.
Other than that, any ideas on cards? Are the mana ramp stuff etc looking alright?
Thanks!
