Yeah. Samurai Tribal. Wanted to try monocolored, and this is what I came up with. The general's name works perfectly, too. The point of the deck is to pull off a lot of combat tricks. Let me know what ya think.
wizards needs to print more samurai, your deck is basically Kami block with some extra white filler.. and your general is slow, you're going to get rolled over by any blue deck (which might not be a problem is people who you're going to be playing against don't play blue generals)
Actually, the number of Samurai doesn't matter. Bushido as a mechanic was only introduced in Kami block, so there wouldn't be any point to run Samurai from outside of that era (in terms of generals, that is).
You've got some weak cards in here that could definitely be improved. Try Swell of Courage over Gleam of Resistance for starters. Armored Ascension seems much better than Mantle of Leadership if you really want an aura in that slot. Return to Dust over Divine Offering. Endure just doesn't seem very good, there is a card spoiled in M10 that looks much better. Recumbent Bliss doesn't shut off their activated abilities and gains life extremely slowly, Prison Term is probably a lot better. If you want to push the life gain theme more try Beacon of Immortality.

As for good creatures to choose from, Reya Dawnbringer, Crovax, Ascendant Hero, and the aforememtioned Akroma, Angel of Wrath come to mind.
