MTGS Wiki is a wiki for all matters pertaining to Magic that is graciously hosted by Curse folks, the owner of MTGS and magiccards.info. The primary function of MTGS Wiki is to host information about Magic: The Gathering®, including but not limited to its sets, expansions, and other products; novels, comics, and storylines; designers, developers, columnists, authors, artists, and other employees. Secondary to this, MTGS Wiki will bear information on the MTGS Forums, such as those on the Website itself; its fora, subfora, subsubfora; notable users and those that create their own user pages; and other matters that are of relative significance.
Wiki Subsubforum Guidelines
As of September 2012, this subsubforum is currently without a moderator. Hopefully, with civility, commonsense, and discretion, no moderation is necessary, and the most staffers are to do are merges and moves.
Please read the Forum Rules, though not all may be applicable or as stringently enforced here.
Please do not spam, flame, troll, repeatedly commit atrocities against languages, including English (e.g., do not repeatedly use "bad" orthography, which includes spelling, punctuation, and grammar/syntax); advertise; or solicit of any variety, which includes article begging, the act of asking for an article to be created or edited, especially without any intention of contribution or contribution by the beggar. Valid solicitation is, however, an exception; an example of this would be asking questions or posting a request that may be addressed within reason.
Double posting, bumping, and necroing are most definitely not an issue here.
MTGS Wiki shall, till further advisement, solely be in English. There are more than enough issues with the articles that are in English, and translations at this point are neither substantial or contributory to the entire project, particularly with issues perpetuated time and again.
The amended former rule, for reference and for what it's worth, apropos English was:
Repeated poor English
Repeated poor orthography, syntax; "text speak", and/or gratuitous abuse/misuse of English in posts will not be tolerated.
Whether or not English is your first language, if you once in a while make mistakes, don't worry. However, if you constantly make mistakes and make no effort to improve, do worry.
We understand that, for some, you are not as proficient in English than others. We're not heartless, and there is some latitude or leniency.
If you have problems with spelling, please install a spellchecker.
MTGS Wiki: Accounts and Account/IP blocks Accounts
Accounts and blocks are pertinent to editing. Since its early history, the default level for editing at MTGS Wiki was the registered user. Later, I asked for the level to be dropped to all editors, including IPs; but, as of August 2012, that has once again been elevated to registered user.
The benefits of open editing, without logging in, include ease-of-access; however, this may promote laziness among editors, particularly as accounts are easy to sign up for and logging in isn't that painful. Open editing also saw a surge of spammers and vandals. Limited editing equates to a higher level of accountability for edits. It's not broken, so there's yet to be a reason to fix it.
There are higher access levels or sets of editing privileges. These are administrator or system operator (i.e., sysop) and bureaucrat. A sysop may protect and delete pages in addition to regular editing functions.
Registration
To register an account with MTGS Wiki, please click here and follow the prompts.
Blocks
Rather than bans, as one sees on MTGS, accounts and IPs are blocked on the wiki. This means that an account or IP cannot edit until the block expires, if ever.
Users can, and will, be blocked for reasons, including, but not limited to:
vandalism
solicitation or spamming
impropriety
repeated variations from the Manual of Style or other guidelines, particularly after notices and requests
The administrators/system operators (sysops) of MTGS Wiki reserve the right to block any IP or account at their discretion.

As of the present, deep technical matters are dealt with by Curse folks. MTGS Wiki runs the MediaWiki software.
CAPTCHA
In 2008, CAPTCHA was implemented so as to reduce the number of automated and human-controlled link spammers (also known as adbots, even if non-automated; single-purpose accounts; adspammers) and other vandals. To complete the CAPTCHA, a user identifies two words and enters those words.
An alternative, audio-based CAPTCHA is available. To complete this version of the CAPTCHA, a user types the eight (8) numbers that are spoken, in English, by various individuals during the audio track.
Help and Contact Us
Further information is available at Help:Contents at MTGS Wiki and at one's request. Contact details are listed at Help:Contents. Sometimes, sysops become inactive due to real-life commitments or, in some cases, due to lack of commitment.
If, (having read this), you wish to register with MTGS Wiki, welcome. We hope you enjoy the wiki and make many meaningful contributions!
If you are already an editor of the wiki, we value you as well!
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Because he's the hero MTGS deserves, and the one it needs right now. So we'll global him. Because he can take it. Because he's not just our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. An expired rascal.

Dearest MTGS Wiki users,
Please cite DailyMTG.com references like this:
{{DailyRef|URL following <nowiki>Article.aspx?x=|title of article|author(s) (e.g., [[Mark Rosewater]], "Magic Arcana", or Wizards of the Coast)|date of publication (if any)}}</nowiki>
Please use citation templates as this standardises the reference at the bottom of the article* as well as ensures depth of information and general quality.
*Consistency: +++. Also if WotC decides to change its URL structure, we can modify the template to account for changes in URLs. There's absolutely no way anyone or any number of people are going to go through the wiki and fix up the references.
AND WE CANNOT NOT HAVE REFERENCES EITHER. The world has changed. Life goes on. Those days are gone and we can't repeat.
PLEASE USE REFERENCESBUTDO NOT USE BARE URLs. Thanks.
Without delving into the technical details, account registration is currently unavailable. This is a matter that only individuals with back-door access to the hosting servers can address. System operators of MTGS Wiki are themselves unable to do anything about this; though, on behalf of the others, I apologize for this and what is conceivably an inconvenience to prospective editors.
We are - or at least I am - looking for resolutions to this issue (and the larger one that prompted the turn-off of account registration). Please bear with us. Thanks.

Was there ever any progress on this front? If not, is anyone working on it?
What will happen to the wiki when we move over to the Beta?
It should still be there, but we've nagged the curse techs that there's no link o the wiki. As for what the aesthetics might be... well, we haven't seen anything at all for any new shell, but there again, I don't think a new shell is actually all that called for considering it's running off different software in the first place.

The beta has a link to the Wiki, actually. (Maybe it didn't initially?)
