My inbox is filled with spam from mtg salvation. This was never an issue with the old site. I don't need to get emailed every time someone so much as breathes in my direction. So my question is: How do I stop receiving an email every time someone personal messages me? If I cannot find a solution I will just delete my account. Thank you for your time.

Came here to post a similar question. On the old site, if someone posted in a thread I was subscribed to, it would send me an email. Then I wouldn't get another notification for that thread until I visited the site again. Now, I get notifications every single time someone posts in the thread, no matter what. So I went out to dinner tonight came home to find 9 emails about a single thread.
Can we fix it so it works like it did before? There's really no advantage to this system that I can see. Once you've let me know there's new activity in the thread, I don't need 8 more emails over the next 3 hours to make sure I notice.
You can change your notification settings to prevent such an avalanche by setting it to "daily digest" at the top. You'll only get 1 email a day with the notifications (and no email if you didn't receive any). You can also set it to only email you certain days, and at what time of the day.
Understood, but that's still not as good as what we had before (God I sound old. Get off my lawn).
I don't want a daily digest at the end of my day. I want to get an email ONCE when a thread I'm subscribed to is updated. Immediately. I just don't need to get 76 more emails when more posts are made before I get back. I've already gotten one notification that the thread is active. That's really enough.
If you log in, it'll show a notification in the star on the top right whenever there's been a post on one of your subscribed threads.
It's the closest we have, besides the daily digest.
It's just not set up to do it like the vBulletin boards did.
After everything gets settled in and all the major kinks worked out, then they'll focus on developing the software further.
Right now it's more about making everything work properly.
