This is my first real attempt at a competitive deck, based off a suggestion of a friend. Kind of like a Mono-red, but splashing green mainly for Bloodbraid Elf.
The sideboard is almost all theoretical; my thinking was Spray for Bloodghast, Footing against fog, Bolt against lots of flyers, and Fallout, well, because it's pretty awesome.
The point is basically rush in for the win as quick as possible, which has worked well so far. My only real problems are pretty much Vampire Nighthawk. If I can't bolt it straight away, which happens far too often, it just stalls me by itself.
I know that pump spells are not terribly effective these days, with over 9000 instant removals, but in our meta that is not so much of a problem, and I don't know what else to put in at the moment. So, any suggestions would be appreciated.
If you want pump spells, run Vines of the Vastwood. It's versatile and can give you +4/+4, assuming you can muster two green mana. I would also suggest Acidic Slime for the side, as anti-Valakut/Emeria/whatever. And you'd have to test, but Beastmaster Ascension could make a potential late game plan.
PS: I love the R/G deck above the "I am White/Blue."
As a connoisseur of fun, interesting matches, I still to this day have not been able to craft that "perfect deck"; the deck that I can play and have fun over time, doesn't get boring, but simultaneously is fun to play against. I honestly don't think it exists. It's like a unicorn. A ninja unicorn.

Great observation uber. I would also think about stags for the vampire's he may see. Also, if you would consider more than a splash of green, think about overrun.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it....
I see what you're saying, but I would definitely have to add more green mana for something like Vines or Stag.
I think putting in an Overrun would require much too green. This deck, whilst not needing very many lands out, does really need red mana on turn 1, and to support GGG would probably make that too hard.
I was thinking maybe sideboarding Punishing Fire instead of Branching Bolt for things like Vampire Nighthawk.
Acidic Slime may not be needed, I guess I'll see how the meta evolves.
I am White/Blue, but even we need to have fun sometimes, and winning on turn 5 is fun :D.
sure it can die to sweeper spells like earthquake but it is fast and surprisingly good ... Doj and Maelstrom Pulse are a little slow to be effective. too many creatures too fast
I do like Vol in the deck ... even more in Naya decks right now. Op's deck is all hasty so it could not need it. I would like to try it but garruk has creatures, overrun and tricks with Oran-Rief, the Vastwood.
Ember Weaver is good tech right now. 3/3 first strike w/ reach is excellent.
The deck has a great sideboard for vamps.
To date, this deck overwhelms the entire feild. I have not run into many main deck pryroclasm and earthquakes. Testing has been ridiculous.. it best deck I have played this season.
Goblin Bushwhacker seems redundant (everybody already has haste) and not threatening enough here (after the initial turn, you have just paid RR for a 1/1). It does well in the R/W build as a two-of that allows you search for it with Ranger of Eos and attack with both of them (plus a Goblin Guide) for lots of damage out of nowhere. All your creatures attack right away, so it doesn't seem too good here.
I think you'd do better with Hell's Thunder in that slot.
If Vampire Nighthawk is really giving you that much trouble, maybe you should make a switch in the main with -2 Might of Oaks, -2 Colossal Might, +4 Branching Bolt?
I was just getting ready to post my fun deck I made with a buddy last night when I saw this post. Our idea is similar enough that I will just post here. We tried to take the Red Sligh deck and splash green to make it even better. Our deck at this time:
The deck is pretty self-explanatory I think. Sideboard reasoning:
1) Soul's Majesty for control opponents. When they run you out of cards late game, throw down a Ball Lightning and then refill your hand. Would be rarely played but as a 1-of, could help save some otherwise tough matchups.
2) Unstable Footing for Turbo Fog matchups.
3) Pyroclasm (could be Volcanic fallout but i dont recommend it) also for tokeny/Boros decks for obvious reasons. Also Caldera Hellion will help with both sweeping and it can always eat Goblin Guides that have become useless mid-game
@DairyQueen: As to your original idea, if I were to go that route with Rip-Clans and Bushwhackers, I'd lose either the Hell's Thunder or the Ball Lightning (probably the Ball) and put in 4 Violent Outburst You will have more cards that stick than I do so this card becomes better. Plus if you already have a couple beaters like Guide and Rip-Clan on the table, a BBE into a Violent Outburst into a Bushwhacker (which you can then kick, btw) makes for a pretty stupid turn. If I read it right you would be swinging with a 3/2 BBE, a 4/2 Rip-Clan, a 4/2 Guide, and a 4/2 Bushwhacker. (Or if you did this on turn 4 with no extra red mana, you still are swinging with 11 dmg on turn 4... not too shabby)
Oh, in your version especially, I agree with MDing Colossal Might over Vines regardless of green mana. You want your guys to have trample in a deck like this (in mine where they all do anyway, I might go Vines MD... haven't decided yet)
4 Rootbound Crag
2 Forest
16 Mountain
Creatures
4 Goblin Guide
4 Hellspark Elemental
4 Ball Lightning
4 Bloodbraid Elf
4 Rip-Clan Crasher
4 Goblin Bushwhacker
