I recently moved to Oregon and have a PTQ coming up for Grand Prix Portland. I have been playing Naya Midrange for most of the Gatecrash season but that deck archetype seems to have fallen heavily out of favor.
In a a new area with a brand new metagame, what deck would you choose to play?
Typically aggro decks are best if the meta is unknown, but junk reanimater wouldn't be bad either. Typically if you don't know what to expect have a proactive game plan not a reactive one.

I think this Last SCG open in atlanta is somewhat accurate depiction of the current trending meta.
If you want to win consistently the All-star Decks are Jund midrange and Junk Rites/Reanimator. If you want to grind it out the consistent aggro winners are Jund aggro/Experiment Jund, Naya Blitz and Aristocrats/Zombies brews. Naya Midrange is fine people are just bored of it and playing other stuff right now.
If you really are walking in blind I think Jund Midrange is really strong but expensive(*** Huntmaster). Naya Blitz has a really high win ratio right now but also has the worst possible match ups due to it curving out at 3 power. If you take that you'd just be throwing your cards at the table and hoping for the best. You'd probably win more than you'd fail but you might not have any fun doing it (IMO). Aristocrats is just really great, but I would not walk into a new meta and play it.
I play a cross between Jund Aggro, Experiment jund and jund mdrange. It has answers to most decks but it's also aggro. Meh I like it because it's aggro but more thinking.
TLDR
I like Jund-midrange Jund aggro and Naya Midrange for a first day out. Jund is more difficult to remove from the table. Naya Midrange has more tricks. Reanimator has all the tricks but could get murdered by aggro pretty easy.
I would go with an aggressive strategy like RG Aggro or Naya Humans. Junk Rites is hardly a bad choice either, unless you are detecting hate from scouting the area.
Junk Reanimator is by far the best deck in the field right now. However, if you're going in blind and don't have a lot of practice with the deck, your best bet is trying to avoid the mirror-match. That match can get irritating and drag out very long; the experienced player will win out.
Going in blind, Naya Blitz is a good choice in general. I think the only downfall of the deck is sometimes the awkward mana situations; but generally playing a ton of dudes the first 3 turns and having an attacking Frontline Medic on turn 4 can end a lot of games with relative ease.
