i know there's been some talk of the possibility storm / curse of exhaustion combo. i spent some time thinking about putting it with some r/w control cards and rounding it off with early game burn to see the deck safely into the later rounds.
as i said, searing spear and pillar of flame even the board in early game situations, and mizzium mortars can set up late game kills. thalia slows down there play, and boros reckoners is a great staller, because it can kill any walker. tajics indestructible help, and if he battalions with thalia its game over. assemble the legion applies increasing pressure, and of course 8 slots are devoted to the possibility storm/ curse of exhaustion win combo.
the sideboard makes the deck slightly faster if its stalling agianst a good control deck.
any thoughts you have would be apreciated. one of my favorite things about this is since i already run a strong boros deck, i dont need to invest much more to make this (a mortar, an aurelia, and 11 enchantments)
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
And you have 5 Possibility Storms in your deck. Also, Gift of Orzhova would be nice to equip to your creatures to gain some life while you're trying to get Possibility Storm out. And when you do it, Gift will trigger into Curse of Exhaustion.
I would make this only 2 Possibility Storm, 2 Curse of Exhaustion and 2 Gift of Orzhova instead of Assemble the Legion, you're going to win anyway if you have the two enchantments on the field so, I don't think you need some "Win more" cards.
I would stick up with 1 legendary of each one also, you don't want to have Aurelia on the Field, then play reckoner, possibility storm gets another Aurelia, that would totally suck.
Isn't a deck like this begging to use Oblivion Ring to help get your combo going? Also, why not utilize a third color? The only restrictive casting cost is reckoner, and you can get away with a third color with him.
A little worried what the decks "plan b" is, if possibility storm isn't drawn, and if it is a good one.
There's been some decks posted in SDC section about brewing around the combo. One being my own (sorry for the shameless plug, but my build is a little different).
After some more testing over c-trice here are a few things that I've noticed:
You'll need green to ramp/fog.
You'll need blue to protect/wrath.
You'll need to decide to build around the combo or let it be a back up. Both parts work mildly well on their own, but are expensive against this heavy aggro meta.
Thalia will probably hurt you more than them.
I've seen about three variances on the deck, one that is enchantment heavy (mine), one that is more focused on using Possibility Storm in a more tight and profitable manner, and one that uses instants/sorcs for more control.
These are all my takes on when I've been reading and shouldn't be read with any air of "be-all-and-end-all" from me about the deck.
With all that said, the deck is a lot of fun to play.
Splash black for enhanced control suite + Liliana of the Dark Realms for fixing?
Green for ramp isn't necessary if this is a control shell. Stabilize then combo out.
As for blue, black just seems stronger giving access to Dreadbore, Slaughter Games, and Rakdos's Return.
I'm only familiar with the Rakdos colors, but I'm sure Orzhov has good control spells too, like the Charm.
One other thing I learned is that X spells do not do well in this deck. With Possibility Storm out, if you pseudo-cascade into an X spell then you'll only be able to pay 0.
I can totally see a 5cc Version of this deck, being viable. PW's can be a real pain for this deck and splashing black for Dreadbore would be something I'd totally consider.

Where the Mortars falls short, Oblivion Ring steps in.
Very true... I run 2 (3 now I think) MB with a 4th in the SB.
I don't remember mentioning Mortars, but you have a point regardless.
I was really hoping for some results.
