Which probably means dropping Skywinder drake and Aven Fleetwing which are left overs from the original M12 draft deck.
Frost titan which is the only "expensive" card in there was also opened in a draft.
I should get myself some Day of Judgement as well particularly when some of my creatures benefit from dying but it is going up in price again :S.
Some of the Innstrad and Dark Ascension angels are also pretty interesting in this deck.
Suggestions on making the deck better?....
I know people say bounce is better than tapping but when a deck goes all out on the tapping it can be a pretty brutal lockdown.... Somehow being able to cast the creatures having them stay on the field but not do anything is much more frustrating for an opponent it is fun to watch them squirm.
Have you taken a look at Sunblast Angel? She fits the tapping theme pretty well and could be a better (and cheaper price wise) alternative to Day of Judgment since you could plan your creatures around it.
Maybe 2 of her and 1 Forst Titan would be all the big creatures you need. I like her better than Archon of Justice myself. Tumble Magnet is cool too.
A lot of your good damage also comes from flying (even with all the tapping) so other cards to consider could be Bladed Pinions (especially on an Avenger) and Spectral Flight. I didn't get a chance to analyze the deck and suggest a great mana base so that could change upon using it some. Obviously Glacial Fortress and Seachrome Coast exist. The Fortress isn't too bad for a good land ($5), but even I won't pitch in for Seachromes myself ($15)
You could use some card draw too, maybe in the form of Ponder and Think Twice. The Niblis of the Urn is pretty good for you, but I personally don't like the other two, but feel free to cut and paste cards as you see fit.
Hopefully I suggested a deck that still suits your original idea and nothing is too out of hand.
So after some testing the lockdown works well but actually winning the game is a problem... I am basically turbo Foging but my opponents win some other way...
E.g my Grand Architect deck gets a mindslaver lock
hmm Stiched drake.. I didn't think of that I have some of those lying around as well. I used to run Assault Griffin and Griffin Riders which were also the damage dealers in the M12 Draft Deck. (it was my first draft I came third) I dropped them when I pushed harder on the control, perhaps I will pull back a bit on the lock and return some of the aggro.
I can do a lot better than a dual land for $5 I think they are overrated... I could build a deck for the cost of 4 dual lands.
I need to buy 6 Mana leaks and a bunch of Islands I have only 6 mana leaks and 3 Blue decks :S if only blue wasn't so much fun..... Could I just Run Negates since I kind of want them to be running creatures so I can tap them.
You could run Negates, I just like Mana Leak because sometimes there are creatures you don't want on the field for some reason or another like Mayor of Avabruck, Inferno Titan, or worst of all, Geist of Saint Traft.
But yes, the problem with tapping to lock creatures is that it doesn't stop the fact that those creatures are there. You'll eventually run out of tapping effects or they will swarm you for the win. Think of it as preventing the inevitable maybe
Your only real way to win is to swarm over them with fliers for extra damage which is why I suggested Spectral Flight. A Flight on a Gideon's Avenger would be nasty. Another way to do this would be to put good buffing equipment on cheap flying creatures.
The Day of Judgment to spawn Roc Eggs or Doomed Traveler tokens idea is neat though. It's just the Doomed token is only 1/1, but the Roc is alright.
I suggested the Sunblast Angel because you could tap down your opponent's creatures at the end of their turn with instants and effects, then your stuff untaps and you play her to emerge unscathed. Stitched Drake is very nice because his 3/4 is hard to deal with and in this deck his graveyard cost won't be hard to do.
If you need Mana Leaks and Islands then I might suggest a Deck Builder's Toolkit. I can't promise it'll have what you're looking for but I think I got like 2-3 Mana leaks out of it, 20 of each land and a good variety of cards plus the 4 booster packs. They're about $20 and a lot of fun to open, plus the box is useful for storage.
I'd love to get my hands on Venser the sojourner ... that -2 ability and +1 are useful..there is a duel deck featuring him coming out later this year.. I'll probably buy... particularly if it is out near my Birthday.
I have Leviation... but Midnight Haunting might work better. just to build up some creatures on the field.
Although the DKA Spirit Lord is likely to get pricy it is only an uncommon which means it probably wont get too out of hand (the only one I know of that is ridiculously priced is Dismember)
4 Gideon's Lawkeeper
2 Doomed Traveller
2 Avacynian Preist
3 Gideon's Avenger
2 Skywinder Drake
2 Decevier Exarch
2 Roc Egg
3 Stonehorn Dignitory
2 Aven fleetwing
1 Archon of Justice
1 Ageis Angel
1 Frost Titan
4 Oblivion Ring
3 Feeling of Dread
2 Frost Breath
2 Negate
I am looking to update it for DKA.
need to fit in
Niblis of the urn
Niblis of the Mist
Niblis of the Breath

2x Avacynian Priest

3x Stitched Drake
4x Gideon's Avenger
2x Sunblast Angel
