Two core set cards that are meant to support Slivers indicate a full tribal theme? I think not. We'll probably get Centaur, Minotaur, and Gorgon lords, but that's about it.
All of those creature types were around in original Ravnica block, but Time Spiral wasn't Greco-Roman tribal. Things look a little more promising, but you're reeeeallly grasping at straws when one-member tribe makes your list, and the most populous one is five. The Boros have minotaurs, because minotaurs are awesome soldiers.

Doubt it, most cards that are tribal are in Innistrad right now and Ravnica is a just a mixxing bowl. What I am saying is that Ravnica has always had those creature types, and it seems to be a rule not to have similar theme blocks constantly in standard.
We might see a small amount of tribal, but it won't be something to write to home about.
I would not be surprised, but at the same time, I don't think this'll be a "Tribal Block." I think we'll see something vaguely along the lines of Odyssey, where we had a bunch of support for 'abnormal' tribes, although not as abnormal this time around. Still, I think Wizards was pretty happy with Innstrad's level of Tribal. I doubt we'll see it quite at that level, where every tribe was two colors, but, I'm guess we'll see a decent tribal subtheme. It's unlikely we'd see a full fledged tribal block this close to Innstrad, though, since that was very tribal oriented. Edit: Oh wait, you're basing this off of the creatures in Rav? Unlikely. There are some weird tribal things in M14 that imply it, but Rav stuff is Rav based. Period.

I think the tribes you suggested are spot-on. I mean, there is design space for tribal lords for these creature types, and this seems to be the set to do that. It is likely to happen, but the level of the theme pretty much will depend whether it gets pushed by other themes. I think it wil be much less than Innistrad though (baseless).
Minotaur Tribal? It's been said, but minotaurs were prominent in Boros (notably the infamous Boros Reckoner). It's enough that speculators drove up the price for, of all cards, Didgeridoo. They're selling for $6!
I can't imagine a themed tribal set as a themed tribal set rotates out.

I think they want to move away from the 3+ colour decks that dominate each multi-colored block, so theres a big chance they give us incentives by printing tribe cards and strong artifacts, which also fit thematically.
Also another one that seems to be a strong tribe:
Hydras
and maybe even warriors

Good catch on the hydra's.. they are getting thier lord in M14.
elves and goblins are going to have to take a break since they don't fit thematically.
merfolk can be made to fit.. Sirens are greco roman.
It might not be tribal but that doesn't mean we can't pick creature types we are likely to see.
Actually, what would be interesting would be a "Job" subtheme, rather than Tribe. So, Warriors, Wizards, scholars, ect. Tribes always come down to Race rather than Class.

This was the theme of Morningtide set. There was support for a lot of creature classes like archer, shaman, rogue and others.
Tribal is one of my favorite types of decks, but i thought that Class Tribal was just ok. Tribal lords make a lot of sense flavorwise, but its more of a stretch to have a lord that pumps all of your zombie/treefolk/human shamans all at once.
Going along with it potentially be a Tribal block, has anyone been considering it potentially being the wedge set?
-Gorgons: GUB
-Minotaurs: RWU etc.
Minotaurs could be the WRB wedge
but i realy think that if we will eventually see all the wedges it gonna be in diferent sets like:
Muraganda as the BUG wedge
IR as the WUR wedge
Kaldheim as the RUG wedge
but i dont know maybe we will get for each some thing like Lorwin's Treefolks WGB
Maybe Return to Alara can bring some good wedges suport.
Innistrad (the set; not the block, both Dark Ascension and Avacyn Restored were slightly subpar), had a virtually optional tribal subtheme. I'd go up to say that it was the perfect tribal compromise in a set. Rewarded you for playing tribal, but never forced you to play it at all.
Neither Zendikar and Rise of the Eldrazi were normal draft sets really. One was insanely fast, leaving half of the picks awful, and Rise of the Eldrazi was a battleship set. The theme there was essentially mana costs: big ones.
They very much feel normal to me compared to Lorwyn and Shards of Alara. The Zendikar block draft formats may have speeds of play that are outside of the expected bounds, but that's fine.
I also enjoyed M13, though that may be due to red getting underdrafted. 5 Searing Spears with some Archaeomancers and all evasion is a fun deck to have when you can get it.
I don't honestly want to see tribal in Theros, and I love tribal. I think it would take away from the flavor of the set. This is about heroes and monsters fighting to the death as their deity parents watch from afar. The whole team work thing does not work out so well, if your not a main character in Greek hero stories you are to most likely to die or get in the way.
I think that is the reason why they are giving us slivers, so that the tribal players don't feel ignored.

not a chance, not on the heels of ravnica. we won't see a wedge/shard/multicolor centric block until after m16 or later, probably not until after m17 or m18. a good chunk of the next year worth of standard is going to be dominated by ravnica since it will be a huge majority of the card pool, and they won't do another variation of a multicolor block as rav rotates out just like rtr wasn't artifacts and theros will probably have little to no graveyard interaction
I hope it is a tribal set, if for no other reason than to bolster the tribes for Modern. With that in mind, I hope we don't get a whole bunch of oddball tribes. One or two would be okay (Minotaurs!), but I do want to see some solid Goblin support.
elves and goblins are going to have to take a break since they don't fit thematically.
There are Greek goblins called Kallikantzaros, and Pygmies could be portrayed as goblins as well. Goblins fit on pretty much any plane.
merfolk can be made to fit.. Sirens are greco roman.
I had the same thought, but it appears that in Magic sirens are not merfolk at all! (Perhaps Alluring Siren will finally get a friend?)
Are Angels out?
The word "angel" is from the Greek word "angelos," which means messenger. I think that's enough for them to get included (along with the massive player love for the type, of course.) Demons and Dragons are also fine.

That's medieval mythology, so deeply unlikely. Bringing in everything that goes with the Byzantines and later radically changes the aesthetic and feel of things, to the point where it would just feel like a generic medieval set with middle eastern influences rather than an Ancient Greece and Rome themed set. Pygmies are a possibility though.
