Besides, what's wrong with just using Tezzeret's Gambit? In monoblack, it's basically Sign in Blood + Proliferate for one more mana.
Sign In Blood can also be used on your opponent, though. I know it only happens in niche situations, but my brother has killed me a few times this way.

Not to mention Tezzeret's Gambit costs one more mana, still costs 2 life, and the proliferate could be entirely pointless.
I'm hoping they print some sort of useful black card draw in the core set.
I'm starting to wonder if green is actually usurping black for being the #2 card drawer. With Hunter's Insight and Garruk 2.0, it makes me believe this is starting to become the case.

That would be a pretty heavy blow to black, I hope you're wrong and we just get a whole mess of absurd black card draw in Innistrad, including Bob, arena, and Necropotence.
Black doesn't get card draw very often so it's not weird that M12 excludes it.
Perhaps R&D is worried that black is too strong, and want to take away some of it's card advantage. Or perhaps they want to print a card draw spell in Innistrad and don't want too many of them in standard. Or perhaps Sign in blood was removed to make way for other cards, M12 does have alot of vampires with bloodthirst that probaly pushed out other cards.

Straight card draw seems to be secondary in green, whereas life-for-cards seems to be primary in black. Not even blue can draw like black can when you're paying life.
Maybe we'll get Necro. I mean, it got reprinted in 5th Edition.
For the sake of synergy with all the INN graveyard cards, maybe they'll print something like a better Skulltap / Vivisection as the last unspoiled Black card.
I don't ever see necropotence coming back, isn't banned in legacy? but bob I can, and you have the arena demon coming.
The arena demon is to card draw, what the new sphinx is to Fact or Fiction. I think it's complete garbage, I would love to be proven wrong, but I don't see it being useful in competitive play. Night's Whisper, Sign in Blood, and Phyrexian Arena are all examples of great black card draw that isn't overpowered, maybe we'll see something like one of them in Innistrad, remember when they didn't print Birds of Paradise in Ninth Edition? That was because they were printing it in Ravnica 3 months later, hopefully this is a similar situation.

In Tenth Edition there was Graveborn Muse and Phyrexian Rager. Ninth Edition there was Phyrexian Arena. Eighth Edition had Ambition's Cost and Phyrexian Arena. Seventh Edition had Greed, Infernal Contract, Necrologia, and Reprocess. Sixth Edition had Greed and Infernal Contract.
So in reality, Black has had card draw in the Core sets since 1999.

I'm hoping for Necro. Black summer all over again!
no seriously though.
Hopefully Bob with get reprinted. He's not broken for standard and it'd be good for Modern to have accsess. Hopefully he'd be rare, and not mythic, so his price is massive.

well... there's still 28 cards to be spoiled, and it looks like most of them are rare or uncommon, so let's not be too down about it.... not to mention, as said there's still plenty of other things accessible anyways.

There never going to reprint necropotence, There's card advantage and then there's :mad:CARD ADVANTAGE:mad:.
necro was broken as hell and was banned for a reason.
Yeah I was pretty much joking about Necro, and even Bob, all I want is something small and balanced like Arena or SiB/Night's Whisper, black doesn't need OP draw, just some sort of playable draw. If there isn't anything in M12, I would expect there to be something in Innistrad, as we'll have SiB until then anyway.
This seems like a pretty big oversight to me, seeing as how black is already weaker than it should be in the card drawing department.

If you hate the deck, I'm probably playing it!

They already did cycling for Alara block. They won't reuse cycling so quickly.
Fifth Edition also had Necropotence.
