Wow I forgot I did include renaissance downshifts a few to many years ago. I don't remember if I cut it for being bad or because I didn't like that technicality, but either way it's gotta be bad by now
I have been more than happy with wraths being 6 mana, and I would find the jump up to 4 mana for what is a wrath 95% of the time on turn 4 (Languish) to be very very jarring.
Also, what is the flavor on lizard blades?
I would also imagine that triskelion is unplayable without some way of reloading it repeatedly. If it were to be downshifted, it needed to be a few to many years ago.
Echewing the rarity restriction on lands is one of the most beneficial things I've ever done to my cube. I strongly recommend it. If anything, it lets you talk to me on more familiar grounds haha
I actually have been working on a "Lorwyn Remastered" cube for a couple years, and in an effort to rebalance the tribes I'm experimenting with putting indomitable ancients at uncommon. It probably doesn't ruin a board state any worse than a ravenous chupacabra does.
Moonsilver Spear snowballs too much to an uncommon, even in like some masters set I would fear. It ends up on a a flyer, like one of the ones it generates, and it ends the game. Our format could probably manage it, but only in the... "you probably get out-tempo'd on average but it will dictate like a third of the games" sort of way like Loxodon Warhammer.
I mean, Phyrexian Scuta is only a couple hairs worse than ravenous giant. Call of the herd is... probably still playable? Not exciting but it wouldn't surprise me to see two 3/3s still worth a card.
I mean, re-read what you said, it's easy to get confused there, it has nothing to do with critically thinking homie
I reread what I said when I made my second post. I just don't know how anyone could take the words at face value, since that would I believe a 3 mana sweeper isn't a card that a lot of people would want to cube. It's weird that if I italicized the word "any", there would have been no confusion.
Presumably Leelue meant that not EVERY red deck wants Slagstorm.
Maybe, but he said any lol
Because Slap phillips said "Slagstorm especially because it's the kind of effect any red deck wants."
So I was just reusing the words
He clearly meant that the lava spike mode + the sweeper mode made the card good for either a fast or slow deck.
If someone thought that I literally don't think there's a red deck that wants a 3 damage sweeper, they're not thinking critically.

I'm not sold that Spirit Away is better than Lay Claim, for what it's worth.

It's an easy way to inflate the EV of a set, since even low tier lands are still worth more than trash rares.
