just want to point out that there's nothing against the CoC going on here, unlike tournament magic (or most online poker sites, I believe) there is no "one person, one hand" rule on mtgo. live streaming is 100% within the rules.
I'm sure some people get an advantage from it, but equally I'm sure some get distracted and play worse or slow enough that they time out (i've definitely seen that happen). The thing you also need to remember is that there's only a small handful of streamers who actually get more than a dozen viewers, so it's a really small problem in the scheme of things if it's a problem at all.
idk, as I'm in the StarCraft scene, there was some people that were just poison to the community that just ghosted the streamers so much that it was kind of... stupid.
All I'm just saying that I hate ghosters. purposely going and saying "oh this person is streaming the same event as me, let's watch and look at his hand" is... within the rules/coc/tos (like it is in StarCraft), but it's really low... and kind of ... ugh >_>
EDIT: unless you're referring/responding to someone else
Hey, frustrated burn player here. I have been playing variations on this in pauper for over a year now and find it extremely difficult. I autolose to flicker and glimmer posts even with ld (they usually just counter it anyway). I also find the deck has a questionable matchup with infect.
But really the lifegain is a HUGE issue and there is a lot of it in pauper. Aside from glimmer post I have seen armadillo cloaks in hexproof decks and random other life gain. I really wish skullcrack was common...
well, the *post decks are T1, and iirc burn is unfortunately T3 at best in pauper imo anyways. (because of how the format pans out)
What a warm welcome (pun intended).
I play Modern more than Standard, TVM.
And I am enjoying a W splash over B.
All you gain with B is BItN and DRS. Whereas with W, you gain 3 spells that damage and gain life. This gives you a chance to last longer. Yes, I count Spark Trooper as a spell.
I have an updated decklist, but I want to test it a bit more before I post it, to the upset of all involved.
Now, I understand everyone wants to jump on the cheap burn bandwagon, but I have a lot of faith my list pushes the archetype over the top. Heck, throw in a Black splash for BItN or DRS. IDC. Maybe I should as well.
But when I come in here and get shot down out of hand... well, that's just rude. Especially if you're going by theory-crafting or judging by forum posts. Suit up, take it for a spin, then get back to me.
your goal in burn/rdw in general is to just kill him
not to survive and gain life at all (unless it works for your plan) but that card's too slow for modern really.
how can you claim you invented the deck when here was a version of it going around forever now that used wee dragonnauts already.
furthermore.
why is lotus petal needed? the mana is already fine in the deck. ive never had to hold cards that i didnt want to hold already. lotus petal is free yes, but a terrible top deck when youd much rather draw something that is going to advance your fiend or cyclops.
also momir single elimination sounds really silly.
(NOTE: if they don't fix the problem or at least revert back to something that works for DE's again, then welp)
...
utterly bad as removal (3 mana sorcery speed removal? come on, there's better removal than that at instant speed and cheaper)
how would he have a link for a tournament that's just been played ~4 hours ago on mtgo

That's all I'm going to say.

actually I liked the flavor of kamigawa >_>
but mechanically it was bland

hmmm... yeah I don't see how he can be the one that "created" it then' *shrug*
also you can take that further and say that anything in pauper can get countered. oh no, guess it's time to play an all land deck...
oh wait...or not. cause lands die to land destruction too
