Drop Vraska, Tamiyo, and Jace. This is not the deck they'd fit in. Put in Golgari charms in their place for regenerate against sweepers. Doesn't do anything against mutilate and terminus, but manages supreme verdict and bonfire well enough.
My LGS has the usual water/soda/chips. Across the street there's a gas station, and there's an In-N-Out and Taco Bell within 5 mins (There may be more fast food joints, but those are the only ones anyone ever gets). Probably once a month a bunch of people will order pizzas from Hungry Howies as well.
why play Clone if u can play Cackling Counterpart??.
Because UU1 is occaisonally rather hard to hit (I can't cavern it), and it is not as versatile as Clone, since Clone can hit my opponents creatures. I've had a couple biomancers on the board, cloned an opponents resto angel, bounced the original biomancer with no counters... you get the idea.
I also don't see why you'd suggest a card with UU1 as its cost when you're also a proponent of splashing black. You're just asking to get yourself color screwed.
why play Yeva, Nature's Herald? is the same curve with Master Biomancer.
Because its a good card (and elf) that allows for some interesting and fun combat tricks. Its not like you're running a playset of her or anything.
Golgaria Charm is need x4 main.
I'm still not convinced splashing black is worth it. We will see.
Farseek no is a elf or creature, the core of the deck is creatures, at this point we need a good 2cc creature.
You can't let yourself run subpar creatures like Gyre Sage just because they're a creature/elf. What other options do we have in the 2 drop shot? Gyre Sage is downright awful. Zameck Guildmage is nearly pointless before a biomancer is on the field. Korozda guildmage actually has some decent potential, but again, I'm still not convinced of the need to splash black.
Anyways. A card to consider in the deck is also Cyclonic Rift. Most of the time I'm using Simic Charm to bounce problematic creatures anyways, but with elf mana ramp, it wouldn't be hard at all to overload it at the end of an opponents turn, then you have a clear board to alpha strike in on during your turn.
@ zerokku great deck I have been testing it! There is a possibility I will play this IRL. It seem really solid. Clone is awesome! After testing I switched Vorapede or Thragtusk, and I have liked that better. Yeva, Garruk, and Thragtusk make board wipes less painful too. Thx for the awesome deck!
Yah I'll likely be building this IRL even if its not my "main" deck. There is a small change to the list above
Thrag is one of the better (and sadly few) answers we have to board wipes. I'm debating on switching out the Glaring spotlight in the board out for Creeping Renaissance which while not perfect, may be a solution.
Since 75% of the time I use Simic Charm to bounce something problematic anyways (the other being hexproof), I'm also debating on taking out 2 for 2 cyclonic rifts. It shouldn't be hard to overload it with elf mana ramp, which makes for a nice and easy alpha strike.
Almost beat me to it. (The politely chastising him, that is. ) Haven't thought about the Clone route. Has that worked well? The more elves the better.
Clone is the star of the deck for me. Cloning biomancers can get hilarious. Cloning Archdruid can allow you to hit the mana ramp you need, and keep your guys out of burn range. Cloning Thragtusks (if you have them in your list) can keep you going at the last minute. And best of all, sometimes the best answer you have to an opponents threat is cloning it (Boros Reckoner, Geist of St. Traft, etc.)
X-post from my post over in the developing thread.
Been running something similar with pretty decent success. That being said I've found Zameck guildmage all but pointless and gyre sage is downright awful since most creatures aren't going to be triggering evolve. I was running her until someone pointed out that elvish archdruid will not trigger evolve, and makes it even harder for her evolve to trigger. Farseek in her spot has done far better for me.

Would Gyre Sage get a counter from Elvish Archdruid being cast since at the time of casting Gyre Sage is a 1/2? Or would Elvish Archdruid's buff come in to play before evolve triggers?

Plays very well, and my local meta is mostly midrange and control, so I don't have to worry too much about the lack of a 1-drop. Farseeks, Knight of Glory, and Selesnya Charm tokens are my general turn 2 plays.
The thing that actually excites me about this deck is that it seems like it could/should be viable in this meta and it hasn't even gotten any guild support bar Selesnya. In Gatecrash we get access to Boros and Gruul which should bring some nice aggressive/midrange creatures as well as our shocklands for consistency/ability to run arbor elf.
Agreed. I'm running GWu right now, but I think Naya will be the definitive version of the GWx deck archetype when Gatecrash hits. I'll be stocking up on Clifftop Retreat and the like as we approach Gatecrash myself. Even if naya doesn't pan out, I still want to build a boros deck so it works out either way

With all the crazy decks people are planning, I'm considering going back to my red mage roots. Any suggestions/critiques/etc.?
