Well, I don't run batterskulls. Chances of getting wurmcoil or platinum angel out on turn 3 are slim. Condescend and remand do completely nothing against 1 mana burn spells. Repeal has nothing good to target. Burn sides in Smash to smithereens against your platinum angel and wurmcoil G2...
so yeah, I think this deck has a bad matchup against burn (not just think, It's been tested).
And I also lose a lot against burn because of my bad luck (goblin guide on T1 almost every game ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) )
EDIT: some typos
That's the downside of those cards against certain decks. But really. Do you want to alter your whole deck just for a single match up? We are already playing a bad handicap against fast decks - Burn, Affinity, Zoo, at times Delver. Now that is where your sideboard choices would matter. Personally, I run Mana Leak over Remand because of its consitency in terms as a countermagic and ofc, budget issues, nevertheless it performs well in all types of matchups.
Also, I would suggest in playing this deck to not focus on the slaver lock because this almost always allow you to overextend your board and focus on combo-ing off rather than controlling.

I like your plan however in games where it will take too long, you'll just sit there with no cards to disrupt the lands. If you want to take it to that level, I'd add R to get Boil or Boiling Seas and Ajani Vengeant. I'd personally add Sun Titan to recur the enchantments too. If you want to get Gideon on a harder shell, add Tamiyo and Kiora. Porphory Nodes are weak, instead Go for Supreme Verdict or some DoJs if you're color restricted. Root Maze is significant enough to delay Affinity for a few turns, you'll still need those sweepers, imo. Gideon will not be enough to be a win con if he gets chomp blocked every time. If all else fail, and I think you can manage to cast it, add Emrakul.
But playing in this color and manner is very similar to Death and Taxes though..

Just built this deck out of bravery and I'm afraid I'll get destroyed for awhile as I figure it out.
One thing I'm curious about is Squelch. It pops up in the sideboards of nearly every successful U-Tron deck. What are all of Squelch's applications? I know that's a big question, but I'm afraid to overlook matchups where it'd be useful.
You can stop a lot or decks with it. Death and Taxes, Merfolk, Pod, Twins, and more. If you play against your meta in your LGS(like me), I'd main them always. Oh and I love Squelching their fetches, delaying them significantly.

It might have been mentioned but what about a singleton Emrakul in the SB? Even if utron is favored in the control MU.
Yes it's been mentioned already. I've finally replaced my Blightsteel Colossus for an Emrakul, now as a 2-of MD and with a singleton Eye of Ugin, a 2-of Emrakul grants me higher chance that he is on my hand. I've played a game where only Treasure Mage was in my board, getting the Mindslaver lock on a lucky 13 mana, I got his life down to 14 in a few turns because he was able to block my 2/2, finally casted Emrakul for game. That took me I think 3-5 slaver locks to get him to 14. I personally love Emrakul whether in aggro matchups and espcially control.

I love that list although I'd remove 1 Dismember for another Aetherize since my meta plays a lot of aggro, and a number of D&T and Storm is also a concern for me that's why I'm having trouble in the right amount of SB cards for aggro and combo. I'm guessing that Chalice will solve the problem? Idk. Here's what I've came up with and still lacking:

I'm just throwing off the bat here, Earthquake seems bad in decks against token? They are aggro, but they run flying spirits. Ofc, not a lot of people play tokens but in times where you'd really want to clear board, Earthquake seems lackluster in it. Not to mention you need to clear board while saving some life, and Earthquake doesn't do this. Without changing or adding anything, Cyclonic Rift seems to me a better card even in aggro matchups, whether Affinity(lol Hurkyl's Recall/Vandalblast), Bears, and more especially tokens.

Although the Deck was incomplete i recognized a few things:
1. Tolaria West
Most lists doesn't include him. Why not? Fetching for Tron Pieces is a good thing i thought.
2. Solemn Simulacrum and Talisman
Often they have been a dead draw. The 3/3 split stays the next week(s), but in mid- to lategame i want to have other Cards.
3. Mindslaver
To go for the Lock we need 12 Mana open. That is 5 Tron Pieces. with that amount of Mana i'd like to cast one of the Eldrazi's.
What upsets me is, that we need 2 Pieces for that Lock, the Ruins and the Slaver. I found myself often Mana flooded and instead wish
for an Emrakul instead a Slaver. I won't change that, but i will add an Emrakul to my SB against Control Matchups.
4. Cyclonic Rift
Sometimes it felt good, sometimes not. Needs more playtesting
I was wondering that the lists doesn't run cards from the theros Block. There are so many blue Instants / Sorcery's that Scry's.
Isn't there anything useful?
1. Tolaria West deserves a playtest but it is still to slow compared to the maps, but it could be the 5th-6th map, and it will also fetch us some key lands as well(see below).
2. Try a 2-of Talisman/Signet, the ramp isn't required turn 3 anyways since were not ramping to drop threats fast.

I posted my deck here at Mono-U Tron thread because I still play it as it is compared to how the guys would play it in Izzetron thread. I have played so many non-meta modern lists that sported Iona, and Mistcutter Hydra'd Hatebears, and I'd like to mention Banefire in all of these games. Past X=10 and it is game. If I could change or add something in the deck, I'll add more Banefire of you ask me. Blightsteel Colossus was always a shocker. They'd expect an Emrakul but would lose due to infect instead. Also, the colossus serves to be the alternate win-con in games where Wurmcoils are out or exiled. Oh and I have play tested with Soul Sisters and other weird lifegain modern decks, we were playing at high 50-100s life, he lost via infect.
Downside though I'm not running any Sundering Titans that can disrupt the opponent's plan. I haven't tested a list without any Solemn Simulacrum because really it is a good card advantage for us, and it's on the curve; it is one of those "glue cards" that make the deck run faster and smoother.

Not to bring up the URzatron deck here but this list only splashed a single ton R for Banefire and Counterflux. In my playtest with Storm, it is a winner. Banefire also allowed me to win the clock while on Mindslaver lock and reach was definitely faster whenever I draw this card. As you also may notice I am using Mana Leak, reason being I have no Remands and I still can't find sellers for it, atm that's all I can think of right now as a replacement, help is appreciated. My only concern for the deck is the sideboard, I'm not sure if I need Chalice of the Void. Everything else runs smoothly, no competition results as of now. I'm also thinking to put in a singleton Fabricate in place of 1-of Sad Robot.

FUN FACTS: 6-0 in the modern PE. 12-0 in games. lol.
Heh I remember playing lsv in that daily a few weeks ago?.. I kept a terrible hand g3 and drew my way out of it. After looking at his game 1. I either played perfect or he just let too many things resolve and his leaks became useless. IDK which is the case.
RD 5: UR Delver (2-0)
+2 Spell Pierce
+1 Repeal
+3 Dismember
+1 Relic of Progenitus
-4 Remand
- 1 Solemn
-2 Talisman of Dominance
RD 6: UWR Control (2-0)
+2 Spreading Seas
+2 Spell Pierce
+2 Relic of Progenitus
-1 Cyclonic Rift
-3 Talisman of Dominance
-1 Fabricate
-1 Platinum Angel
TOP 8:
UWR Control (2-0)
Same as rd 6
BG Rock (2-1)
+2 spell pierce
+3 dismember
+1 repeal
-3 talisman of dominance
-1 spell burst
-1 Mindslaver
-1 Remand
Finals v the same UR delver as rd 5. (0-2)
Stumbled out of the gate in both of these games. Took 2nd in last weeks PE. Very easily could have won it outright. Oh well. There is how you should sideboard v these decks. IMO.
Wow. Good report with the deck man. I notice that in all of your games you always +2 Spell Pierce in. Isn't it worth an MD spot now? Seems like both Spell Snare and pierce are really effective in modern nowadays.

Hey guys, I'm interested in building this deck. I just want to ask why aren't Chromatic Star and Chromatic Sphere not used in the deck? Isn't a cantrip much more important than playing either Talismans or Signets?

The deck isn't seeing play because it was pretty one sided, pretty much, people got bored (here here). Next issue would be that aggro decks in this new meta are pretty much faster compared to any zombie deck. But now that you've mentioned B/G lists, I think it is still viable competitively. I suggest you search for Brad Nelson's BG list of it. I think he used Rancor and Predator Ooze in that kind of deck. Seeing Dreg Mangler is an awesome hasted Plant Zombie too, you might as well include it for a big Loltroll if ever you'd want the troll in the deck. Check out other decklists in the Deck Creation Thread too.

You've actually just answered your own question. So just to reiterate, when we're talking about secondary sweeps, Terminus is the best choice. All other options are either budget issues or if you're playing a fog deck that needs more sweep. Merciless Eviction is another option for esper decks in case they are against superfriends. (but who plays superfriends nowadays?)

I don't like Bant because it lacks removal, specifically Abrupt Decay and Devour Flesh. Also lacks Dimir Charm, that can eventually set up a Delver, whereas a Bant deck would need to rely solely on blind flips. The sole reason to go Bant would be the access to Geist, whereas BUG doesn't have a reference-play-around-me creature.
About Delver or no Delver, he was a key piece on tempo decks. Now with blind flips he became unreliable. The thing is, other 1-drops either lack Delver's firepower or are as unreliable as Delver. So between unreliable and weaker stuff, Delver is still one of the "best" choices.
Or we could just abandon 1-drops, keep DRS and do a more midrange approach, upping the curve a bit.
How can you play aggro-control if you're going to give your opponent some extra life with Devour Flesh; what if that was a Loxodon Smiter? I understand the Abrupt Decay part, but everything including Dimir Charm isn't CA or aggro-control enough. Besides, delver decks right now shouldn't be relying solely on Delver of Secrets, hence Quirion Dryad and Selesnya Charm being synergystic with each other. I disagree on bant not having removal, those that run Azorius Charm are doing pretty well too. What should BUG run is what bant can't run. However, with B's hand disruptions and creature removals, it doesn't mix well with a delver.dec list(Duress your opponent to death?). Also, Abrupt Decay would only be the primary reason of running both BG colors in a delver.dec.

I seriously need help on the sideboard, I'm deciding whether to buy 2 Chalice of the Void or just stick to what shoktroopa's sideboard plan
1 Repeal
2 Spreading Seas
2 Spell Pierce
2 Relic of Progenitus
2 Aetherize
3 Squelch
3 Dismember
I love that list although I'd remove 1 Dismember for another Aetherize since my meta plays a lot of aggro, and a number of D&T and Storm is also a concern for me that's why I'm having trouble in the right amount of SB cards for aggro and combo. 2. Try a 2-of Talisman/Signet, the ramp isn't required turn 3 anyways since were not ramping to drop threats fast.
3. Emrakul as a 1-of is pretty strong in our deck, but we need Eye of Ugin to tutor for it(unless you can always dig for him). This is where Tolaria West comes in, aside from the Tron lands and Academy Ruins, Expedition Map isn't always present to tutor for them, since we'll be needing a single Eye of Ugin to get Emrakul. Perhaps Oboro, Palace of Clouds' spot can be switched for an Eye of Ugin, and -1 Solemn Simulacrum for Emrakul
Downside though I'm not running any Sundering Titans that can disrupt the opponent's plan. I haven't tested a list without any Solemn Simulacrum because really it is a good card advantage for us, and it's on the curve; it is one of those "glue cards" that make the deck run faster and smoother.

4 Urza's Mine
8 Island
1 Ghost Quarter
4 Urza's Tower
2 Treasure Mage
3 Solemn Simulacrum
3 Wurmcoil Engine
1 Platinum Angel
1 Blightsteel Colossus
1 Banefire
4 Expedition Map
4 Condescend
2 Repeal
1 Spell Burst
2 Relic of Progenitus
1 Into the Roil
1 Cyclonic Rift
2 Izzet Signet
3 Mana Leak
4 Thirst for Knowledge
