No, I asked when something similar to Scry 1 on a CIPT tapped dual land has been done before. Gain 1 life is a fair amount worse than Scry 1 (outside odd circumstances).
Fair enough, I misread your post. No-one argues that 1 life is anything but worse than Scry 1. However, the point remains that the Refuge cycle is in fact an example of CIPT-plus lands that you're talking about.

Quotes from gaming:
From a discussion about skipping town and fleeing from the law:
"Quick, torch the legal system and run!" said no one, ever.
While trying to ambush a creature who favored grabbing and strangling PCs:
"Ok, so Tieflings are resistant to fire, right?" "Right" "Alright, so I light myself on fire so he can't grab me."
Leafcrown Dryad actually looks pretty nice. First Bestow creature where I didn't sit and say "In what world is this playable". Not Standard-good, but probably decent-to-good in limited.

Looking at the spoilers tonight, I really hope that they decided that the first night was for flavor focus and that we'll get some better Standard cards coming up soon. Early disappointment does not bode well.

A Sliver set without a sliver mythic is a very big design fail IMO.
Talking about M13 here, bud. Last year's core set.
Realistically, M13 didn't seem like anything too-too special to me. Thragtusk's been a pain, particularly for someone who tends towards the aggro end of the spectrum, but it did lead to RTR standard, so it couldn't have been too bad.

I'm curious when an improved cognitive ability would NOT be beneficial. In a wilderness setting, how is, say, considering multiple scenarios or outcomes not helpful to hunting, navigating difficult terrain or avoiding predators? In the case of humans, language or improved communication allows us to convey these ideas and possibilities to other members of the group and we can come to consensus about a course of action. Creativity is the word, I think.
In a more general sense, when the cost of the energy used to support that cognitive ability is less than the benefit gained by having it.

Anyone investigated drafting BW Rebels? Cheap Creatures + black removal + every creature generates card advantage = win. Rathi Trapper is probably key here.
I actually just got off of a draft where I managed to monopolize it. It seems like a strong-ish archetype, but very dependent on getting Amrou Scout and Blightspeaker. I got lucky with 4, and I think critical mass is probably 3, with at least half-a-dozen other rebels, plus at least 1 Bound in Silence. Rathi Trapper is excellent, as well as Avian Changeling. If you're getting good passes, try to keep your curve under 4, but pick up a couple of retrace spells, particularly Syphon Life, and run 17 lands. It's pretty good when it works, but the archetype is so dependent on the scout and speaker that it's not going to support multiple drafters in a pod.

You really expect them to just put money cards in every slot?
To be completely honest, and in rare slots, yes. Or at least cards that see some degree of constructed play. After all, the whole point was to increase supply, no?

So... you use one of your primo removal spells on a 1-drop? As a red mage, I'd take that any day of the week, 4 to the head or no.

Didn't say that. The quoted post expressed disbelief in dual lands below rare. I merely gave an example.
